I have visited Carmel-by-the-Sea many times, but I have never visited the Valley. I am so glad I found this little Tudor cottage on the creek. The sound of the rain in the creek was so soothing, and the quietness of the area was so peaceful. We even met some friendly neighbours out walking and biking.
It's only minutes from fantastic restaurants, hiking at Garland Ranch Park, and many wineries and vineyards. And, of course, the town of Carmel and the ocean are only 25 minutes away. I could have spent many more days here happily exploring and eating my way through the area. It was just the break our family needed.
The photos do not do this cottage justice. You have preserved the old charm while making it very comfortable, and we commend you for it, Erica an Jean-Francois.
I saw some people commented on the beds - for me, our bed was amazing but too firm for my husband (it felt like a cross between a Tempurpedic and a futon - great!), the redwood room had the softest bed, and the loft bed was the most firm. Overall, we slept well, and I've already looked up the Z pillow to get my own.
For those who like a BIG mug of tea or coffee in the morning, you are covered. We travel with our own mugs because we are always disappointed at rentals, but it wasn't necessary this time. We didn't cook much, but it was a very well-stocked kitchen.
We'd love to return someday. It was too short, and I can see some quality hours of writing and reading by that creek.
Many thanks for a great stay.
