Take in ocean views from this beautifully renovated studio at the Hawaiian Monarch building. Located at the beginning of Waikiki, this unit offers ac, smart tv, wifi and cable a short walk from Fort DeRussy Beach Park, Hilton Hawaiian Village, Ala Wai Canal and more. The Hawaiian Monarch is a secured building that includes a spacious sun deck with grilling area, pool, and hot tub steps away from Waikiki’s shopping, restaurants, nightlife and activities. Take a short stroll to Ala Moana Beach Park, Ala Moana Center, and Hawaiian Convention Center.

This gorgeous, remodeled studio offers ocean views and sleeps 2. This unit is located on the 16th floor.

KITCHEN/DINING

This home includes a kitchenette with a hot plate (portable stove), microwave, coffee pot, mini fridge/freezer, dishes, cups, cutlery and basic cookware.

LIVING/SLEEPING AREA

This unit includes a queen size bed (sleeps 2 guests), dining area for 2 guests, smart tv, and ac.

The Hawaiian Monarch building offers upgraded amenities such as a giant Sundeck, pool and hot tub, paid fitness center (one-time nominal fee), paid luggage storage (one-time nominal fee), paid laundry (nominal fee). The building lobby levels also have a locally-owned coffee shop, car rental, King’s (bar), convenience store and restaurant (Burger & Sushi). Building has 24/7 security, elevators and attached, secured garage.

PARKING

This home does NOT come with parking. Paid parking is offered based on availability by the attached garage for a daily fee of approximately $40/day. Please note that the parking is not owned by or offered by us. It is ran by a separate company with no affiliation with this rental, and prices and availability are subject to change at any time.

Nestled at the beginning of Waikiki along the palm-tree dotted Ala Wai Canal, the Hawaiian Monarch offers easy access to Honolulu’s diverse offerings.

Take a short walk to the restaurant-filled Hilton Hawaiian Village or the adjacent protected bay for swimming, picnic-ing and paddle boarding. Explore nearby Fort DeRussy Beach Park, soft-sanded beaches, famous restaurants, surf lessons, paddle board rentals, and shopping. Close to Hawaii Convention Center, Royal Hawaiian Center, Ala Moana Beach Park, Ala Moana Center, Diamond Head State Monument and more.

This unit is not part of the hotel pool. This property is independently owned and managed and does not offer/include daily cleanings or linen services. This property does not include daily service, and requests may be pushed to the next business day.

Cute studio for downtown stay

Cute studio is at the end of the busy strip, which was nice when it came to being able to walk to stores, but not having it too crowded when trying to drive. Place was clean with some necessities. Thanks for the stay!

Check in information was not sent on time and caused a little stress for us, but fortunately we were able to reach someone to help. Overall, price and location is what I value most so I would definitely stay here again.

The room I stayed in is not run by the hotel itself but it is in mad need of some repairs and a deep clean. If you’re staying for a long period of time I’d look elsewhere. The parking cost alone is crazy but that’s most of the island. Communication for the reservation and room key was horrible

For the price. Pretrybgood

Location is only a few blocks to beach and main drag. So price is great for that. I felt they could have cleaned the space a bit deeper, but they sent the cleaner back up. Had an issue with toilet and they got on it right away. I would put in a broom for sure as sand is a given and would be nice to sweep up. Loose the dog picture in the bathroom. Otherwise we could cook our meals and had a great view. We would stay here again as price was good.

Just a Bad Experience

I'm disabled, so i had to stay in my room most of the time but it ended up being a not so great experience. For the crazy amount of money they charge you, you have to take out your own trash, wash your own towels, buy your own hand soap, and dont forget to clean the coffee pot and machine (i was too disgusted to even make myself a cup of tea even AFTER i cleaned out the machine TWICE) because the staff won't.and don't look under the bed and behind the tv if you dont like dust. And i mean layers of DUST. I dont know what exactly they clc clean but it certainly isnt the entire room. I couldnt even watch TV there were so many issues with it and it was never resolved. Even thjs text box is so messed up i cant see half of what I'm typing. Theres a nice convenience store and cafe in the hotel lobby and there is a restaurant and pool, and a bunch of food trucks right outside, but it all becomes null and void when you become a hotel employee and are forced to take out your own trash, wash your towels (at least, thats what i understand from the instructions i was sent. I could be wrong), and provide your own hand soap. Oh, i forgot the constant reek of mary jane smell coming into my room every day. If i am ever back in Hawaii, I'm steering clear of this place. resolved. resolved. If you can helroom.

Good and bad

Well let’s start with checking in? The lockbox issue was a learning curve. We had to get security to help us. When we got to our room, the door was partially open. We were initially concerned that someone was robbing the place. We eventually made it known that we were there and that we would let anyone in their leave without incident. We waited. No one said anything or came out so we decided to go in. The bed is comfortable, but don’t look at the mattress, because you probably will not want to sleep on it. Good selection of pillows, but again don’t look at the pillows. Somewhere white others quite yellow. The amenities were as described. The pictures of the room on the app we’re taking with a wide angle lens so be prepared for that. The view was great. When I took my socks off the first night before I went to bed, they were filthy, covered in dirt and hair from the floor in the unit. The air conditioner is right beside the bed, and if you want it on in the evening, you have to be prepared for cold air blowing on you all night. We had sheets that did not fit the bed properly. We felt like we were sleeping in a short sheeted bed the first night. They did give us different sheets for the rest of our stay that were better fitted. The unit is a 20 minute walk to proper Waikiki beach. But there are closer beach accesses. There is plenty of good restaurants nearby. We felt very safe and secure in our unit after our initial experience. The pool was clean, but the water was quite cold

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Checking in and out was messy but at least it was handled quickly when things were brought up. The property was okay definitely could be updated and miner things patched and painted. I stayed for three weeks and it was okay but at least I’m a good location. The laundry room was a plus and the pool was pretty good as well. I think maybe there should be a different protocol if longer stays are happening just in my personal opinion.

We also used the hot tub in the pool area once, and the washing machine service. Check-in, check-out, and communication were great. I totally recommend this place and I will choose it for my next stay for sure! Mahalo!Side note: On arrival, we had a problem with the towels and small ants by the window (but expect to find these ants everywhere in Hawaii, no matter where you go) and the host arranged new towels and ants repellent for the very next day.
