Welcome to Lakeside Haus, a peaceful retreat on Lake Oxbow. Start your day kayaking, paddleboarding, or with coffee by the shore, explore with bikes, trails or cruising around the beautiful lake on a boat, then enjoy evenings using the grill and unwinding around the fire. Whether you’re here for adventure, quiet time, or family fun, the setting makes it effortless.


We will respect your privacy and let you enjoy your stay unless you contact us with any property issues or local suggestion inquiries. We are always available, this cabin is hosted by real people vs large property managers. We are happy to you through your stay!

Guests enjoy full, private access to the property throughout their stay, including the main home, garage, and the surrounding outdoor spaces. This may include waterfront, lake access, dock, deck, and amenities such as fire pit and grill. Guests are welcome to use water toys, kayaks, paddleboards, and life vest where provided.
Please note: restricted areas – owner’s closet / mechanical room are not included with guest access.

Escape to a spacious lakefront home on Presque Isle Lake, a peaceful Northwoods lake known for boating, fishing, swimming, and stunning sunsets. Whether you’re here to relax by the fire, explore the water, or hit nearby snowmobile and ATV trails, Lakeside Haus is designed for memorable stays in every season.

With 1 private T-shaped dock, gradual shoreline swimming, Spectrum high-speed internet, and room for up to 10 guests, this is the perfect retreat for families, friends, or small groups.

Loved our stay!

We could not have asked for a nicer place for our family. We loved everything about our stay at Lakeside Haus. Everything was immaculate when we arrived. The host had great communication and we immediately went down to the water. Oxbow is such a great lake. We enjoyed our time fishing and swimming. The bedrooms provide ample space and the living area was perfect for us. There was so much room we didn't even use the downstairs but loved all of it. There were some great dining options in Presque Isle and Manitowish (check out Meggies if you get a chance!). Thank you again for everything!

Great clean property and had all everything we needed for a vacation week. Full kitchen, multiple large bedrooms, deck and propane grill were all fantastic. The availability of a pontoon at the dock when we arrived made it complete. We have been in vacationing in Boulder Junction area for 20 years so it felt like home!Just wish fishing in July was better

Lakeside Haus

As in past years, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lakeside Haus, from the clean environment and all the provisions you need for a comfortable vacation in the North Woods, to excellent hosts who communicate and answer questions promptly. We also enjoy the use of the pontoon boat. Lakeside Haus is a beautiful vacation spot!

Quite lake, secluded, but still close enough to resturants, bars and supper clubs. Owners are super friendly and easy to communicate with.

Perfect Fall Getaway In The Northwoods

We were incredibly impressed with this beautifully kept gem of a property! This was one of the best VBRO”s we have stayed in. We love to travel and have rented many properties over the years, this one stands out & shines for many reasons. Compliments to Candlewood, Travis and Amanda as they were a pleasure to communicate with from the beginning/booking process, through day of checking out, & even after our return home. We truly appreciated their timely communications, great tips, info about the area, & their warm hospitality! We have spent a lot of time in MN on the Northshore, Montana, the UP of Michigan & Wisconsin. We have returned to Northern WI five times over the last 7 years. We adore Vilas County, and have to say that Oxbow Lake is one of the prettiest lakes in WI. Loved that the dock was in to enjoy in October and that Travis offered to rent us the nice pontoon on his property. Our week was perfect! Enjoyed relaxing exploring back roads, waterfalls, hiking, a misty am sunrise, daytrip to Lake Superior, Blk River Scenic Byway & Suspension Bridge, every moment! The things we loved about Lakeside Haus: all the comforts of home: wood burning fireplace, plenty of fresh linens, a full bag of ice in freezer upon arrival, Roku and streaming, Wi-fi access, gas grill, outside chairs/3 areas. We saw Northern lights on October 10th from the deck, shopped in Minoqua: love Sallets, had very nice dinner at Northfolk Fin & Filet. Thank you for a perfect Fall getaway!

Top Notch Property

Another excellent Candlewood property! We have previously stayed in another property they manage and found this one to be as well executed as the other one. The property is clean, comfortable, and well-supplied with the essentials. I would advise you to view the video they have even if you bring your own boat as it has valuable information on lake navigation. Travis responds promptly to all inquiries. Take note of the warning regarding the path to the water if you have mobility issues, especially in wet conditions. I am 65 with artificial joints and found the path easy enough but it was dry when I was there. Oxbow has a better-than-advertised fishery if you know where to look. This is a great place unwind and relax

Perfect family vacation

Amazing getaway

Our family has rented houses all over the world. This was hands down the best rental ever! The house is clean, well maintained, and a great house for multiple families. Everything we needed was there waiting for us! The kitchen was very well stocked for people who love to cook. If anyone is looking for a space to detach and find peace and quiet, this is the perfect space!

Was a great property for our group to come up for our annual trip. We usually snowmobile but the trails weren’t open so we ice fished instead and still had a great time!

Perfect House on a Lake

I am very happy I stayed at this beautiful lake house. Everything was easy and comfortable staying here. It was a perfect mix of forest and lake while situated in an ideal central location to explore all that this area has to offer. I wish that I stayed longer and plan to come back.

Our best vacation rental in years!

We had a wonderful time at Lakeside Haus last week. First, the cleaners did an amazing job. One of the cleanest properties we've ever rented. The property manager, Travis, was exceptionally responsive. Couldn't ask for better communication. The location was beautiful. Right on Oxbow Lake, it was a short walk down the hill to access the water. Having a pontoon available to rent allowed everyone to get out on the water. Property is very private. Although you can barely see a house a few hundred yards away, the was quiet and peaceful. The house had everything we needed. Having cooked most nights, the kitchen was well appointed. There were phone stations in every room. Then there were the little things, the niceties, like the dog food station, the little bowl next to the bed for jewelry and soap for the dishwasher and washing machine. Couldn't ask for a better rental. Well done, Travis!

South Bay Paradise

Great spot on Oxbow Lake. The added bonus of an available pontoon boat and great weather was the ticket for our family annual July trip to the Northwoods. Really enjoyed reading the book about the history of families settle on the lake.

Great accommodations. Close to Snowmobile trail

Great property. Everything was ad advertised. Stayed 3 nights for snowmobiling in Presque Isle and UP of Michigan. Good trail access from property. Everything was clean and comfortable. Great view from the home as well.

Great place!

We stayed here for a snowmobile trip in January. Owner has excellent communication and very good to work with. House is setup very nicely. Owner did ask about getting trailers back there as he has been asked by others. It is fairly tight back there but is do able. We had a full size truck with a 29’ trailer back there. It’s tight but wasn’t that bad. If you were pulling 20’ you could get 2 trucks and trailers easily. Just gotta make sure snow plow guys keep stuff pushed back. Trail is right at the end of the road so access is super easy. Definitely recommend to snowmobile groups.

Perfect Getaway

We had an amazing time at the Lakeside Haus! The cabin is beautiful and was extremely clean. Anything you could possibly need is provided. We especially enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boards! Travis was extremely responsive and helpful. Oxbow Lake and the surrounding area is beautiful and peaceful. We can’t wait to return!
