The Best of Topanga: Clean! Close to Beach, Town, & Hiking!

This clean, modern detached guest house is the perfect place to either retreat for a weekend or use as a home base to explore the canyon, beaches, and trails. Our gated property is in the desirable PO Tract & directly across the street from over 10,000 acres of wild parkland. Spend the day hiking to the waterfalls, then shop in funky Topanga village, then come home and relax by the fire pit. Or if you're coming to town for a wedding, retreat, or function--let us know. We can help by picking you up after an event! (Ubers can be challenging late at night in the canyon.)

We love Topanga and have lived here for over 20 years. Our property is unique as you can walk to town, easy access to trails, but it is also quite private. We do live on the poroperty but are 50 yards away— you wont hear us, we wont hear you. The only common area is the driveway.

We are an active family, so we have plenty of surfboards, SUP, bikes, boogie boards, and more available for a small fee. We are also happy to offer advice on how to best enjoy your stay.

Exactly like it appears

I needed a place to stay in Topanga because of a memorial service. It was close to my event and perfect for me. With no car… I could walk to town.

Lovely Sanctuary in the Hills

Lovely boho spot away from the hustle and bustle but conveniently close to beaches and west LA. Amelia is a wonderful host, communicate and helpful and she gave great recommendations!

Relaxing & Convenient Getaway

My husband, daughter (13) & I loved this home and Topanga! The owner was very kind and responsive. We felt like we had our own space and the unit itself was cozy and had a sweet welcome note. The parking lot for hiking at the state park is a few houses down, beach is 10 minutes & Topanga is fun & unique. Great fresh food at nearby restaurants. Thank you for an unforgettable experience. We will be back!

Wonderful secluded private place

Such a beautiful place that is very private. Host was delightful and left snacks. The fresh flowers and fruit and all the plants were such nice touches that made this place very homey and comfortable. Such a great little area that’s just outside the city where you feel like you’re secluded and with nature. I will definitely be back!

Acres of wilderness, minutes from Santa Monica

Amelia was a great host. Always available and helpful, but otherwise out of site. This home was clean and well-equipped; comfortable for two, with capacity for one or two more. The real attraction for us were the acres of beautiful wilderness literally across the street, and the colourful village of Topanga. Bring your bike or hiking boots. You’ll love it! Amelia was very helpful throughout. This is a nice little accessory dwelling unit. I had terrible weather (even lost power) but none of that was the host’s fault; just tough luck! Be warned, Topanga Canyon Road can, at times, have bumper to bumper traffic.

A different LA experience

Topanga was a great change of pace for our annual trip to LA. Loved everything about it. Felt like we were in the country but just a few minutes from Santa Monica and Malibu. Perfect for a dad daughter trip.

Adorable mountain cottage

We absolutely loved the little house in Topanga! Amelia was an amazing host and checked in with us to see if there was anything that could make our stay even better. The surfboards provided were a huge hit with my teenagers!! The house was adorably decorated and clean. The area was beautiful and close to the beach and Santa Monica. We loved exploring the funky shops in Topanga. We can't wait to return!

Pleasant stay in Topangs

We very much enjoyed our visit to Topanga. Amelia was a wonderful host and the property was clean and well equipped. Our only distraction is that the bed and the couch in the living area were not very comfortable. All in all, however, we had a great visit.

Peaceful Retreat

Perfect getaway

overnight trip along coast

Spending time with family along the coast and needed a place to stay. The guest house at Topanga was convenient and very cute!. Nice patio decor, nicely decorated and private. It's not a big place, so not ideal for more than 2, but overall worked just fine for us.

Perfect Location

This was the perfect location for my needs. The property was safe and close to town and not too far from many other places. I loved being visited by the resident cat and dogs (however if this isn’t for you they don’t bother you at all!).

Lovely stay in Topanga Canyon

We loved our stay at the darling guesthouse in Topanga Canyon. Our hosts were really helpful with any needs & we had easy access to the state park with incredible hikes with breathtaking views! Highly recommend!

Topanga stay

Dealt with some wifi outages in the area our first night in, and Amelia’s communication was great, she kept us updated the entire time. As for our stay, the area was very cozy and inviting. Plenty of privacy and awesome views. Would definitely recommend!

We've lived in Topanga for over 20 years. We've raised two kids, three dogs, and a few cats on this quiet property and couldn't be happier to share it with you!

Topanga offers everything--hiking, surfing, relaxing--our property is stunning yet close to all of the major locations.

Our place is uniquely located right across the street from the Topanga State Park, seconds from town, and very close to Topanga Canyon Boulevard. Driving in our neighborhood is about as easy as it gets in Topanga--no one lane roads, no dirt roads, etc.
Our place is fully fenced and gated so it is safe. Though we have dogs, they do not have access to your area, unless of course, you'd like them to visit. Just let us know.
