The house had some nice touches and loads of living space, though it felt like it had seen better days. For example, there were rips in some of the window shades, some of the lights didn't work, the master bedroom closet was filled with random old stuff (not empty as stated in the caption to the picture of the master bedroom in the listing) and thus not really usable, and there were a number of ants and mosquitoes inside when we arrived (though after we killed them all they didn't seem to return, so that may have been the fault of the prior guests for not being diligent about keeping doors closed). Also, there were several laminated signs posted around providing seemingly obvious instructions about how not to destroy the house. I don't fault the owner for posting these instructions as I'm sure careless prior guests have made the instructions necessary, but the signs did not enhance the ambiance. However, all of that was made up for by the beautiful setting. We felt like we were all alone out on our private peninsula, and the views from the sun room and from the lawn were stunning. So I say, go ahead and book this place, be prepared for the house to be a bit dowdy, and then go outside and enjoy nature, since that's why you're at Lake Qunault, after all!
