Located in a historic Summerland landmark originally built in 1844 and thoughtfully updated by the current owner, this space features spectacular coastal views overlooking the ocean and the Channel Islands.

The three bedrooms provide sleeping for ten, and with a separate kitchenette as well as two sets of washer/dryers, everyone will be comfortable, relaxed, and well provided for.

The great room includes lots of space, comfortable seating areas, dining for ten, a TV/game area, a workspace, and yoga corner (or dance floor for the kids!).

Private access to the entire space and outdoor deck with spots for dining and lounging.

Amazing Space

My friends and I had such a fantastic time at this property! The layout and size was amazing for a larger group and it was so close to the beach and cute local restaurants and coffee shops! We had a lovely time here.

Great to walk to shops and restaurants.

Beautifully decorated and comfortable. We had a wonderful time. Every detail has been thought of. I would definitely recommend it.

Perfect stay!

This VRBO was perfect for my sister's Bachelorette. The living room is so spacious and comfortable and the ocean view is fantastic! This was one of the best hosted houses I have stayed in as they provide everything you can think of. They had plenty of kitchen supplies, towels, and even provided beach towels. Just a short walk to restaurants and shops! It was perfect.

Almost perfect....

The 10 of us enjoyed the plentiful space inside the units. We really appreciated that every nuclear family had a bedroom. The parking and location was easy to find. It was about 5-8 minute walk to the beach. To make it perfect is really communicating more details in the listing, that would have helped to set expectations, including we are besides the 101 highway and the double paned windows do a good job but don't completely eliminate the noise. In every view, including the ocean view, you will first see the highway. This was not what I was expecting. From the listing, it made the impression that it was beach side, which it is not. The Summerland village was so quaint, lovely, and a great way to walk from the house to the bird sanctuary. I hope you don't let it overdevelop. It would been nice to have some household cleaners available to help maintain the house as cleaning services don't come with less than 1 week reservation. The bedroom with the bunk beds have a curtain as a wall needs to be replaced with a real door and wall for noise control. The other bedroom with queen and daybed needs better ventilation such as a ceiling or floor fan as it gets a lot of sun and gets very hot there; and you can't open the windows unfortunately. We did like the close proximity to Montecito and downtown Santa Barbara. The host was great, responds quickly, and is detailed in his response. Again, we enjoyed the 2 lofts. Thank you!

Fantastic Property. Great Location. Relaxing

My entire extended family came out for 9 days to this beautiful property. 3 from New York. 2 from Florida. the remaining 3 from L.A. The first comment I heard from the boys from NY was "WOW! I thought this was going to be a tiny room somewhere! This is HUGE!" Obviously that made me feel like I'd made the right choice. There is plenty of space for being together, but also enough space to "get away" from the party. Also, the internet speed is VERY FAST which was important with all the early 20-somethings in the house constantly on their phones. But I can see how you could actually get some work done if you wanted a quick getaway. LOTS of things to do and eat within walking distance. We enough enough cars to go places, but we rarely had to use them. The beach and the adjacent park is an easy 5 minute walk. It has a playground and a dog wash. Very nice. Elle, the property manager, always responded to my texts immediately making it easy to get settled in and to handle any potential issues (of which there weren't any) If I'm being picky, there were two slight "issues": 1. The elevator from the parking lot is only reserved for those visitors with disabilities, but we easily unpacked on the alleyway next to the house. 2. The house is VERY close to both the freeway and the train tracks, so the outdoor space was rather noisy even though the view was amazing. Needless to say we all had a GREAT time and loved our stay!

Bachelorette Weekend

Booked the big yellow house for a bachelorette weekend in Santa Barbara and it was perfect! The place is massive and fit all 7 of us comfortably. This place is the perfect location right by a beach and a short drive to downtown SB. The house was super clean and had all the amenities we needed for a relaxing weekend away! It’s even more beautiful and spacious in person! Great views of the ocean from the windows and lots of natural light. Paul was easy to get a hold of and made the check in and check out process seamless. Would definitely recommend this to any groups visiting the area and would absolutely stay here again! Thanks so much! :)

Love Summerland Lofts!

Fantastic property, finished to a high standard providing all the basic necessities...and more! Beautiful views of the ocean and easy walk to the beach. Since you're beside the 101, the noise is an issue, but we managed it and slept pretty well in those comfortable beds. We highly recommend Summerland Lofts!

The perfect stay at the Big Yellow House 💛

We were in town as part of a college travel course and found the Big Yellow House to hold 9 of us and it was PERFECT! It was spacious and clean. The kitchen was great for preparing breakfast and dinner. Lots of laughs were shared in the kitchen and at the dinning table. The beds were extremely comfortable and the washers and dryers were very handy. With the beach being so close, it was great for morning and evening walks. The coffee shop down the road was fantastic, too. We highly recommend The Big Yellow House to anyone!

70th birthday celebration

The property is very clean and well appointed. The owner is very responsive and helpful. There is plenty of room for a big family gathering and meals. The property is right off the 101 so the view out of the main living room window and all bedroom windows includes the highway. The road noise is quite loud as well so we never really hung out at the outdoor patio. The bedrooms are nice, especially the back bedroom. However, one of the bedrooms has no door- just a curtain. Light sleepers may have difficulty. The property is walking distance to the beach which is very convenient. However, the property does not include beach chairs or beach umbrellas. You will need to bring your own. The unit is on the top floor. Although there is an elevator, I believe the owner needs to give you access to it for it to work. Just be aware if you have guests with limited mobility. We used the back entrance for my elderly grandmother so she didn’t have to walk up the stairs. However, even the back entrance has about 5 steps to get inside the unit. Overall, it was fine but I wish I had known the exact location of the property and it’s proximity to the highway.

Summerland Family Fun

Our extended family (3 generations) had a wonderful time at the Summerland Lofts. The place is spacious, has a beautiful ocean view, is new and modern and had everything we needed. We enjoyed many walks on the beach and the nearby trails -- beautiful and serene. We hope to visit again soon. Thank you!
