Game room, hot tub, easy access, great location!
Pssst! Hey Parents! Are you looking for a cabin that's super close to the lake, but isn't ON the lake? As parents of small children, that's exactly what we were looking for in our cabin. A place close to everything, where we can all relax without having to be vigilant about watching our kids dockside 24/7. In fact, we love sipping coffee on the front porch, surrounded by the forest and without a neighbor in sight, while our kids play in the yard.
Our paved and flat driveway is a major plus in this area (perfect for parking a boat or RV). We've included as many screen-free games as possible (including a huge game room) so you can unplug and enjoy being present with your family and friends. Of course, you can always relax in the hot tub or around the fire pit, too. We hope you love BaseCamp Blue Ridge as much as we do!
“We had planned activities every day, but it was such a good place to hang out, we canceled some to spend more time at the cabin!” - Nelly
As a military family, we're proud to donate 10% of our annual profits to support veterans and first responders through the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
The Space
As the owners of BaseCamp Blue Ridge, we want you to feel welcome in our beloved cabin getaway. This cabin holds a special place in our hearts because it provides lots of opportunities for us to make memories with our 4 children, along with our extended family. We're happy to share it and hope your visit sparks a new family tradition for you.
“My family and I spent a week here and felt right at home! … We will definitely be back!” - Crystal
OUR LOCATION:
What really makes this home stand out is where it's located: private and secluded but just minutes from the lake, downtown, outdoor adventures and multiple stores for staples. It feels like you're nestled up in the mountains without the inconvenience of the mountain roads.
“The location of the cabin was perfect, 5 minutes away from restaurants and only 10 minutes from downtown Blue Ridge. I would recommend this cabin to anyone!” – Meredith
“It's also very close to local attractions, restaurants, and most importantly, Walmart!” – Kathleen
THE LAYOUT:
“Great place for a family/friend group. Especially with kids. The game room was great, and the hot tub and fire pit. The kids loved the basement too.” - Kim
When you walk in, you're greeted by a huge mural of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the welcoming, open-concept kitchen, dining and living space. Off of the kitchen is access to the inviting deck! On this level you'll also find three of the bedrooms, including the primary suite.
On the lower level is an expansive basement filled with games, a map-filled planning area, and a home theater set up! You'll also find another bedroom with an ensuite bathroom, as well as a 'bunk space' with 5 total twin beds and some huge bean bags.
Outside is a vast yard and patio living space. And, of course, our beloved 'garage game room.'
UPSTAIRS LIVING SPACE:
This cozy space features two comfortable leather couches that face the stone fireplace and television above the mantel.
KITCHEN & DINING:
You'll find that the kitchen is stocked with everything you need – from cookware to pantry staples. There's ample cabinet and counter space as well as a complementary coffee bar! It's also an eat-in kitchen with a rustic farmhouse dining table just steps away.
BEDROOMS & BATHROOMS:
On the main floor is our primary King bedroom with an ensuite bathroom, as well as two Queen bedrooms with access to an additional full bathroom. On the lower level is an 'open bunk space' with four twin beds and a trundle, as well as the 4th bedroom with a Queen bed and ensuite full bath.
We've themed each of our bedrooms around a unique feature of the area – Amicalola Falls, the Blue Ridge Scenic Railroad, the fall foliage of Vogel State Park and the series of apple orchards throughout the region! Of course, we didn't forget the bunk area, where you can dive under the covers and into the “lake”!
All of the bedrooms feature smart TVs, and all of our bathrooms are equipped with basic toiletries and towels.
DOWNSTAIRS:
The finished basement is huge and features a giant lake mural! There's a bean bag lounge area, a little kids' area, a poker table, a map-filled adventure planning corner, and built-in bar with a popcorn maker.
The popcorn maker is for movie nights, which are a must, because of our home theater – complete with two cozy couches, one lofted behind the other for true theater-style seating.
THE GARAGE GAME ROOM:
If you ever don't hear from the kids in a while, they're probably in here! From shuffleboard and foosball to air hockey and carnival-style basketball, the garage has it all. And when the weather's nice, put up the garage door for open-air vibes.
OUTDOOR AREA:
Your Blue Ridge adventures can start right in the massive yard. It's quite flat, making it prime for our lawn games (including plastic axe throwing) or pick-up kickball matches!
Then, there's the front porch with rocking chairs and a porch swing – because what cabin retreat is complete without those?
The back deck features a grill and outdoor dining table, conveniently just steps from the kitchen.
On the ground level is the patio with the 6-person hot tub and relaxing, hammock-style chairs. In the backyard that juts right up onto the tree line, there's a fire pit for roasting s'mores and sharing stories. This area features large prints of Anna Ruby Falls, another gem in North Georgia!
OUR PURPOSE:
We are proud to be a military family! We have made the commitment to ourselves and our guests to donate 10% of BaseCamp Blue Ridge's annual profits to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. This organization's work is critical to supporting our veterans and first responders! Visit their website to learn more.
THE AREA:
Outdoor enthusiasts will find no shortage of adventures in the Blue Ridge area, from hiking trails, mountain biking, fishing and boating, golf, and more.
We've picked out our own favorite spots and have plenty of 'local' knowledge that we love to share. After booking, feel free to message us for recommendations of hiking spots, adventure outfitters, boat rental companies, and beyond.
But for now, here are some of our favorites:
• Mercier Orchards - This is a must for everyone! It's got fresh fruit picking and wine tasting for the adults. Plus a shop for fresh produce and local goods.
• Das Kaffee Haus - This is the friendliest coffee shop! The brown sugar cinnamon latte and their hot chocolate are our favorites.
• Boat Dock Bar & Grill - Right at Lake Blue Ridge Marina is this quintessential lakeside bar and restaurant. The views are great, the vibe is tropical, and it's a fun, casual, family-friendly spot.
• Aska Adventure Area - This is THE area for exploration! From mom-and-pop shops, excursion outfitters, and hiking trails, there's no shortage of opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors.
• Shallowford Bridge Tubing - These folks run the oldest family-owned tubing company in the Aska Adventure Area. Enjoy a fun-filled river trip as they equip you with everything you need and provide pickup and drop off along the river.
• Toccoa River Swinging Bridge - This is a local favorite! It's just a short hike from the parking lot to get to the bridge, but the road to the parking lot is quite bump,y so be careful taking standard cars there if there's recently been rain.
—WHERE YOU'LL BE—
“It is close to Blue Ridge's shopping and restaurants but felt far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet of the country.” - Lisa
It's just 7 minutes from our driveway to Downtown Blue Ridge! The lake is just down the road and the Lake Blue Ridge Marina and Day Use Area are both just a 5 minute drive away.
And for adventures that may take you into the wild, the Aska Trail System is less than 15 minutes away.
We chose Safiri to host our property because of their keen attention to detail and fantastic focus on customer service. They really are the best and we know you will be in good hands! Enjoy BaseCamp Blue Ridge...again, we hope you love it as much as we do!
“P.S. They don't make you do all that cleaning that most Airbnbs do when you check out. So checking out was a breeze!”- Kathleen
