Escape to the Texas Piney Woods! Our Rusk farm stay comfortably sleeps 6 guests and offers an unforgettable countryside experience. Cooks will love the detached Cookhouse, fully equipped with a gas range, flat-top grill, and a Texas-style smoker. Right next door, you can cool off in the pool, which is fully fenced for your safety and peace of mind. Enjoy a taste of true farm life! The property is home to friendly dogs, cats, chickens, pigs, and goats, alongside beautiful horses and cows. Keep your eyes peeled for deer and the variety of birds migrating through the area. Enjoy stargazing an unobstructed sky. We are pet friendly and if you can’t quite unplug we have fast WiFi and. Comfortable workspace. note:The pool is shared with the owners and one other guest rental. There is no lifeguard on duty and guests swim at their own risk. Little ones must have flotation and be accompanied by parent. nearby attractions include the Rusk Footbridge, Cherokee Trace Safari Park and the Texas State Railroad. Rusk is close to Jacksonville,Palestine, Historic Nacogdoches,Tyler and Lufkin.

This is one of the best stays we’ve had! The hosts were absolutely amazing. Recommend this to anybody that would be going with children or just a couple trying to get away and enjoy some time together. They were so kind. We loved it so much that we are looking to book again in the near future. Don’t overlook this beautiful home and all the accommodations that come with it because it’s definitely worth it!

This stay was wonderful. Jack and Rose were very kind and gracious, even though my boyfriends dog tore up some of the blinds. They worked with us to find a solution and stayed graceful the whole time. I would recommend this to anyone coming to the Rusk/Palestine area.

Rose is a wonderful host, the property was beautiful and we had everything we could possibly need. We worked remotely during our stay and it worked really well. They have a lovely pool, fabulously stocked cookhouse, and are pet friendly. Very happy we could stay here.

The whole place overall was extremely welcoming, cozy and felt like home. The hosts whent above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and made sure we had everything we needed. Even offered us to tag along while feeding the horses.

Relaxing reading bookcation

It was the most peaceful, restful, joyful and spiritual experience which was exactly what i needed at this time in my life. Rose and Jack were phenomenal host and really enjoyed giving the cows, pigs and chickens some treats with Rose. I want to make this a yearly getaway. The salt water pool was the icing on the cake and the bunkhouse cabin was perfect Very highly recommend

Wonderful!

Property was secluded and private. Tons of supplies and amenities provided by the Hosts! Fun to watch the horses play, the friendliest dogs, and a great pool! Hosts were responsive and very accommodating. Would HIGHLY recommend!

Jack and Rose are fantastic hosts. I mentioned that we were there to celebrate my husband’s birthday and Rose brought us a giant slice of a delicious cake to celebrate. The animals are beautiful and my son loved playing with the dogs and cat as well as chasing the chickens. This place is a little slice of heaven away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Another great stsy at the rustic ranch

This was our secomd visit to the rustic ranch. Everything was fantastic. Rose and Jack are great hosts and do a fantastic job providing the little things that help make our stay very relaxing

Lovely property with great hosts.

Great quiet and peaceful property in a rural setting. Jack and Rose were wonderful hosts and made sure we had everything we needed. The property is beautiful with lots of blooming plants and shade trees. Great place to relax and enjoy nature away from city life.

Mr. Jack was outside cleaning the pool when I arrived. He was very kind and offered to help me unload my vehicle. This is a working ranch so the owners were out and about tending to their animals. It was extremely peaceful. We had farm fresh eggs in the fridge. The house itself is lovely. The bed was extremely comfortable. The cookhouse has everything you need to make a full meal. We spent the weekend relaxing for my Husbands birthday. It was absolutely perfect!

The Bunk House sits on the grounds of an 1855 farm house, it is Near the site of a confederate Civil war camp. The main house features distinctive “Dog~trot”architecture and still retains many period features.
