- There is no direct access to Lake Michigan. We recommend visiting Lake Michigan at Douglas Beach 0.5 miles away.

Liberty Bluff is a stunning Lake Michigan retreat designed to offer space, comfort, and unforgettable views for families or groups. Excellent location. Lots of room. Well equipped kitchen. Very good patio/outdoor space. Very easy check in and check out. A little pricey. Electric could stand updating - too few outlets, and blew a circuit breaker a couple of times. One bedroom without AC (and it needed it). Barely enough parking for our group. Despite the few "gripes", we were very happy overall, and would stay there again.

Disappointing

Primary bed not comfortable. Bunk bed impossible for adults. Parking not acceptable. Neighbors very rude about it. Construction going on on top of no parking. No propane for grill even after I asked that it be checked. Had two empty tanks. Very cluttered kitchen cabinets. No cushions for the kitchen bench seating. Heat left on upstairs making the bathrooms unbearable when we got there. Had to figure out how to turn them off. Powering up tv’s not explained well. Kitchen one never worked even after we purchased new batteries for remotes. A very important safety hazard was no hand rails on the outside steps and the main stairway. Overall it was ok. But I have stayed in nicer places for a much cheaper price. Also as we walked along the lake shore road almost all home had access to the lake.

Saugatuck

Property was large and well equipped. There are plenty of dishes, pots and pans, family games - everything you need. However, due to the price we paid I expected a more pristine property. It definitely needs some tender loving care and minor repairs. The dishwasher tips out when the drawers are pulled out since it was never screwed into the counter top. The propane grill works (after I changed the propane tank) but needs some parts replaced and the rest cleaned. The sink in the bar area drips constantly. This is all minor. The most annoying thing was the fact the steps to the lake were not available so we had to walk 1/2 a mile to the public access. We were told the stairs weren’t accessible, but I was led to believe it was due to recent erosion. It is obvious looking at the brush overgrowth those stairs have not been used for a LONG time. All the other neighbors have their staircase functional, so for this price point those stairs should be fixed.
