A new and larger dock will be installed the first 2 weeks of May 2021.

This would have been a very positive review but one little glitch turned it bad. The tenant was happy until the cleaning crew charged for additional hours. The tenant objected to this charge. We looked into the matter and ultimately decided to issue a FULL refund to the tenant. We do our best to make our tenants happy. While we welcome constructive criticism and helpful feedback, we also ask that tenants please leave accurate comments. That said, there are a few other misunderstandings we would like to clarify. 1. The cable TV and internet services are provided by Comcast. The tenant did not mention that it did not work. It was in working order before and after his stay. There has never been a complaint about the TV -37 inch Vizio flat screen- or the cable service. 2. The cistern holds over 14,000 gallons and is maintained at 9,000 gallons or more at all times. That is enough to provide water for several months. We do not depend on rain or storms. Cistern water is purer and softer than local city water. There is a reverse osmosis water purification system. There has never been an issue. 3. The views from the balconies in the pictures are current. There are views in different directions from various balconies: over the harbor, canal, salt pond and, at a distance, open ocean. 4. The home has been continuously updated. Excerpt from Tenants message: Sent: Wednesday, July 18, 2012 10:15 PM I do not want to be nasty because we did have a lovely stay with no hitches, but if you take the word of this lazy cleaning lady trying to stick me up for another $75, then ill have to leave a comment saying so on vrbo. Again this tenant was happy until the cleaning fee was incurred. As a good faith gesture the money was refunded prior to the posting of his review.

We welcome input and suggestions from our renters. We are glad to hear that everyone loves the dock. The dock was completed in May of 2021. The lower keys took a devastating hit from Hurricane Irma in 2017. The house was severely damaged from that storm hence the cosmetic water damage to some of the wood in the house. Other updates to the home have been less obvious such as steel reinforcement, plumbing improvements, insulation, hurricane windows, a new dishwasher, and a new washer & dryer. Each update requires us to source material and labor which has been challenging due to the hurricanes and during and since covid. Many more updates and upgrades are in the planning phases including furniture upgrades and tile work. Some tile work was accomplished on May 31 and June 1st, 2023 when we had an extra day between tenants. We fully recognize that the interior of the home needs improvements and updating. That said, we feel the rental rate of the property is appropriately set to compensate for these temporary shortcomings. The renters in March and the renters in April 2023 have reserved March/April & April/May for 2024. Repeat renters are a common occurrence. It is our policy to replace bedding, pillows, and towels on an annual basis. We appreciate the suggestion to replace these items more frequently. Some years the house gets more wear and tear than others, and it can be tricky to gauge these things. We normally supply 2 to 3 towels and washcloths per person (6 persons). We regret that this did not happen for your rental. If you had contacted us about this issue during your rental, we would have gladly and swiftly supplied the correct number of towels and washcloths. Furthermore, upon request we would have also brought you new bedding and pillows. It is important to us that you are comfortable during your stay. We hope that despite your disappointment in the furnishings and linens that you were able to enjoy our little piece of paradise in the keys. It is a beautiful and magical location to be for a month. We look forward to hosting you again once we have completed updating our property. Until then, we wish you many happy adventures.
