Welcome to our mountain chalet in Southwest Virginia, just one mile from downtown Stuart and minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway. This home offers a peaceful, private setting with easy access to wineries, hiking trails, state parks, and the relaxed charm of small-town mountain life. It is designed to make your stay comfortable, restful, and memorable, whether you are here to explore the area or simply slow down and enjoy the quiet.

The chalet features 1,600 square feet of living space on one main level, plus a loft that provides a quiet retreat for reading, journaling, or remote work. The layout is ideal for families, couples traveling together, or small groups who appreciate privacy. On one side of the home, you will find the primary suite with a king bed, private bathroom with a walk-in shower, and French doors that open to the back patio. On the opposite side are two additional bedrooms, one with a king bed and the other with a queen bed, along with a shared full bathroom that includes a whirlpool tub and shower.

The central living area is designed for gathering and relaxing. Comfortable seating and a 70-inch 4K Smart TV make it easy to unwind after a day on the Parkway or at local vineyards. The home is equipped with fiber-optic internet (300 Mbps), providing reliable connectivity for streaming, remote work, or staying in touch with family and friends during your stay.

The kitchen is fully stocked for guests who enjoy cooking with quality cookware and essentials to prepare full meals. The dining room seats eight, and the kitchen island offers additional seating for quick breakfasts or casual meals. The open layout encourages conversation and time spent together.

Upstairs, the loft offers a quiet space with wooded views. It is a comfortable spot for reading, working remotely, or taking in the peaceful setting.

Outdoors, you will find a private concrete patio with seating, a grill, and a fire pit. It is an inviting place to enjoy morning coffee, prepare dinner on the grill, or spend an evening around the fire under the clear mountain sky.

Although the home feels tucked away, downtown Stuart is just a mile away and offers local restaurants, shops, a grocery store, and essentials. Nearby attractions include the Blue Ridge Parkway, Chateau Morrisette and other regional wineries, Fairy Stone State Park, Philpott Lake, hiking trails, scenic overlooks, and the well-known bluegrass music venues and artisan markets in Floyd, Virginia.

We enjoyed a quiet stay of rest and relaxation. My sister and best friend from GA gathered to celebrate positive momentum in my cancer treatment. The kitchen is well appointed as we cooked in each day and the tv room is comfortable as we each shared new shows the others have watched. The bedrooms were comfortable for each of us. Communication was clear as were the check in and check out instructions.

Relaxing Retreat

Perfect spot for family visits.

We enjoyed our stay in Stuart. Havenwood Chalet is a perfect spot to reconnect with family. All amenities you could want and the view with the trees is to die for! The home was clean, well appointed and had plenty of space to spread out. Highly recommend.

Incredible house with all the amenities

This is one of the favorite houses we've ever stayed at. It's incredibly clean, the owners responsive, and everything you could think of is in this house. And the beds were incredibly comfortable! I would 100% stay here again.

Wonderful Mountain Getaway!

We were absolutely blown away by the generosity and thoughtfulness of the hosts who took care and pride in providing us a clean and gorgeous home with all the amenities we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay with our family. The home is nestled in such a serene and lovely forested area with gorgeous foliage and thanks to the nice, large windows we were able to delight in bird watching and other wildlife! We can't wait to stay here again!

Amazing Home!

This property is exactly like you see in the pictures, but better! Everything was so clean and everything you need in the kitchen to cook meals. The trees around the home make it feel secluded and nature is all around. We really enjoyed staying here.

It’s a lovely home. Needed to get batteries for the ceiling fan remote. Grill was unusable. Everything else was great. Had hoped for Mountain Views but the lookouts were not far.

Wow!! This place is impeccable. The attention to detail is amazing. The house is warm and beautiful. 5 stars for all the niceties: - Many little treats ( drinks, ice cream, coffee…) - Charging stations everywhere -luxurious sheets and towels - hammock in a serene setting - circular driveway - Lots of kitchenware and cookware - high quality furniture - a frothier for enhancing your morning coffee - Washer and dryer with detergent The Hosts were awesome going above and beyond to make our stay nice. They are very responsive to answer questions and provide assistance As a military family, we are very particular about cleanliness and where we stay - This is one of the very best worldwide.

Comfortable, Cozy, Private

This is the cleanest house we have ever stay in. The house was perfect for my husband, my 99-year-old Mother-law and myself. We visited with family for the week that live close by. Even though we had rain for several days the house was wonderfully cozy. The large dining room table was large enough to build a puzzle and still have plenty of room for five adults to feast. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking. We never ate out once! The loft was excellent for morning coffee and yoga. The beds were very comfortable. Our hosts were quick to respond to any questions or problems that came up.We will definitely stay at this home again when we visit the area.

To me, reviews are very important. Before I book, I always read the reviews, which is why I also find it important to leave detailed reviews. What I have to say about Havenwood Chalet is, it's perfect! There is nothing negative to say. 1. It is very clean, which is always extremely important to me. 2. It is private and peaceful; yet, within 2 minutes, you are in town for eating or grocery shopping. 3. The kitchen has almost everything you need for cooking. No need to purchase spices or cooking oil, or condiments. There is even an assortment of coffee and tea. 4. There are extra pillows and blankets, and plenty of towels. And the beds are very comfortable - we stayed in the master. 5. If you work remote while staying at Havenwood, the office was a gem for me. Quiet, and what a view! 6. The owner was extremely responsive. We truly enjoyed our stay and, if we are in the area again, wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Years ago, we operated a successful bed and breakfast here in the Blue Ridge region, and we fell in love with the beauty and hospitality of Patrick County. Today, we work in more traditional careers, but we still enjoy sharing this special place with others. Hosting allows us to welcome guests to a community that has meant so much to us and to offer the same comfort, warmth, and thoughtful care we valued when we ran our inn. Stuart and the surrounding Blue Ridge region offer a rare combination of natural beauty, small-town hospitality, and quiet, unhurried living. We hope to retire here one day, and until then, we are grateful to share the home with guests who appreciate the same sense of peace, scenery, and community that drew us here. Hosting allows us to see this special place through the eyes of our guests — their discoveries, their favorite trails, their new traditions — and we are always delighted when others fall in love with the area just as we have.

This home is intentionally uncluttered and professionally maintained — a calm, clean space designed for travelers, not a spare room filled with someone else’s belongings. Guests often comment that the house feels fresh, peaceful, and easy to settle into from the moment they arrive.

We use unscented laundry detergent and cleaning products to support guests with sensitivities and allergies. Crisp, clean linens and a fragrance-free environment create a comfortable stay for those who prefer a natural, neutral setting.

We welcome well-behaved dogs and responsible dog owners. While there is a pet fee to ensure the property remains pristine for every guest, we are pleased to accommodate four-legged travelers who enjoy quiet mountain life as much as their humans do. There is an outdoor kennel if you need to leave them while you are out for a while.

Although the home is just one mile from the center of Stuart, the property feels wonderfully private. On many days, you may not see another person unless you want to. This quiet setting allows space to breathe, rest, and reset — while still offering quick access to groceries, dining, and local shops.

Everything you need is on one level, making the home ideal for guests who prefer to avoid stairs. The loft adds a cozy, optional retreat, but you can enjoy a fully accessible, single-level stay with no loss of comfort or convenience.
