As a child, I was surrounded by hospitality at my family's resort on Clitherall Lake, immersing myself in the art of creating cherished moments. Those summer traditions, steeped in deep childhood nostalgia, became the driving force behind our house in Battle Lake.
Lately, I've been finding solace in the quiet embrace of a good book- that is, when I can find it since I have 4 kids and 2 dogs running wild. A nod to my Scandinavian roots, I cherish cozy moments when I can, like that first sip of your morning coffee when it's a little foggy outside and there's a light breeze coming through your windows.
Indulging in cookies while sharing laughs and (and judgment) watching reality shows with my husband is a guilty pleasure that adds a sprinkle of sweetness to my evening.
My favorite part about hosting a place like this is hearing those special moments or stories that families tell. And it's a real treat when a child leaves behind a drawing or something they made during their stay. Words truly can't be placed for that feeling it gives.
