The apartment is spacious and the location is indeed great. Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended for us.
We arrived to find one bathroom out of commission due to a prior water leak; there were holes in the drywall and a large dehumidifier in place. This had clearly been going on for a while, and yet was not disclosed prior to our occupancy. In the middle of our stay, a construction crew showed up unannounced to tear out drywall, creating a whole different "situation".
The patina of dust in the unit strongly suggested that nobody had stayed there for months (I seriously question the legitimacy of the glowing review from one month prior to our stay). There were lots of other issues. Multiple blind slats were broken or missing, allowing halogen light from the adjacent construction to pour into both bedrooms. A closet shelf was broken, the light fixture didn't work, a towel bar had been ripped out of the one working bathroom,, the kitchen lacked knives and towels... all suggesting lack of attention to detail (at best).
And as previously mentioned, the large and noisy construction project immediately outside our unit started up every day at 7 AM. This was also not disclosed at time of our rental.
The on-site manager seemed to be in way over his head, often taking hours to respond to our texts and providing inadequate solutions to most of our concerns.
I have since spoken with the owner. He was apologetic and I hope that he is sincere in doing better. This place has potential.
