Erin's property had pretty much everything we may have needed, and then some... pots, pans, dishes & flatware both paper and ceramic. Even had spices and condiments for cooking. The location, quietness, and comfort was especially relaxing visiting friends asked me to share my booking experience and other information so they can recommend Erin's place to some friends coming to visit in the future. Needless to say, I was happy to do that! I would be more than happy to stay there again during another trip to the area.Five stars for the accommodations, and five stars for Erin too!! Oh yeah... BTW, there is a ramp access to a covered porch that provides handicap access through the sliding glass door into the master bedroom. Honestly, I think Erin has all the bases covered...

It's very nice clean place, would stay again. There is a TV in every bedroom. Had no problem operating tvs and connecting to wifi. Has 2 kayaks which we used and enjoyed. Fully stocked kitchen made it easy to make meals. Only issue was some complained bedrooms were hot, even though it has cental air, we had brought a couple fans, so for us that helped, but a couple of ceiling fans in those rooms would be nice. Sliding glass door in master bedroom doesn't seem to lock.

The place was clean and comfortable. The televisions all seemed to have different operating options with no info from the owners. We couldn’t find local tv on any tvs.

Country side view

We had a wonderful time. Got to see deer, squirrels, birds ,and visit the beach. Loved the place. Not to far for grocery store. Peaceful and quiet. Most of all I got to spend time with my son and grandson. Just relax and talked and ate. That’s what family time is.

Quiet hillside house with access to nature

We enjoyed staying here with young kids and taking trip to the near by lake (where you can rent a pontoon boat or other craft). Also an easy drive to Huntington and nearby sights like Holy Cross Hermitage. It’s in a very hilly area with a sloping yard and drive way. It was no problem in a minivan in the summer but you’ll want to be comfortable with windy roads and likely want 4x4 in winter. House itself has everything you need on one floor. Linens and beds were excellent with a cozy eating area and living room. Saw deer every night and really enjoyed the Beech Fork lake!

Just okay

The stay was exactly as stated in the title. Just okay. This was my first time using VRBO & I reached out to the host & never heard back from her. We ended up being able to.get in but I would've like to have communicated with the host a few times during my stay. There were 3 remotes and we could only get 1 TV to work. That was in the bedroom with the bunk beds which we weren't even using. The driveway was very intimidating, this should have been stated in the description.

Overall it’s a nice enough place. We won’t stay here again but it’s certainly not bad.

Positives: - Outdoor fireplace - Location is close to beach - There is enough room to put a pac n’ play in the queen bedroom. A plus for us but not everyone. - Communication with the owner was fantastic. She even helped us coordinate an extra day in advance. - The interior is in decent shape. Clearly an older home. I do wish there was a little more cleaning of the cob webs in corners and the bugs out of light fixtures. Negatives: - The master bedroom window blinds leave a lot to be desired. Several slats are missing leaving you able to see in/out all the time. - The cold water doesn’t work right in the sink in the main bathroom. It only works when on maybe an 1/8 of a turn. Otherwise it cuts off. - There is a water hammer issue in the house. When toilets flush, washing machine is filling, etc it is very loud in the house. - Sound travels very well in the house. Don’t expect anyone to sleep while others are awake. - There is a bug problem in the home. Gnats everywhere no matter what I did. They were here when we walked in so it wasn’t our food. Some kind of beetle or something living in the oven button area (seen through the clock part). - The exterior is poorly maintained. The back patio retaining wall has fallen apart and is just laying there in pieces. Leaves and trash all around the patio edges. The grill was absolutely disgusting, tried to clean what we could but it was rough. The grill also was left with no propane. We filled it and left it for the next ppl.
Wall failing apart in back
Trailer on the property not losted
Not enough space to use stove
Bug in oven
