Perfect location

Excellent spot for the Ice Wine Festival, right in the heart of many wineries. Second time staying with this host, will be back!

Convenient location. It is very much a basement. Not much light. Mediocre finishes. Bed is comfy tho. You can hear the owners walking around upstairs but that didn’t bother me. I’m not a nervous person about security but the locking method is a little odd. Had to deadbolt ourselves in to the bedroom. Didn’t love that! Didn’t seem safe for fire safety. But overall it was very close to all the wineries so it served the purpose!

Great Place!

My wife and I stayed here over Labor Day weekend. It’s perfectly located, and the hosts are extremely dog friendly. We loved everything about it and have no complaints!

Great Location!

Great spot for my husband and I and our dog - we were in the area to attend a friend's wedding and it was a perfect location, close to the downtown and the venue. Host was incredibly friendly and gracious and gave us some great recommendations while there!

Convenient, comfortable and caring!

This property is conveniently located in the heart of Virgil, just 5km from NOTL old town. We did not have a car so it was ideal for us- within walking distance of the property there is a great brewhouse/pub and are some good dinner and breakfast options, grocery stores, and of course a few wineries as well. We were lucky to meet the owner who was a wonderful host and went out of his way to make us feel welcome and make sure we were comfortable. We highly recommend this place for the overall experience.

Basement with very little natural light. Spacious but run down. Toilet partcularly awkward.

Great Bang for your Buck

We had a great stay here at Vineyard Haven which is extremely close to everything we wanted to see. The accommodation was as described with a wonderful king bed (the pullout sofa wasn't used so can't comment on it). If someone is looking for a reasonably priced place to stay in the heart of Niagara, this is a good option.

This is not s vineyard. It's a rundown house and very difficult to find. There is no number on the house. The owner was not friendly and I had fear. I didn't stay there.

A few nights in Niagara

Comfortable basement studio. Host was very accommodating & helpful. Convenient location to wineries & Niagara on the Lake. Bit noisy ftom footsteps above & plumbing not ‘standard’ but I would recommend staying here for an affordable visit.

Convenient but did not meet expectations

Bed comfortable, apartment reasonably clean are the good points. This is a basement apartment with a noisy powered cottage toilet and with lots of walking heard from the upstairs people -- presumably the owners. We've stayed at lots of overnights in houses but this was far below the standard. Luckily we had only booked 1 night and we left near dawn.

Great location and cozy cottage

Great location as close to both niagra on the lake and the falls. Cozy cottage that had all you need. It’s an older building but has its charm. Only thing I would recommend is for owner to purchase a smart TV. No cable needed as anyone could just stream using ones own account. The Tv setup they have isn’t working or when it did, didn’t have a great image. Other than that the cottage had all that you’d need.

Hidden gem in the heart of wine country

Stay was overall good! The location is key in that you are less than a 10 minute drive away from everything including wineries, brewery’s, lakes, trails, etc. Best bang for your buck for all of those reasons. The owners are incredibly nice and accommodating, their hospitality is definitely a 5/5 and makes up for anything gone wrong. Come with the understanding that it is a basement apartment, so you can hear walking above, nothing we didn’t anticipate. The yard is beautiful and their pup Gatsby was so sweet. We have two dogs with us so it was great to have the fenced yard for them and they got some play time with Gatsby. Overall it’s not your fancy Mariott hotel, but it’s very friendly, comfy and so close to amazing wineries! What it lacks in a 5* hotel amenities, it makes up for in personality and hospitality. Thank you Adam and Donna, it’s exactly what we needed!

Good location

Unfortunately, we stayed during bylaw issues. So no door on the unit. Was unaware it was a basement unit. There was an unbundance of fruit flies, spiders and mice running through the ceiling were concerning. The shower had no water pressure. With a few upgrades and care it would be a lovely stay. Right now the only selling point is its location. Walking distance to everything we needed.

A short getaway

It is a good location. The owner is very friendly and easy to communicate with. We had some problems with the check-in details and he went out of his way to help us. However, it’s a basement and it gets pretty chilly so make sure to bring warm clothing. There is a noisy toilet and it does not function that great. Don’t flush it at night cause you’re gonna wake up the whole house. There is also a lot of flies in the unit, that’s why I gave it 3 stars for cleanliness. Overall, a good experience. We praise the location again.

Reasonably priced stay in Niagara wine country

This basement apartment lies just off Niagara Stone Road in Virgil, adjacent to Niagara on the Lake. It is bordered on all sides by excellent local wineries and is only five kilometers from NOTL's Old Town. The hosts are very helpful (and forgiving, because we were late checking out.) The kitchenette includes a refrigerator, microwave, sink, coffeemaker, and dishware, allowing you to save money on breakfasts and lunch. The home has a pool, which we did not take advantage of due to the weather. The bed is comfortable, and the unit has two sofas and a small dining table. Water pressure in the shower is low and the pump on the below-grade toilet makes quite a racket, but it is otherwise a comfortable place and, considering the steep prices of everything around it, a bargain.

Property was not what we were expecting. House is not well maintained, the room is in the basement, people walking above you until 1 am, lighting is dim, toilet doesnt flush properly, very little water pressure in the shower, have to pay to even access the backyard. Overall it did not meet our expectation and we left after one night to find better accommodations. Bed was comfortable but that is really the only good thing i can say about this property.
