An Oasis on the Lake

Enjoy our Lake Home on 8 acres with access to a private lake, perfect for paddling, canoeing, or swimming. Watch stunning sunsets from the patio while enjoying dinner and roasting marshmallows over a fire. On rainy days, we offer plenty of indoor activities for the family, including a billiards table, darts, a variety of games, or a cozy movie night.
If you have a boat or are interested in renting one, we can coordinate dock access and rentals through Hide-Away Campground on Long Lake. We are conveniently located approximately 8 miles from Green Lake in Spicer, just outside of New London.
Base Nightly Occupancy rate based on Winter base nightly rates are based on 8. There is an additional per-night fee per guest above the base rate to cover expenses and consumables. Dinner events are permitted, but groups >20 require the purchase of event insurance. Per night per pet fee subj. to min. Excellent stay!

This was perfect for our vacation with our children and grandchildren! The kids loved the jon boats and paddleboarding on Shoemaker lake. The house was large enough for our group of 9 adults and 8 children.

Wonderful Stay

Absolutely wonderful place to stay! It was so accommodating: plenty of places to sleep, rooms to spread out in, and activities to enjoy (billiards and darts)! Great location for privacy and amazing for star gazing. Wonderful hosts. Loved it and would recommend.

Family gathering

We had a wonderful stay here. Nick was extremely accommodating, and the house was wonderful. We were in the area for a funeral, so unfortunately didn't have much time to enjoy recreation at the house, but there were plenty of options available. Thanks so much for making a difficult time much easier for our family!

Amazing Host and House

A delightful place to stay. Beautiful setting and many options on the property for fun and enjoyment. Loved it! From the communication, cleanliness, activities and amazing location, we were all incredibly pleased! We will be booking another trip out again next year! Amazing!

This property is nothing short of amazing! I hosted my sister’s bachelorette party here and it was such a huge hit- everyone loved it! Nick and Jena were also such amazing hosts. They were extremely accommodating, quick to respond, and truly went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our weekend and celebration! I would highly recommend this property to anyone and we will definitely be back!!

Dog Friendly, Secluded Retreat

We stayed here for my husbands birthday with our dogs and had a great time. The location is beautifully secluded and private. They have incredibly fast internet for work, streaming, etc. It's very close to Sibley State Park which is gorgeous. The house is spacious with a ton of beds and space for a lot of people. The pool table was lots of fun too. There are so many lakes nearby for fishing. We would definitely come back!

Absolutely fabulous property

This property is truly magical for all ages! The town of New London had an impact for all of us, even my teenage daughters as they shopped the boutiques, flower picking, the co-op & the tea shop which is fabulous! Nick is fabulous to work with & responds immediately. They have the property stocked & ready for you to unplug & relax! Definitely a destination to check out!

Beautiful home and great location

We couldn’t have picked a better place to stay. Beautiful home that was very spacious. The lake at this time is gorgeous. We did some family photos with it in the background. I can’t thank you enough for allowing our fur babies to come as well. It was a perfect stay. (Minus the ladybugs- we couldn’t have a bonfire, but that was out of the host’s control)

Girls weekend

We had a fantastic time at this cabin and couldn't have asked for anything better! It's in a beautiful, quiet, and very private location with a cute town just minutes away. The space is very clean and comfortable with everything you need. Even has its own KitchenAid mixer cabinet! The communication was excellent, the hosts check in at every point to make sure you're doing well and offer to help with anything you need. We had a perfect 3 night stay! Thank you, Nick and Jena!

Relaxing getaway

My partner and I got away for a week with our dogs - I crocheted, binged movies, and played with the dogs while my partner worked on his war hammer miniatures and listened to his audiobooks. We got in the water and learned how to do the stand up paddle boarding, and made it out into town too. The owners of the property have the place fully stocked for virtually anything you need, and have lots of games to keep you busy! All the beds made it really nice for us have a couple friends come up and stay for a few nights too. Can’t wait to do it again next year!

Lake home retreat

The setting and home are beautiful, peaceful and relaxing. The spaciousness allowed for privacy for us and our family. The beds were very comfortable and everything was clean. The kitchen is very well equipped. We rented a pontoon from the nearby campground and the fishing was great. All of our 4 grandchildren caught a fish! We visited the town nearby and they had a few fun shops and we enjoyed Zorbas for lunch. The kids played games and we enjoyed sleeping in the large bunk room. Nick was very easy to work with and quick to respond to any questions. A big thank you to the homeowners!

A Peaceful Hideaway

The first impression is of a beautiful and large home, in the country on a secluded driveway with zero road noise. Inside was equally as beautiful. The sleeping spaces were very nice and we heard no complaints about mattresses or pillows. Plenty of towels and supplies. I have never seen a better appointed kitchen. All the tools of home plus! It was spacious and comfortable with a well cared for feeling. We did not use the lake, but heard lions (my favorite) and we were visited everyday by several deer. I highly recommend this owner and this property.

Wow--this is a great place to spend time with family, especially if you have young kids! All of the outlets are child-proofed, and there are a ton of toys and games for kids of all ages. They even have toys and treats for dogs. For adults they have board games, a pool table that converts to ping pong, a floating deck and paddle boards. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could think of including plenty of plates, glasses, silverware, pots, pans, etc. The house is huge, and the lot is large as well, and very private. There is a beautiful fire pit with firewood in the back and a front patio with adirondack chairs and a great view. Although it's weedy around the dock, that was great for fishing--we caught some enormous bass off the dock.The hosts were awesome--very quick to get back to us when we had questions and proactive about communicating with us. They even contacted us when a thunderstorm warning was issued to let us know about the warning and tell us where the safest place in the house to go would be. Checking in was simple, as was checking out. I can't imagine having a better experience. This is a great house, great hosts, fully furnished, very clean with lots of toys and things to do inside and out. We'd love to come back each year!

Beautiful Lake Home

The property is beautiful and quiet. We were there with our adult children and our dog. The layout of the bunk room worked especially well for us as did the abundance of bathrooms! We really enjoyed the pool table and dart board. The outside patio space is lovely. We also loved the fire ring and star gazing. The kitchen is really well stocked for cooking for and serving large groups. Also super convenient to have laundry. The area is really sweet. We enjoyed the Big Kahuna Fun Park and the area around Green Lake. Also enjoyed Disc Golfing at Robbin’s Island in Willmar. New London is adorable and Goat Ridge Brewery is not to be missed! The hosts are attentive and responsive.

Great place that is away from people and very quiet.

This was our first experience renting a house and it was great! Nicholas communicated very well and made it very simple for us. The house was very clean and well taken care of. My family really enjoyed the paddle boards and fishing from the boats/dock. The town of Spicer has a nice grocery store (Teal’s Market) that we were able to buy all of our groceries from. We also spent a day at the Little Crow golf course that is only 5-10 min away and had a great time…..very nice place that is pretty laid back. If I was forced to pick something that I would change it would be to add some darker window coverings in the bedrooms, we like it darker in the mornings but that is very minor and only our preference. We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

Review of wedding stay

This property was perfect for our family. We stayed for 5 nights for a wedding. Had a chef cook the grooms dinner for us. They provided us extra tables and chairs for our event. Yes! They allow events!! We were so pleased with everything. Lots of toys for little ones. Very dog friendly also. kitchen is very modern and up to date. It really couldnt have been more perfect for our family and this wedding week-end. We rented pontoon twice from campground about 1 mile away. Nick was very communicative. Answering questions before our stay. And checked in during our stay. And called afterwards to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. I was so pleased with everything. It was perfect. I cannot say it enough. Highly recommend these accomodations.

Big, clean place at an affordable price and awesome hosts

We stayed here during the offseason....in early November, so we didn't get to take advantage of the lake amenities. However, the house was very clean, fairly new, and I honestly thought it looked much nicer in person than the pictures in the listing indicated. I would definitely stay here again. There were only 4 of us (no couples) staying for 3 nights, but it ended up being much more affordable than staying at a hotel, and we had much more room with 3.5 bathrooms and 4 separate bedrooms, so each of us got our own bedroom and only 2 of us had to share a bathroom. Since it's more or less in the country, there's no worry about noise or disrupting neighbors, and with the huge TV, great room, and game room with a pool table and dart board, as well as plenty of other games, it is a great place for groups! During the offseason, it's perfect for a group of friends, hunters or family reunions. The owners checked in with us while we were there to make sure everything was ok as well, and were always quick to answer any questions.
