"The Wright Way" - 6 Sabal Palm Cottage offers a light, open floor plan, including a new fully stocked kitchen with all you will need for the gourmet cook and family meals, 3 spacious bedrooms. The room with two twins also has a trundle bed that pulls out from under one of the twins. Our home boasts gleaming hardwood floors throughout and beautiful comfortable furniture.. Located in the center of the island, at the end of Sabal Palm Trail, the cottage is perfectly situated within minutes from the beach, as well as the harbor, restaurants, 'Old Baldy', both clubs, the creek access and Maritime market. After a day at the beach, it is a pleasure to return home to the comfort of the live oaks and the peace and serenity of the sabal palm community.

*For an additional charge, our guests may select temporary membership (not included and not guaranteed - dependent upon availability) at either Shoals or Bald Head Island Club.. Shoals club is located at East beach in a superb ocean side setting. It offers both a main pool and smaller child's pool with beautiful ocean views. Informal pool side and restaurant dinning are available as is a small gym. For those wanting to play golf or tennis, Bald Head Island club offers both, as well as a gym and a fantastically updated series of pools for all ages. A brand new ocean view restaurant offers more casual dining, but if it's more formal dining you're looking for, you'll find that within the stylish club house.

The home includes the use of two *NEW BINTELLI* 4 seater golf carts and beach chairs.

If you are not familiar with Bald Head Island, imagine a quiet, relaxing place with beautiful and varied surroundings. Whether you are looking for an active vacation on the water or on land or one spent enjoying the 14 miles of wonderful beaches, there's something for everyone. Fishing, sailing, kayaking, golfing ,biking, beach combing, nature trails, exploring the island after dark or turtle watching with the interns. What ever your chosen past time, our house offers a lovely relaxing atmosphere to return to. Relax on the screened porch with a view of the lagoon and enjoy a drink.

We will be ready to assist you with your pre-visit planning, ferry and tram reservations, and information about the island facilities. We are here to help make you stay a great one.

Please note this home does not have a grill. If you stayed in the Sabal Palm area in past years, the communal grills have since been removed.

*Club memberships are optional and subject to availability. The costs are separate and not included with the rental of the home.

Great cottage on Bald Head

Very comfortable cottage-new golf carts were fantastic as were the beach chairs and towels provided. For our family, who flew to be on Bald Head, it was a perfect spot.

We have a wonderful house manager who helps us take care of our home, and we definitely view the house as our home, rather than a rental property. We have filled it with all the things that we enjoy, and cooking is one of them, so we have most things you'll need in the kitchen.

Terrific stay

We had a great week in this house! Super clean, bright and every amenity we could have asked for! Host was very responsive when my husband let him know about problem with golf cart which he dealt with immediately. My only concern would be to keep a watchful eye on small dogs and children as the property abuts a marsh way that we saw a quite large alligator hanging around! Definitely fun to see but please don’t feed!! Also a beautiful neighborhood deck area to watch the birds and wildlife! Highly recommend this house! Thanks for the opportunity to stay!

Such a great place to stay on BHI!

We loved staying here! We came for spring break with our kids and had the best time. Lovely view of the lagoon. The property was clean and the kitchen was well stocked. We will be back! :)

A wonderful getaway

We spent 3 nights in this great house. The owners were very accommodating from the moment I booked the reservation, and the house was perfect for our family. It is spacious, clean, and well stocked. The golf carts were great for getting around the island. We would definitely stay here again.

BHI is a place that pulls you back again and again, and we love it when people choose our home to come back to. We have a great house manager who keeps the house so clean, and she's on hand during our guest's stay should she be needed. We love cooking so the kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans and utensils.

Great location

We enjoyed our stay . House was perfect size for the 5 of us . Loved having the lagoon . I saw a alligator, ibis, egrets and turtles. Enjoyed having coffee on the porch watching for wildlife! House is in great location , sorta middle! Was very quiet and peaceful in the Sabal Cottages. Would love to come back here !

Family Vacation

Property was even better in person. We have been vacationing on BHI for over 20 years and have stayed all over the island. 6 Sable Palm was clean, and perfect for our family of 4. Able to access both clubs if you desire (make sure to apply early), two brand new golf carts and all within a the most reasonable price point for the island. Thank you for another relaxing and memorable year!

AMAZING house and experience

We had an AMAZING time at BHI!!! The house is beautiful and very spacious. Everything was impecable at the house. Superior quality, very well equipped, and working with Carrie was the more easy thing. I started my “vacation” since day one.

Perfect Perfect Perfect and Great Value too.

We are just back from our week at this home and it was an absolute delight. The furnishings are lovely and in great shape with everything you need for a great week.The house was absolutely spotless and the two golf carts gave us a ton of flexibility. It is definitely a special house in a very special place and Carrie made everything EASY- especially considering it was our first visit to the island. You will not be dissapointed.

Perfect Home Away From Home!!

Rented this property for our 10th year on the island and it could not have been more perfect for our family! Beautiful home with everything you need. Very clean and beautifully decorated and very comfortable! The kitchen Is fully stocked and great for cooking in at night. The location was perfect for getting to the market, golf course and beach. Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We've been coming to the island for summer vacation with our 2 kids for 10 years, sometimes twice in a summer and once for Thanksgiving! We love Bald Head Island, it is our happy place! We've stayed in lots of different houses, some more than once and with a few different rental companies. This was our first time with Homes on BHI - it was a great experience! We loved the house, the communication was great, the house was well stocked and we love the forest area. We would definitely recommend the island, Homes on BHI and this house! If you come, be sure to go to Mike's Bites for Italian ice - it's the best cold treat, the best value and the best place on the island other than the beach!!

Beautiful week in Bald Head

Our family of 5 (3 teens) stayed at 6 Sabal Palm cottage. We had a great stay with plenty of room to spread out. Beds were comfortable and the house is updated nicely. The house had everything we needed- including beach towels, beach chairs. We enjoyed playing games at night and sitting on the back porch. We saw a few alligators, turtles, and egrets. The property manager was very communicative and went out of his way to help us out with anything we needed. Thanks for. a great stay!

Nice and spacious home!

The home is spacious and comfortable. It is at the end of a very quiet cul-de-sac and is centrally located between the marina and market and close to the beach, golf course and Bald Head Island Club. The kitchen is very well equipped. There is a private screen porch with lots of rocking chairs. Both carts are in great shape and fast. We enjoyed temporary membership to both clubs. Trust that if you have any questions at all Carrie will be very responsive.

Great House in the Maritime Forest

House was great for two families. Spacious and lots of beds. Plenty of seating at dining table was a plus too. Kitchen was easy to work in with all the necessities. Location in the Maritime Forest is great...quiet but close to every part of the island. Community Gazebo overlooking the lagoon was the kids' favorite and they even saw the alligator. Two golf carts are great to have (an ammenity not to overlook!) Three bikes provided too! Carrie was exceedingly easy to work with and very responsive. I would definitely rent the house again.

Peaceful, beautiful vacation

This is our second stay at this house, which works wonderfully for our family that includes two young adults, but there is surely room for more guests. May is a great time on the island; the weather is cooler and there are fewer vacationers so nothing is crowded. The Jose house has everything that you would want. It is immaculately clean, the property is quiet, the carts and bikes get you everywhere, the market is nearby, and the kitchen has all the basics. Staying in the forest is different from being next to the beach. We really love the canopy and bicycling under the trees. The owner is very responsive and maintains a lovely rental property where you will feel at home.

Exceptionally clean. Upholstered furniture like new. Convenient layout with open design. Great tv accessability (we were there during all of the New Years bowl games). Quiet location. Well furnished kitchen. Good WiFi. Like-new golf carts. Comfortable beds. Attractively decorated. Very easy to communicate with home owner. Very easy to work with property management on-site. Wonderful screened-in porch overlooking lagoon (with resident alligator). Great memories!!!

Our family room furniture was new in July 2015. With our growing family, we needed more seating so replaced the sofa and chair with a great new sectional. We've updated other pieces of furniture too to add to our light and airy feel. We have our golf carts maintained every month during the summer and every other month through the rest of the year to help them look good and run well. The on island golf cart company respond well to call outs at any time.

We love BHI!

Pros: Great Vacation! House fully stocked and very nice. Once on island : good communication. Cons: Advertised a grill but no grill. Also some of beach items broken when we got there. Communication 2-3 weeks out was not the best. Asked several times about club membership and finally was told to call them myself. Overall great location and amazing time just wish some of extras were in better condition and it was easier to get in touch with someone.

Mendi Thanks for your feedback. We take all concerns seriously and will do our best to address them. The grill advertised is a community grill that apparently was not working during your stay. This community does not allow grills on property. The BHI club does not allow us to get in middle of the temp memberships. They must be booked directly with the club and as we have no control over their rules and rates, it is always best to deal directly with them. After meeting you, I hope that your week was a great one and I do hope you will come and stay with us again.

This house has everything it promises

I've been vacationing at BHI for about 10 years. This was my first time to stay in the interior of the island, and we really enjoyed the forest canopy. The home was bright and clean and very comfortably furnished. Our family of four (two college-age children) had more than enough space and appreciated having 3 full baths. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to prepare and serve breakfast and some lunches and dinners. The carts were fully charged and in good working order, and we used the bicycles, as well. We opted for the BHI Club membership for the week, where we enjoyed the pool, restaurants, tennis, golf and fitness center. In my planning stages, Carrie was very responsive to my questions and needs. There was a property manager on the island, but we did not need anything. It felt like home to us. I would certainly return.

The forest canopy adds such a different dimension to the island, yet you're still so close to the ocean and beaches. We love listening to the tree frogs and cicadas at different times of the day when we're on the porch. Guests staying in our home can choose to purchase temporary memberships at either Bald Head Island Club or Shoals.

Wonderful Home

We spent our sixth consecutive summer on BHI and were treated to a great week of relaxing fun and fantastic weather. The week was made all that more enjoyable by this great home. The home is very spacious -- far more so than is apparent in the pictures. In addition, the home is stocked with numerous high-end appliances, kitchen products/utensils, and other modern amenities (which we greatly appreciated, especially since we are very busy kitchen folk). It's apparent the home owners care about and frequently use the home themselves and are careful and discriminating to stock it with items that they appreciate using themselves. Sabal Palms Cottages is a cozy little neighborhood with a great gazebo overlooking a lagoon busy with all sorts of entertaining wildlife; we enjoyed stopping by in the evenings to sightsee. In addition, many of the neighbors are very friendly and helpful. Finally, Carrie is very responsive and prompt in all her business dealings, which made every transaction and communication pleasant and easy.

Chic Cottage

We had the best time! The house is conveniently located close to the market, shops and beaches. It's very roomy and our family of 5 had plenty of room to stretch out. Our kids (12 yr old twin boys & 11 yr old daughter) really liked having their own space to have a bit of quiet time to read or play on their ipad after a busy day in the sun. The bedrooms are very spacious and the beds & pillows were extremly comfortable. The pictures online don't do it justice, the furnishings are very tasteful and we all liked the beachy theme throughout. We cooked all of our meals at the house except one. The kitchen was well stocked. I wasn't sure what to expect in that area but we were pleased to find measuring cups, cutting boards, Tervis cups, nice cook ware, colanders, and any cooking utensil you could want. It was nice having a washer & dryer and DustBuster to keep things tidy. The only thing we would have liked to have had was a gas grill. There is a communal grill available a short walk away but we didn't want to bother with trying to clean it before use or using charcoal. No big deal though :) Carrie was very kind and guided us along well. It really is a great place and we can't wait to go back.

Thank you for your review. We love to hear that our renters have had such a good time and have found the house comfortable and relaxing. We love sleeping and cooking so having comfy beds and a well equipped kitchen are important to us too! We're always happy to consider adding utensils when we get feedback. Our neighbourhood covenants don't allow the general use of gas grills which is why we have the communal grill at the gazebo. There is a steel brush in the downstairs cupboard to clean the grill off once it's hot. We look forward to receiving returning guests and offer 5% discount on a full week booked in the summer season when you return.

Pleasantly Surprised!

Was expecting something smaller.Home is larger than its pictures do it justice.Clean, new, well maintained, modern, and very comfortable.Great floor plan with open first floor kitchen, family room and dining room. Everyone was in the conversation no matter where you were. WIFI, big screens and BLURay players (plays DVDs and CDs) in every room. Water heater is a little small for 6 folks. It is only an issue when 6 are trying to shower one after the other in trying to go out. Pace yourselves and it is not an issue. Home was well appointed with everything you need. Nice rocking chairs on the screened in porch with ceiling fans! Helps move the air around on a steamy night. Home is centrally located and it's easy to get to anywhere on the Island. Quick golf cart ride to beach, country club, marina, anywhere. Can bike to all those too if you have nothing to carry. Owners are easy to work with and the neighbors are friendly. The island had a lot to do and we wish we had stayed longer. Suggestion for folks coming over 4th of July week: 1) Make prepared meal orders from the market the week before you go. They were slammed 4-5 days ahead of time. 2) If you purchase the temporary BHI country club membership and want to attend the big 4th cookout, pay ahead of time to avoid long lines. And get there early...the food was excellent for a mass production. and 3) make dinner reservations at the BHI Country Club the week before you go...it books quickly, you can always cancel. Gym at BHI CC was well appointed. Never had to wait for a machine. Mojo's and Dalphine's restaurant's were excellent. Especially enjoyed Mojo's sushi. Will-o-wisp trivia night was a fun family event. No real night life as this is all about the outdoors. However, Friday night entertainment starts early at the marina (6PM) with DJ and then moves to karaoke at Mojo's, so pack up early if you're departing early Saturday. And be ready to leave when you put your luggage out! Made the mistake of putting it out and then having last minute breakfast and hadn't unloaded the fridge (our bad). Was believing the tram driver would knock on the door to tell us he was here and going to load up and we'd have 5 minutes to wrap things up. No, he knocked on the door to say everything was loaded and we needed to leave right away for other pick ups. Had to make a rushed wrap up and exit. No biggie, but got the blood pumpin' there for a few minutes. Overall outstanding, quality, family time in a great home!

Good points about the market and the trams. The market have a great selection of tasty family food for take outs, that usually you only need to give them 24 hours notice for, but it is worth thinking ahead if you'll be on the island for July 4th week so you avoid being disappointed. It's worth booking your return tram when you're booking the tram/ferry for your arrival to the island. Return trams get booked up very early so make sure you secure the time you need. Be ready too to leave at the time BHI tell you the pick up will be from - They usually give you a window but on busy mornings (which seem to be most of them!), you'll need to be ready to go as soon as they arrive.
