Awesome stay at the Mangolani in late April. This was our first trip to Maui and Paia was by far our favorite spot, don't think we would stay anywhere else on the island (though to be fair, we did a lot of exploring but didn't get a chance to venture to the westside), we felt it was a perfect central location especially if you want to drive around looking for surf (or whatever!). If you are looking for a relaxed, non-touristy vacay, this is the way to go. Dave and Nyla are both super chill and always willing to answer questions or dish out suggestions for places to go, eat, etc. Their property feels really private despite being right on Baldwin Ave. and has everything you could possibly need for your stay, plus its beautiful and meticulously well kept. Restaurants and shopping are definitely walkable, which is crucial since parking in town can be little rough. Hana Foods is dope, as is the little market a few blocks towards town on Baldwin (for beers and other bevies) and the yoga shala up the street has a great little organic cafe, Island Fresh, that serves breakfast and lunch. I could go on and on, bottom line- this is a perfect place to stay if you want to be in Paia surrounded by natural beauty and positive vibes! Animal lovers: be forewarned, it may be difficult to leave the Mangolani, as the three resident dogs and cat are super cute! Mahalo to Dave, Nyla, and Max for sharing your beautiful property and making our first trip to Maui a memorable one!!!
