Nauti Mermaid is a well-cared-for coastal condo designed for couples and solo travelers who value comfort, order, and a quieter beach experience. Located just across the street from the Gulf of Mexico with deeded beach access, it offers an easy balance of convenience and calm. Close to dining and shopping yet removed from the busiest areas, this is a relaxed home base for guests who want to enjoy the coast at their own pace. Well-behaved pets are welcome.

🌊 The Location
You’ll be just 1.5 miles from the heart of Gulf Shores—close enough to enjoy the restaurants, shopping, and nightlife, yet tucked into a quiet stretch of beachside living. Waves Grocery, Beach House Kitchen & Cocktails, and S&S Seafood are just steps away, and our deeded beach access is directly across the street.

📝 Things to Know

Great condo

We had a great time in this condo.....clean with all supplies needed. Easy walk to beach and easy drive to all things needed. The host checked in often and we had great conversations. Would stay again

I first discovered Gulf Shores in 1990 while attending a conference and immediately connected with the character of the small coastal town. What began as a single visit turned into years of returning for vacations, even when traveling with two golden retrievers made finding suitable accommodations a challenge at the time.

In 2002, I purchased Nauti Mermaid with the intention of creating a true home away from home, one that welcomed well-behaved pets and offered the kind of comfort and care I struggled to find as a traveler. I moved into the condo in 2005 and lived there until marrying my husband, Tim, in 2007.

That same year, we founded Gone Coastal in Gulf Shores with a commitment to professionally hosting guests who appreciate a well-maintained space, clear communication, and a respectful, pet-friendly environment. Since 2007, we’ve been welcoming guests with a focus on thoughtful details, consistency, and creating a stay we would choose for ourselves.

No guessing. No public parking hunt. No long walks hauling gear. Guests cross the street and are on the sand via clearly marked deeded access.

The layout, size, and furnishings are intentional. This is not a crammed unit pretending to fit large groups.

Pets are welcome because the space was created with responsible pet owners in mind, not as an afterthought. A basket with stainless steel food and water bowls, towels for sandy paws and baths, pick-up bags, and enzyme cleaner is provided for convenience.

5. Host-managed since 2007
This is not a corporate turnover unit. The owners are hands-on, local, and invested.

6. Clear expectations and professional systems
Rental agreement, security deposit hold, and ID verification and pet fees are standard.

7. Practical, real-life amenities
In-unit washer and dryer, bulk toiletries, quality paper products, functional kitchen, and usable storage.

8. Small, low-density complex
Only 19 units total.
