15 years of hosting, and these were the worst and most disgusting guests that we have ever had. We have this property listed on air bnb as well, and have nothing but positive reviews. We also have 6 other listings, all of which have great reviews. We called VRBO, and they were able to look through the messages between us and Leah, as well as the proof that we sent in, and they have told us that it is clear distortion, and are actually advising us to take her to small claims court, unless she takes down her false review. I attached a document with photos of the lies that were left in this review. Not only did they leave the house trashed, but their dog peed all over the carpet, and they didn't even attempt to clean it up. (We didn't even charge them for this). It also looks like someone threw up in the hot tub, and they just closed the lid and let it sit. I have a photo of that attached in the document as well. It was a brand new hot tub, and we had someone go out and put chemicals in it the morning before they got there. After their stay, we had to have someone come out and drain it and professionally clean it because of how gross they left it, and again, we did not charge them for this. She stated that there were no dressers in the bedrooms, which is a lie. The master bedroom has a dresser, as well as a walk in closet with lots of shelf space. The second bedroom has a dresser, as well as a closet with shelf space on top. The other two bedrooms have closets with a shelf on the top. Additionally, there are hangers in every closet. She stated that she wasn't able to plug the lamps in because they were no where near an outlet, which is also completely false, and you can see that if you look at the photos in the attached document. Not only are all of the lamps already plugged in, but they are also all directly in front of or next to an outlet. Leah then stated that there was a storm, and that there was lighting but no flashlights. Again, if you look at the photos in the attached document, you will see that we have an "emergency" drawer in the kitchen that has a flashlight, as well as extra batteries. Leah then complains about no welcome or exit notes. Not only do we sent check-in and check-out instructions over messages in the app, we do have a book sitting on the table right next to the front door with all of the instructions for the house, as well as lots of other useful information. She said that she had to purchase extension cords, sponges, and cleaning items. As pictured in the document, we set up a new sponge and soap on the kitchen counter prior to guests arriving. We also have spare sponges under the sink, as well as in the cabinet in the laundry room. This cabinet also has cleaning spray, disinfectant spray, paper towels, dish soap, laundry soap, trash bags, etc. She complained of the heater not working, but we explained to her over text that there are two AC units in the house, and that all she had to do was turn the heat up on the second one. She also complains of the pool not heating. This is because it was raining 2 of the days that they were here, so we communicated with her and agreed on turning the heat off for those 2 days since they would not be using the pool anyways, and we refunded her for the cost she had paid for heating it. Throughout her entire stay, she was sending messages at all hours of the night complaining about things that were just not true, but we happily and promptly responded to all of them, as we care about out guests and want to ensure that they are having a great stay. However, whenever we offered to go over and check out the problem she was talking about, or send someone out to look at anything, she refused. This clearly seemed like someone hoping to say anything that they can to get a refund. The weird part is that she never messaged us asking for a refund, she just turned to leaving this review. We chose to look the other way, and not charge her for the damages left by her and her family.
