Nice place in good location

Overall good experience. Phillipe met me at arrival and lives nearby. Frequent cleaning of room. Building and grounds were well kept. If you have a scooter park in the locked courtyard!! Ac works great and fiber internet/wifi just installed.

Great location, if you don't mind walking. Located close enough to everything but far enough from the main strip. Very and friendly neighbors, peaceful atmosphere ( don't set your alarm cause the rooster will wake you up LOL) Would recommend for long term or short term. Thanks Phillipe

Great place to stay!

Was a great experience. Philippe and Delffi were wonderful hosts. Our apartment was clean, comfortable and the property was secure and safe. Was within walking distance to the main square of San Miguel. Looking forward to staying here again.

Perfect for the money and the honey...

My wife and I visited Cozumel for the first time to complete the Ironman and have a second honeymoon/early anniversary. We didn't want to spend a lot of money, so we looking on VRBO and found this cute little apartment for a very reasonable price with great reviews. It is exactly as pictured; small, but not too small, and cute with the front door looking out over a beautiful little garden. We kept the windows open most of the time to welcome a nice breeze and used the AC in the bedroom for a cozy sleep at night. The bedroom and bed is nice and big, but the mattress was a little hard and stiff for us (we're used to memory foam), so I recommend grabbing a memory foam topper for cheap from Mega Store if that concerns you. The location is perfect, right next to the Mercado where you can eat traditional local food in the morning, around the corner from arguably the best dive shop on island (Deep Blue), and walking distance to the best restaurants we found (try the Argentinian Paradilla place, its to die for, and Marina Del Sal, which is like a spa restaurant, and Guido's Italian, amazing). Phillipe, Delffi, and their delightful cleaning lady will welcome you with open arms and take great care of you (ask about their honey - yum!). We will definitely be back in the future.

Dodo Residential March 2017 Stay

There are not enough superlatives for me to describe our fabulous experience we had at the Dodo Residential in San Miguel. The location was as advertised. It was close to all one would need for an extended stay vacation. The Central Market was less that one hundred meters away, and the OXXO, and a fabulous laundry facility were right around the corner. There was a variety of restaurants with great food all within walking distance. Delffi greeted us at the gate as soon as we arrived from the airport (which is only 2 kilometers form the Dodo). We were immediately impressed by the cleanliness and coziness of the building, and our room. We also felt very safe. The neighborhood was as friendly as our landlords and our housekeeper Nellie. While there, the lever to our toilet broke. I notified Philippe and it was fixed within an hour. That was impressive. I would not hesitate to recommend the Dodo Residential to anyone; friend, relative or total stranger. Cheers, Jim and Mary Backlund

An oasis in the middle of the city

This one bedroom unit in this three level condo, was well furnished with an small kitchen good for preparing breakfast, The Garden is by far the best feature of this unit. The beautiful mature trees and flowers add a charm plus a nice shade to keep the place cool most of the day. The unit is 10 mins walk from downtown and next to a local market. It's very centrally located. We had a rented a car and had no trouble parking in front of the unit on the street. Philippe and Delffi were always available and very friendly. We stayed here for a month and Nelly cleaned our rooms and had fresh towels for us every other day. Philippe also has his own Bee farm and had fresh delicious honey for sale which we brought back home as well. Overall, a gem in the middle of city close to all amenities.

Home away from home

This apartment, within walking distance to everything, met all of our needs. The friendly and knowledgeable owners were available promptly with even the smallest of needs, but more importantly, provided privacy for us to enjoy what we needed...solitude. The property was clean and well cared for. Residents in next door units were courteous, friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again, although might request that the bed be updated. All correspondence from beginning to end, was professional, courteous and smooth. We very much appreciated being able to stay here. It's popular, so book your reservations early.

Great choice for value "Base Camp" in Cozumel

Compact apartment is designed for longer stays, but worked well for our visit of just a few days. Location is a 5-min walk from the main tourist zone and close to many restaurants, including the Mercado. AC in bedroom worked well. It's an older building with basic furnishings and is very clean and quiet (rooms face an inside courtyard, so are off the street). Best part of stay was owner (Philippe) was very gracious, and the fellow neighbors were an interesting and friendly conglomerate of snowbirds. We rented a car one day from ISIS which was just a few blocks away and had a great time and went to several beach clubs (enjoyed Paradise Beach Club as it has a great pool). Note, this is intended as a small apartment community - it does not have the same amenities as a hotel.

Trois semaines au soleil

Nous avons grandement apprécié notre séjour à Dodo. Philippe nous a acueilli et a répondu à toutes nos questions. La propriété est impeccable et Nellie est un atout majeur. Tout est à distance de marche, restos, quatre supermarchés, Lucilla, à deux pas, qui fait notre lessive. Dodo est un petit oasis dans un quartier très vivant et intéressant. On peut même prendre des cours d'espagnol à proximité.

Nice accommodations

Philippe's apartments were a great choice for us... Right around the corner from where my daughter is living and out of the tourist district but only a few blocks walk if that is what you're looking for. Dodo Apts has the flavor of the real Cozumel with lots of little cantinas nearby to walk to. Philippe was very accommodating and was quick to respond to any email I sent him. I would stay here again on return trips.

excellent location

This property is exactly as described. The garden is well cared for, I even saw a turtle one day.The unit was clean and the bed was comfortable. The location was ideal, easy walk to main square close to local snacks and restaurants.It may be far to walk for someone with mobility issues. Hosts are very attentive.The owners provided us with secure parking for our scooter.Cozumel has a nice vibe. The dodo has a full kitchen,although we did not do much cooking it was nice to have breakfast before heading out for the day.Large size fridge for stocking up on cervezas.

Superb, Sparkling Clean. Big Shower, Full Kitchen

Excellent!! A+++. Dodo Apartments earned top rating for superb accommodations! (Loved the place so much, I extended my visit for another week) Bedroom: Comfortable, firm mattress with soft, cotton sheets and fresh bedding. Air conditioner easy to reach, easy to control. Ceiling fan with multiple speeds. Large closet with good natural lighting next to window. Bath --- BIG, roomy shower. Generous full shower, gushing with plenty of cold and hot water and fresh puffy towels. Family-size shampoo and extra tissue provided. Kitchen: fully stocked with EVERYTHING needed to cook, toast, roast, sautée, serve and enjoy good food ( Bonus: Dodo Apartment is half block from The Municipal Market --fresh groceries!) Many thanks!

Nicely located just 5 short blocks from the shore.

A very clean and well maintained property close to shopping and the very popular main street along the waterfront. Any problems were quickly resolved by a very accommodating owner who provided invaluable information on local attractions, shopping and dining. The locals were polite and friendly but it seems that just about everyone has a dog that would sometimes get loose and leave something on the sidewalk. So watch where you step! The kitchens are a bit small but you quickly learn to work as a team, one at a time when preparing meals. Don't miss the annual festival in February if you can make it. The best parade we've ever seen!

The property was very nice and neat.

We stayed at the Dodo Residential from the beginning of January until the end of March. We were well taken care of and the staff (Nelly and Geraldo) were gracious and very helpful. Philippe was very prompt with any problems that came up (very few!) and gave us some good ideas about where to find great vegetarian cuisine. Don't hesitate to stay at the Dodo.....it's close to shopping, restaurants, the beach, and if you plan on staying awhile, a big laundromat just around the corner!

Beautiful tropical home away from home!!

We had a wonderful two month stay at DoDo apartment. Philippe and Dellfie, the owners were great. They were very helpful with any questions or concerns and attend quickly to your needs. Nellie and Geraldo, the maid and grounds keeper, are so friendly and keep everything clean and manicured. The beautiful garden with tall palm trees makes this a hidden oasis with a tropical feel you will love. The location is great. Half block from the Mercado for fresh fruit, veggies, meat and fish. Close waking to grocery store, laundry mat, convenient store and inexpensive local restaurants. We loved our stay in beautiful Cozumel and look forward to coming back! Guy & Melaine

All the sights, sounds and smells of residential San Miguel. Owner was quick to respond to any inquiries, requests. Location excellent for a walking couple. Ocean, local market, restaurants, grocery stores, tourist shops all easily walked to. Great king size bed. Building and grounds well cared for.

My wife and I very much enjoyed our stay at Dodo Residential. This was our first stay at this location. We would stay here again. Fully furnished with everything we needed. Great Location in Cozumel

Since we are local,we live at a block from our property here in Cozumel and we deal with our guests directly – from key exchanges, to cleaning, to repairs, and anything in between. All of our units are fully furnished and have all the amenities of home ! we speak fluently Spanish, English, French and Dutch
