20 foot Shipping Container that is private 3 miles from houghton. Comfortable full size Murphy bed, kitchen area with hot plate and 12 in oven and refrigerator freezer. 3/4 bath with full shower. Outdoor concrete patio and solo stove fire ring. Air conditioning and furnace that is well insulated makes it perfect for all seasons.

The perfect stay for a solo traveler or couple who have lots to do and just need a place to rest. The Wi-Fi worked great to watch a movie at the end of the day. I felt cozy and safe. The place was very clean and check out process was easy.

The shipping container was easy to find. I was very impressed with all the things the owner had managed to squeeze into this tiny living space! The shower and bathroom were well done. The kitchen had everything you need including a fridge/freezer and even a cooktop! The keurig was a little wonky but I made it work. We were able to watch our favorite show and then sleep in a very comfortable air conditioned space. It was unseasonably cool the night we were there so we just kept the window open. Yes there is even a window - so natural light does come in. We saw a deer and fawn when we woke up in the morning. It was like camping but with a real bed. I wish we had the key to open up the side of the container in the morning just to experience that but no big deal. For some reason hotel rooms in this area were very expensive at this time and having this alternative worked out well for us! The mattress was a bit soft and my husband ended up sleeping in the side chair but I slept fine.

Cozy and economical

This place has everything you need for even an extended time in a small space: air fryer, dishes, coffee maker and tabletop stove. My only concern is that the fire alarm started beeping as soon as we turned on the air fryer because of food residue at the bottom. Aside from that I greatly enjoyed my stay!

Everything we needed for pick up weekend for my MTU student. The weather wasn’t great, so we didn’t get out as much as we normally do, so it was nice to have a comfortable place to hide out from the rain.

Cute little place.

The only thing bad I have to say is the shower water doesn’t get warm. The sink water gets super hot but the shower is cold.

Keweenaw Fishing Trip.

Great place to stay and centrally located to fish all the Keweenaw Peninsula! Place was amazing and host was accommodating. I’ll be back!!

Amazing find!

This was a great find! Very clean and an overall fun place to stay. The host was extremely responsive and kind. There were no surprises on our arrival. Do not be afraid of the size of the conex box or location. It is nestled just a few short miles from town and the noise. The surroundings are beautiful and attention to detail in and out we found to be outstanding! Great job to the hosts! We will be spreading the word to all those we know who plan to stay in Houghton. Wishing we could have packed up the box and taken it with us on our travels across Michigan’s finest in the UP. Cheers!
