House was pleasant, comfortable and clean. Yard was in great shape which made enjoying the sun and the canal even more pleasant. Host was prompt with response to question and trip overall was quite nice.

House on the water

The house was clean, had a dock in the back yard that was convenient for boating and a nice room to hang out and watch TV. Note, that the third bedroom is in a detached shed, it was nice and clean but I missed the description that indicated it's in a detached bunkhouse.

Fishing adventure

For a fishing trip on the St. Clair river, this property is just about perfect. The location is outstanding, the house is clean with an open floor plan providing plenty of room. Parking is limited but the host is willing and able to help accommodate. If and or when we make a return trip I will try my best to stay here again.

Just what we needed

Perfect place for our family and 2 dogs. Well equipped with many essentials I was thankful to discover after a long trip away from home like extra towels, laundry soap, shampoo, garbage bags, coffee!! Only wish the cable worked in the bunk house for my daughter but not the end of the world! So much to hear and see outdoors. You can feel the percussion of the ships going by and see them from the backyard!

Family Reunion

We had a lovely visit to the area and enjoyed a peaceful comfortable stay in this lovely house. It is right on the canal so nice view. I was amazed at how quiet it was even being right off the street we couldn't hear any cars. My sister who suffers from insomnia, actually slept very well there! I just wish we could have stayed longer. Kitchen was well stocked with all things a traveler would need. The bathroom even smaller is very updated and nicely done. The living room is huge with well lit all around windows and glass doors. We didn't use the detached as there were only four of us and to use the bathroom a guest would need to come into the house. Entrance to the house from the front is through the garage. Conveniently located for a beautiful drive near the St Clair river. If you look down the canal you can see the ships going by. It is also located near the park/ camp where you can park next to the river and watch the water activity. All around enjoyable!

Totally Disgusting

Unfortunately I’ve been pushed to this point of providing a review that is not flattering. We booked this property in hopes to be close to my mom for her birthday. We relied upon the pictures and reviews for some level of security, boy what a terrible situation we walked into. First, no front door, had to enter the property through the garage and it was dark, dirty and beer can filled. Next as we entered the home we were greeted with an overwhelming odor of mold, must and fish. The only bathroom had dirt on the floor and the kitchen was disgusting, fridge was filthy inside and out, including handles that were filthy. Next we opened the closet and saw blankets and sheets thrown on the floor in a bundle, which makes me wonder if the sheets were even clean, NO COVID cleaning done here. Contacted the owner, he said he would give us a full refund, we left the property immediately, did not stay longer than 30 min. Waited a few days and only a received 44% refund, Tried to contact Don Matka and no communication. Therefore my only recourse is to provide a negative review. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE I KNOW TO USE THIS VRBO. No CoVid measures used here. I have several pictures and wish I could include them for all to see.
