Oceanfront Tranquility at Hale Maluhia, Kona Coast

Beautiful oceanfront property featuring a private gated home with two additional separate king Bedroom Suites, each with private entrances. Enjoy unobstructed ocean views of the Pacific Ocean, Kona Coast, and Kahalu'u Beach with stunning sunsets. This property includes a gorgeous solar-heated glass tile swimming pool with a spa.

Our home is named 'Hale Maluhia,' 'House of Peace.' It truly is the perfect place to gather with family and friends to relax and rejuvenate on the soothing Big Island of Hawaii. We invite you to come and enjoy our traditional Hawaiian-style tropical retreat for a relaxing vacation.

This traditional Hawaiian Style home is divided into three areas but only rented all together; the Main Hale, the Lower Garden Suite, and the Ohana Suite. Each area is oceanfront with beautiful ocean views and cooling tropical breezes. The floor, ceiling fans, and trade winds provide a truly comfortable environment as NO AC is available. This home is beautifully anointed with traditional Hawaiian decor and comfortable furnishings.

The Main Hale features the full kitchen, dining, and entertaining center of the property in addition to the Primary Bedroom Suite with king bed accommodations and a private bath. The Great Room includes a generously stocked kitchen with upscale utensils and cookware and an indoor dining area with seating for 8. The living room area features a big-screen smart TV with cable and Wi-Fi. In the foyer sitting area, there is a couch queen hide-a-bed and an additional full bath in the Main Hale. The spacious lanai adds to the indoor/outdoor flow of the Main Hale with spectacular views, ample outdoor seating, and amazing outdoor grilling with the 'Green Egg' or gas Barbecue.

The Lower Garden Suite features a very private Bedroom with a full bath and king bed accommodations. It has a private entrance, a comfortable sitting area with a queen hide-a-bed-couch, TV, microwave, and a mini refrigerator.

The Ohana Suite also has king bed accommodations with a full bath, a private sitting area with 'two' twin couch Hide-a-beds, TV, kitchenette with a microwave and a mini refrigerator, and a private lanai.

This property is located on Ali'i Drive with access through our private gate. There is a large private parking area next to the home.

We're sure you, your family, and friends will create cherished Aloha memories at this beautiful oceanfront home.

Beautiful house and location! All the I structuins for check-in and check-out were very easy and accessible. The house is well maintained and there is tons is sleeping space! Amazing pool and spa. We saw dolphins swim right in front of the house almost every morning!

Hale Maluhia was the perfect vacation home for our family of 7. Our adult children had their own suites, which was ideal. The house was spacious and the lanai was perfect for enjoying meals and watching surfers, whales and dolphins. The kitchen was well stocked with spices and condiments. The pool was gorgeous and we used it every day. We especially appreciated all the beach gear (cooler, chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, etc.)! Mahalo!

This was such a nice house. My favorite part was sitting on the lanai looking for whales each morning. The house was very clean upon arrival and the instruction book was very helpful. The house offered lots of room for privacy with each sleeping area having their own bathroom/shower. The kitchen was very well stocked and the share pantry was nice too. We loved everything about this house (and the big island). *bonuses for our party were the cardinals that visited each day and the ukulele.

This is one of our favorite places to stay. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked, and we love sitting on the lanai overlooking the ocean. The location is great. We would definitely love to come back.

We loved our time at this gorgeous ocean front home. Everything from the time we arrived, to the day we checked out, was absolutely wonderful. The location was amazing, it is located between two fun beaches that are both within walking distance. One beach was fantastic for snorkeling and the other was a beautiful sandy swimming beach. The home comes equipped with water toys, beach chairs, noodles, beach towels and everything you need for a perfect day at the beach. During our time there we visited the volcano national park, Hilo, zip lined at Umauma falls and took an amazing whale watching tour on Body Glove…, not to mention all the whales, spinning dolphins and yellow fish we saw from their incredible lanai right at the house. We also bbq’d with their cool green egg and the food was so good. We HIGHLY recommend this vacation house. You will not be disappointed. We are already looking at dates so we can book it again next year!!!

Location was amazing, property was even bigger than pictures made it appear

The snorkeling and beach spots we read about in guidebooks were within blocks of this place. Decor was great for a vacation mood. We appreciated the MANY high-powered fans they had for every room. I doubt you can sleep closer to waves at any other property, so we slept great.

Perfect Location for a Kona Vacation

Three families shared this beautiful home on the ocean, which was perfectly located for spearfishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, boogie boarding, local dining experiences, amazing sunsets, tours of the island. When we return, we will definitely stay here again. The owners provided access to all of the beach essentials like chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards. They even had access to a minivan. We known we would’ve rented a car. all in all a perfect place for a kind of vacation

Honeymoon in Paradise!!

Such an amazing week!! After a full week of resort life in Maui, we chose to relax in Hawaii in this gorgeous fully stocked home. It was amazing to enjoy a full kitchen and multiple grills to cook our own food, private pool, and incredibly spacious separate living spaces. We met gracious locals and found our happy place. It was so hard to leave. Do not think twice about booking this house, it made our dream of living on the water a reality, even if just for a small amount of time!

Once in a Lifetime experience

Teri the host, was amazing - so helpful and responsive. The house was gorgeous, and their attention to detail was impressive. The location was amazing - every day was like a wildlife show a few hundred yards in the ocean bay. Pods of 30-40 Dolphins went by every day. We saw humpback whales almost every day breaching. The ocean waves coming in right to the shore of the house made it seem like you were in the ocean. We are coming back and going to stay at this house again for sure.

:Power of the Sea

This was an amazing place to witness a series of winter storms come through. From the waves crashing, thunder booming, raindrops pelting, and wind whistling, we felt snug and cozy in the house during the storms. Since the seas were rough, we were unable to do much swimming or snorkeling but enjoyed relaxing in the house. It's well-stocked and the three separate units are wonderful for larger mixed groups. Teri was a very communicative and knowledgeable host. We would recommend the house to friends and family.

Dream vacation house in Kona paradise

The accommodations met our expectations. My husband and friends were totally pleased with the house. It has everything you need and more. Games, books, rain ponchos, etc... The kitchen is fully equipped. We cooked our Thanksgiving dinner (beautiful dishes, glassware, a variety of pots/pans, Tupperware containers for leftovers...even the knives were sharp). Good quality furniture and furnishings. Decor tastefully done. The closeness to the ocean is such a plus - we loved falling asleep to the sound of the waves. During the stay we were treated to a dolphin show which we were able to watch from the lanai. The pool and jacuzzi were set for perfect temperatures. Highly highly recommend this house.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We came to celebrate our 30th anniversary with our adult kids. This house was perfect - everybody had their own separate space to stay. The house is very well appointed with everything you need. We started our day on the huge lanai watching the kayakers & waves. While we were there we saw dolphins, a manta ray family swimming down close to the shoreline & there are eels that live under the rocks that you are able to see when the tide is out! You can also see the colorful fish in the waves as they come crashing in. It was amazing. The stunning sunsets every night were incredible. I could go on and on.. thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home💗

Amazing Oceanfront Paradise

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Absolutely loved our stay on the Big Island, and this house had a lot to do with that! Perfect for our 3 generation family— everyone had their own private space with beautiful, comfortable accommodations. It was so relaxing falling asleep to the sound do the ocean out the window every night! We loved the huge lanai with ocean views,sunsets and rainbows, the pool and spa were perfect for afternoons after island excursions, and the location of the house was excellent for exploring Kona. We also made two trips to the other side of the island (Volcanoes Nat’l Park one day and a trip to Hilo another) and the drive east wasn’t so bad either! The property was exactly as described, very clean and well stocked with pantry supplies as well as beach and pool equipment! We were a 3 minute drive from the Magic Sands Beach (and beach bar!) which was amazing for swimming and spotting turtles and colorful reef fish! I would 100% stay here again, this little slice of paradise was the perfect stay for our Hawai’i vacation!

Wonderful vacation home!

We were very happy with our five night stay in this beautiful home! We stayed here with our friends which made a total of 8 people; 4 adults and 4 children. There was so much room for all of us to spread out! The kids loved staying in the downstairs bedroom! There was also everything we needed at the house; washer, dryer, coffepot, dishes, snorkel equipment and boogie boards, to name a few! The pool and deck area were absolutely amazing! We had a hard time getting the kids to leave the house everyday because they loved the pool so much!! The house was located close to beaches, restaurants and shopping. We found the house to be very clean and had plenty of bath and beach towels for all of us. The owner even had the local property manager meet us at the house to show us specifics of the house and pool! We only had one minor issue and that was the sliding screen doors. The doors were hard to open and close and would become stuck sometimes. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone of my friends or family! We would stay at this house if we're lucky enough to visit Hawaii again.

it feels like your home right on the ocean

This is a fantastic property for the right group. I will start with the negative. There is no AC. When we arrived the house had been closed up and it was very hot and stuffy. However, once we opened the doors and turned on the fans all the areas were comfortable a day later. Otherwise this was perfect for my husband and I, our grown son and grown daughter and her husband. There are 3 totally different living spaces. Due to the very distinct living spaces I would not great for a young family. For our crew we couldn't dream of a better property. It feels very old Hawaii in decor. The furniture is all very comfortable and not typical of rentals. The pool and Jacuzzi are gorgeous. for those with kids there is a gate around the pool if needed. There is a small yard in front of the breakwater that can be used for little games. There is a path from the yard to the rocks and ocean. The house if a home. It literally has everything. Guests leave there extra food and items so when we came the pantry was full of many great spices, condiments, rice and there were plenty of pool toys. There is a green egg and gas grill that we used nightly. But most importantly is the view and sound of the waves. We spent countless hours sitting on the expansive lanai relaxing, reading and listening to those waves. We will return.
