Better than the pictures

The home was clean, organized, beautiful decorated and welcoming. The views from the first floor and porch of Flathead Lake were very impressive. The home was accessible for our son who is in a wheelchair, first floor bathroom door was big enough for him to get through. The best part of the home was that our extended family could fit and have time together! A week we will not forget.

Great family vacation

Our stay at Buena Vista was wonderful. House and property was ideal for my large group. Home had everything we needed. Views were great as was the location on the lake. Host was readily available and stopped by to introduce herself. House has a great layout offering space and privacy for everyone. We cant wait to come back

Beautiful views and setting! The house was immaculate and spacious -- very comfortable. The kitchen was well-equipped and the landscaping was gorgeous. We had a small group but the house could accommodate a larger one. The hosts were responsive and helpful as well.

Exceeded our Expectations!

Our stay at Bella Vista was everything and more than we were hoping for! The space was clean and comfortable for our group of 11. The view was beautiful and the location was perfect. Glacier National Park was about a 45 minute drive from the house and it was absolutely incredible! We also loved kayaking on Flathead lake and admiring the 'rainbow rocks' on shore. The mountain coaster in Somers was a lot of fun for the kids (kind of a short ride for the price, but still fun!) We loved being able to relax in the hot tub after a long day of hiking. The fully stocked kitchen allowed us to prepare most of our meals at the house. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely return!

Wonderful week

We had 2 families of 5, the layout was perfect for togetherness and also still allowing for privacy if needed. The house was extremely clean....maybe the cleanest VRBO listing I have ever stayed in. Very comfortable accomodations. Our primary goal was Glacier National Park, the location was a bit of a drive for different parts of GNP, but was always nice to come back to a clean comfy place to relax after a long day on the road. We rented a boat on Flathead Lake.....absolutely wonderful, would recommend to anyone. Only hesitation would be the water was quite cold at 56 degrees. The house was well equipped with cooking supplies and lots of bear spray on site. We actually were able to return the ones we purchased and able to use the ones left behind.....luckily we did not have to use it, although we did see grizzlies on our hikes. Would recomment this listing to anyone looking for a well maintainted property with wonderful lake views and beautiful sunrises in the mornings.

Excellent place for family gatherings

The host was great and has thought of every last detail to truly make this a home away from home. We stayed a week with our adult sons and their families (5 children under 5). The home has so much to offer, we never felt crowded or on top of each other. There are supplies (possibly left by previous guests) that were available to use and not often found in homes. Sitting on the patio was so relaxing even with the sounds of traffic from the highway below. Great memories were made at Bella Vista!

Wonderful property!

I and members of my immediate and extended family stayed at this property in late May/early June 2024. We were coming to the area for Glacier National Park and the surrounding areas and wanted a base with a view of the mountains a reasonable distance from our activities. This house was a great place for us - with six adults we were grateful for the number of bedrooms/bathrooms and the roomy common areas. The house is clean and quiet. The best thing about it is probably the terrific view of Flathead Lake and the mountains beyond. You will not be disappointed in a stay here.

I highly recommend this property. The views are spectacular. The location is perfectly nestled into the hillside and close to groceries, gas, and coffee shops! This home is CLEAN and cozy. The bedding is wonderful too, and the kitchen is stocked with all of the pots, pans and cooking utensils that you need you to support a family vacation. Best vacay home ever!

This was our second stay at Bella Vista this year. The house is so well situated for a perfect adventure in and around Glacier National Park. After days of hiking, horseback riding, brewery-hopping, and alpine sliding, it was always nice to come home to such spacious comfort. The deck with Flathead Lake view includes a hot tub and fantastic grill. We star-gazed and played endless board games, creating memories that will last a lifetime. The beds are very comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked. Lots of extras in the house that make you feel right at home. Communication with owners was without a hitch and we know we shall return!

Wonderful Family Vacation!

This home is beautiful, spacious, clean and has the most incredible views! Our family of 9 enjoyed our time here, as it has all the comforts of home! The hosts are great, and even though the A/C system went out on our 3rd day there, Robin & Patti did everything they possibly could to keep us comfortable, by bringing in extra fans! They were even so kind as to leave us gift certificates for a fabulous meal at a local restaurant! Love this home, the views, and the entire area and if we’re ever back in that part of Montana again, we will be staying here!

Montana retreat

Beautiful well equipped property with awesome views. Very clean. Wonderful place to stay. Luxurious comfort

Four retired couples found enough room in this house, deck and yard to read, play cards, sleep, cook, converse. And we hiked the local, state and national parks. Went boating and kayaking on the lakes. This house is absolutely perfect for a family or group of friends. Wonderfully equipped to be your home away from home.

Our Montana Stay

The home was perfect for our family. Great location, the only issue was that the property owner showed up daily to either work on the house or the yard area, although he was very friendly it felt a little awkward with him being there and us at the same time.

Unbelievably Beautiful Views!!!

We loved Bella Vista!! The views of the lake are amazing! The home had everything we needed. We cooked meals and we ate out. The town of Lakeside has wonderful restaurants close by with a great coffee shop called Glacier Perks, best cinnamon rolls ever! And in Somer, just down the road we had breakfast at the cutest little cafe. The owners make sure you have great information about the area and Robin was right there anytime we had a question with a quick response or to help out! We definitely recommend Bella Vista!

Fantastic home and location

We came to Kalispell for my daughters wedding at Jewel Basin. I searched high and low for the perfect place for my immediate family and dearest friends to all stay together - this home did not disappoint. It was the perfect location and the home was awesome; well maintained, 5 bedrooms suited the 10 adults with plenty of room for everyone. Loved the open main floor where we all gathered for meals and laughter, the views off the deck were spectacular, the hot tub was enjoyed by all on the crisp mornings and evenings. We even had a night around the fire pit exchanging stories and relaxing. I would definitely stay here again and our entire group loved the place! Thanks so much for your attention to detail and sharing your lovely home; it made this magical wedding weekend so special.

After a 5 year epic voyage of sailing a small boat around the world and writing the books “Dove” and “The Boy Who Sailed Around The World Alone”, Patti and I left the west coast of California forty two years ago to ride the wave of the “Back to the Land Movement” in Montana. We bought a quarter section of mountain top for $95 dollars an acre, built our log home, grew our own food and raised the gamut of farm critters. We also wrote about our struggles of growing in the Christian faith and our experiences of trying to live simply in “Home is the Sailor”. After 32 years we were missing the water so in 2003 we bought an older cabin on Flathead Lake. After spending our first night there we never spent another at the ranch and have never once looked back. We had come home. Two years later we built and moved into our dream home next door to our lovely historic cabin. After we had a couple of wonderful family “VRBO” vacations in Mexico we decided to list our lake cabin as a VRBO rental. It was a great experience. But as time goes on the wanderlust was creeping back and we wanted to do some more traveling. We sold our lake cabin, built nearby a wonderful 3750 sq. ft. “VRBO” yearly rental, 'Bella Vista', on the hillside overlooking Somers Bay and now are offering our personal home, 'A Delightful Sailor's Home', as a VRBO summer rental as we come and go. We hope you will enjoy the Flathead Valley as much as we do.

Our home in Somers is nestled on the northwest side of beautiful Flathead Lake. Flathead Lake is 28 miles long and up to 15 miles wide. The lake’s sparkling waters and miles of tree-lined shore offer unlimited recreational opportunities and wildlife habitat. Overlooking it all are the magnificent Swan and Mission Mountain ranges.

A mile away along the paved walking and bike path is Somers Bay Café, serving great breakfasts and lunches. A 5 minute drive south to Lakeside is the Tamarack Brewing Company, a fun spot to relax and have a great meal and handcrafted ales.

Located 8 miles south of Kalispell, our community is the destination spot for locals as well as tourists. All four seasons, Somers offers something for everyone. Ski the slopes of Blacktail Mountain (only 30 minutes away) to sailing and boating majestic Flathead Lake. We are 30 minutes from Glacier Park International Airport and only 45 minutes from the magnificent Glacier National Park and Whitefish Mountain Resort (Big Mountain).

Whether you are looking to relax or to play we have it all. Stay inside and catch a movie in our comfy home or just observe the spectacular lake views. Just a quick 10 minute drive away you will also find Eagle Bend Golf Club, one of the best courses in the Northwest. Other areas of interest include the Bigfork Playhouse, Glacier Symphony and Chorale, Hockaday Museum of Art, the Conrad Mansion, and the Central School Museum.
