About this space
Near Abiquiu, dog friendly newer home, large fenced yard, peaceful, high mesa quiet with mountain views all around. Great launch point for outback adventures just 15-20 minutes from 2 good restaurants and Bode's Store, 45 minutes to Santa Fe and Los Alamos, 1 hour to Taos and Ojo Caliente. There's so much to discover here!

I've never had any trouble at all driving in this area, but it's good to be aware of the following:
~Pedernal Drive is well-maintained dirt and gravel, with some washboarding. Drive slow if precipitation. 4WD optimal if snow. Parking in the mesa neighborhood is no problem.
~The short stretch of 142 goes through a small farming community along the Chama River. Slow speed limits and speed bumps. Whether you come from 233 or 554, each direction crosses one wash on 142. These are almost always dry, but if there happens to be a heavy rain, 554 to 142 is the better route.
