We had to cancel because the property has no running water and no power. There is no A/C, there has been no maintenance of the grounds in years, and there is no running water — no operational plumbing of any kind. Of course none of this was mentioned in the listing (which falsely promised AC). The only positive was the property manager, who tried to help us find somewhere else to stay. Otherwise abysmal.

Camping in Hill Country
The location was remote in TX hill country, right next to a winery and we had fun stargazing in a dark-sky area and seeing wildlife. We had issues with the accuracy of the listing as there actually is no water, potable or otherwise, no shower and the communal fire pit was full of trash. The tent we were in was covered inside with mold, the inside liner was in bad condition and there was mouse feces in the bed. There was a second, newer liner over the top to keep out rain. The dirt road to the campsite is full of very deep ruts and was a bit difficult to find and navigate. The host was responsive when I reached out with some questions. We were a bit worried about a storm predicted to come in that thankfully we were out by the time it hit. It was a nice platform tent, camping area with a propane cook top and comfortable dining space. It is definitely camping rather than glamping as the toilet is in a corner of the tent you are in and guests empty it into a large hole on the property. It worked for our 2 night stay but the description needs updating as we were expecting a hot shower, water and a cleaner tent for the amount we ended up paying with all of the fees included. Most of the photos are of the smaller tent on the property that it seemed like the amenities listed were attached to but the listing description was confusing. Bring your own cooking supplies as there is no water to clean anything with and the pans provided sit out in the open.
