Incredible Water Views on Carolina Beach - The Happy House

A coastal/modern style and freshly renovated lakefront bungalow in Carolina Beach with water and marsh views from every room in the house! The home features one king, two queens and a single sized bed, unlimited WiFi, kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, ping pong table, dart board, corn hole boards, ring toss, and so much more. The Happy House is sure to live up to its name as it provides activities for the entire family. It is a short 5 minute walk to the beach and 10 minute walk to the main strip. Please Note About Local Smells
Carolina Beach is a beautiful coastal town, but like many seaside areas, it can occasionally have some natural odors. Guests sometimes notice a “rotten egg” smell, which can come from two common sources:
• Water system – The local groundwater naturally contains hydrogen sulfide, which can give tap water a temporary odor, especially in the off-season when pipes and water heaters aren’t used as frequently. Running hot water for a few minutes usually clears it.
• Beach environment – At certain times, decomposing seaweed or organic material along the shoreline can create a sulfur-like smell.

These smells are a normal part of the area and not a reflection of cleanliness or water safety. Most days, guests don’t notice them at all, but I like to share this upfront so you know what to expect.

The house was incredibly cozy and photos are totally accurate. Easy walk to the beach and into town. Our crew walked/jogged around the path around the lake and the holiday lights were beautiful. Hosts were super responsive. If you’re staying in winter, do pay attention to the part of the ad about the sulfur smell. It was strong and persistent whenever the taps or shower were turned on, even when we ran the water for a while. Otherwise, everything was excellent. We hope to stay again!

Quick spring break getaway

Great location! Enjoyed walking the path around the lake and hanging out on the front porch. Easy walk to beach. Loved that beds were made and towels supplied. Since we could only stay a couple nights, nice not to have those chores on vacation.

Week by the beach

The property is beautiful, quiet and it is a short walk to the beach. The lake provides a great view and is surrounded by a walking path, which our dog enjoyed. Coffee shops and restaurants are within walking distance. The home is as the pictures show. Beds and couch were comfortable.

Great house

House was clean and in a great location. The only negative was the yard. Very grown up. It was pet friendly but no where for pet to go to bathroom or play. Needs landscaping and cut back.

Wedding getaway

Wonderful, Wonderful, Wonderful!! Great place, very clean, excellent communication and close to everything we needed. Easy walking and the view of the lake with the wildlife was an added bonus. The beaches and boardwalk were very nice, highly recommend this listing. Would definitely stay again.

A wonderful stay in a wonderful location. We enjoyed the home, the beach, the fireworks from the porch, walking the lake path each morning, darts, cornhole, the farmers market & so much more. Couldn’t have asked for a better week!!

Happy Stay at the Happy House

The house was as pictured and you couldn’t ask for a better location. It was difficult getting to the paddle boards because of the weeds, that is the only complaint. The landscape needs a little TLC other than that it definitely is a happy house, they have everything you need. My family loved the porch and beautiful lake view.

Family friendly house

Carolina Beach is definitely a family friendly beach town. They offer weekly concerts, markets, and fireworks. And this house is located on a quiet street next to a small lake that has a really nice playground, paddleboat rentals, and a child themed walking path. And the beach is close and easy to get to. Just watch when crossing streets as people don't often yield for walkers.

Weekend getaway

I booked this house for a weekend getaway for my family before my children return to school as a last summer vacation. We were able to see family while visiting also since we were fairly close to them which was nice. The home is very nice. We did not realize there was an outdoor shower until the day after check in. My only suggestion is to mention that on the welcome book so guests don’t track a lot of sand into the home. Being within walking distance of the beach, boardwalk, and lots of restaurants was great! We arrived about 30 minutes early so I contacted the host to see if we could enter the home a little early and she was quick to respond. We will definitely be returning! Thank you for sharing your beautiful lake front beach home with my family and I!

Great experience

We had a great time in the house. We enjoyed the short distance to the beach, close proximity to the boardwalk and restaurants. We appreciated your welcome sign with events and suggestions for all the local hot spots. Kitchen was stocked for cooking dinners. Check in and check out was so easy.

Hello and welcome to The Happy House! We are the Schott Family and we are so happy to have you! A little about us, Mac and I met on Wrightsville Beach a little over 6 years ago while attending UNCW. Fast forward a few years, a wedding, and a couple investment properties later, Myla Mae comes along! We knew we had to get back to the beach so she could grow up knowing the wonders of the sea. That's when we found this gem and it has filled our lives with nothing but happiness ever since.

The Happy House is located in the best spot on Carolina Beach (in our opinion!). There are stunning views from every room of the house and the sunrise and sunset never disappoint. Only a 5 minute walk to the beach and 10 minute walk to the main strip. You are tucked away on a dead-end road so everything is quiet and peaceful. There is also a walking trail right out the front door that wraps around the entire lake. It is truly magical.
