Turtle Crossing - just minutes from Main Street.

Walk through the door and let out a sigh. Welcome to the foothills of Appalachia. Our home sits back off the main road, where you'll often get to see deer and turkey coming down off the mountain in the mornings or late afternoons. Unplug yourself from the busy-ness of the world here. The house is filled with handmade art and thoughtful details to make your stay one to remember. Snuggle up with a cup of coffee or tea and watch a movie or just enjoy the quiet in our little holler.

Enjoy a cozy, 2-bedroom, 1-bath house. Kitchen equipped with coffee maker/coffee and tea. Basic cooking tools/ pots/pans, blender, toaster. We supply a phone charger in case you forget yours and filtered water in the fridge so you don't have to buy bottled water during your stay. Have breakfast on us! Find fresh eggs from our chickens (when the dog hasn't raided the chicken coop!), biscuit mix, butter, and hand-crafted jelly in the fridge.
If you NEED a TV, this is NOT the place for you. You won't find a television in the house. But you will find a projector with a dvd player and a small selection of movies. You can hook the player up to your phone and use your Netflix, Hulu account, etc. The projection is amazing crisp and clear and BIG.

We don't supply shampoo and body soap, so be sure to bring your own.

The outside of the house is monitored by a camera while empty. The camera is turned off once guests arrive.

You'll want to drive into town, as the road is curvy with no sidewalks. Once in town, you can rent an electric bike at Get Outside Kentucky and explore Berea on 2 wheels.

Other things to note
House has many hand-made crafts throughout (not the greatest for little inquisitive people). You'll also find a record player with a small selection of albums to choose from.

No shoes inside house. We appreciate it when guests use the shoe tray by the door. It helps us keep the dirt and germs outside where they belong!

No guests other than those on the original VRBO registration.

Buddy weekend

I'm a local who had a couple of friends coming from out of town. We wanted a quiet place out in the country but close enough to town proper. This place was perfect! We really loved the little house tucked away off the main road on a gorgeous piece of land.

Quiet Country Place

Quiet country place. We stayed for 3 nights and it was enjoyable. House had everything that we desired. The location is within driving of everything we wanted to visit and see. We highly recommend!

Short getaway

We were going to Richmond for a family wedding and my wife and i wanted to turn it into a small getaway. It was a delightful home, and their eggs and local goods were a meaningful touch. We would go back for sure.

Peaceful

The house is spotless. It is in a quiet setting with trees, birds and solitude. The beds are comfortable. The amenities are sufficient for a comfortable stay. The house is about 6 minutes from Berea and the College. We meet the nicest people in the town and at the College. It was a great stay.

Fantastic Stay

What a cute place - the farm fresh eggs, the muffin, pancake and biscuit mix were such a nice addition. Great communication with the hosts, too. Very clean and felt like home away from home.

Shot Spring Break 2025

We had an amazing time! We didn’t use the house much but it was just what we needed, when we needed it. We hiked. We went caving. We explored a bunch! no TV but we didn’t need it anyway. There is projector with movies to watch which was perfect. It does take a little time to warm up but if yo have patience you will be just fine using it. We danced to the record player and our kids made fun . Thanks for allowing us to use your home.

Excellent Rural Stay Opportunity

Cute two-bedroom home nestled in thick tree area just outside Berea. Home was in immaculate condition. We enjoyed retiring there each evening.

Comfortable House in the Woods

Charming little house located on beautifully landscaped grounds. Hosts provided more than we could have wanted. Short distance to the town center but far enough away to enjoy the serenity of the woods. Great place to catch up with old friends and take a deep breath.

Lovely cottage in the woods

Cottage was located in a peaceful, serene wooded area! It was very clean, comfortable and cozy. The fresh eggs and local muffin/biscuit mixes were a special treat. We loved the decor and local pottery. Having a washer and dryer was an added plus. Would definitely recommend staying here when visiting Berea!

Wonderful experience!

Charming house with lots of unique touches (artwork, binoculars, turntable, pottery, surrounding land, farm fresh eggs and bakery mixes, books, games). The property manager communicated nicely and was a joy to work with. We had two adults and two older teens and it was a great place to reconnect as a family. 3 miles outside of the main intersection of Berea while also feeling in the woods.

Home away from home!

This was such an adorable and welcoming place to stay! Thank you for helping to make our first trip to Kentucky a great experience!! So many extras and goodies. We couldn't find a lighter or matches for the firepit so my husband and son had to learn to use flint and steel. That just added to the fun! Thank you ❤️

Sweet house with everything you need!

We loved staying at this property! The house is cozy and comfortable. It's within driving distance of the things you could need and the community is nice. The bed was very comfortable and I slept well and the living spaces were awesome. I appreciated the water in the fridge, the space on the shower, and the thoughtful binder on the coffee table that explains everything. Plus, Google got us there just fine! Don't hesitate to book this house!

Exceptional

All the comforts of home! Quite, very private, tree lined all around a large mowed yard. The best part was that I’ve never stayed anywhere where it was so clean. I don’t know if we will be back that way again but if we are, we will definitely stay there if available.

WONDERFUL!!!

One of the nicest vrbo's we've stayed in for the price!! Very well stocked. The eggs and biscuit/pancake mixes were a really nice touch! Beds comfortable and super clean! The house is a couple miles out of town, but really easy to find. Close to everything! We hiked, ate, relaxed, and watched while the turkeys kept us company. LOOK NO FURTHER....BOOK NOW!!!
