Place was amazing and will definitely stay again. Very end condo so very private with huge deck. Dale is a great host, communicated well, and made sure we had everything we needed and/or wanted. Thank you for a great family vacation!

I cannot say enough good things about this property and host. We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend. It was perfect! Halfway home I realized i forgot something and Dale was willing to take the time to mail it back to me! We will definitely consider staying here again if ever the opportunity arises !

Set up was great. Very private. Bathrooms clean. TV was a bit difficult work. Bedrooms were very comfortable. Guest room with two beds was a bit warm because no air flow. The sliding glass door doesn’t open. The deck is so private and the scenery is awesome. Chairs and tables could’ve been cleaner, webs and bugs. Overall though we love this place and would come back again and again.

It is a very comfortable property in a great location. The only drawback is a programmable thermostat that can only be accessed with the owner’s phone. He responded quickly to our one request for a temperature change, but it is a very odd situation. I hope it is temporary.

Check-in was very easy! Kitchen had everything you need and more! The condo was very clean and comfortable! The view from the deck was awesome! This was a very nice condo! I would highly recommend it! We enjoyed our stay immensely! Thank you!

The condo was very clean. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. You can access pool and restaurants/bar by foot. The ice maker did not work and that was a bit disappointing but the owner immediately brought a large bag of ice and ice cube trays and that worked for us. My only complaint would be the parking lot for this unit is horrible and you will more often than not have a long walk to your room, not to mention the walk has several flights of steps so important to know if you have health issues. Finally, you do not have access to the thermostat so if you are cold or hot you have to text the owner. This is fine until it’s midnight and you wake up freezing or sweating and (1) who wants to bother the owner with a text in the middle of the night and (2) most people wouldn’t respond until morning any way. Overall, a very nice space and we would go back.

Best unit at Trappers Lodge

We loved our stay at this condo. The porch is just wonderful, and the condo has a peaceful view out of the back. The decorating was peaceful and pretty, without being fussy. We loved being walking distance to the indoor and outdoor pools, as well as the playground and 4th of July fireworks. We also loved having access to the Summit Village association beach club.

Excellent spot for golf

Great accomodations. Rented 2 condos for 8 of us and everything was great and clean. Communication was outstanding. Great location for 3 days of golf at Shanty Creek courses.

Lovely Spot and View

It was a great spot to stay and a gorgeous view of the Fall colors. The outdoor fireplace was nice too. The condo was lovely for our small group of four with plenty of room. Definitely a great place to stay.

Wonderful week!

We had such a wonderful stay at this property. I didn’t know too much about Michigan and where things were so I was a bit hesitant booking anything. This was the perfect spot!! We went to mackinaw island for two days and then drove the two hrs south to stay here for the week and we were able to visit bear sand dunes, torch lake, all the wineries within the week. I also thought being in a golf/ski area we would be further from town but there’s a grocery store right by less than 5 minutes and a cute little town! Walking the grounds was great with all the beautiful trees. The fire pit was the best part and we hung in the backyard and watched the sunset most nights. The walk from parking lot to door isn’t bad at all, it’s worth it to be at the end in a secluded area with a beautiful hang out spot outside, I definitely recommend this place! Comfy bed, kitchen had everything we needed to cook, very clean!

Awesome condo in beautiful Shanty Creek

We had a wonderful stay here in August 2024! The condo was modern, spacious and clean with several amenities within walking distance at the Shanty Creek hotel. The views were beautiful and the beds were comfy. We really enjoyed our stay!

Nice but, not exactly private.

We booked this location to stay near Torch Lake for our 25th wedding anniversary. Our communication with the property owner was great. He was quick to reply. We had no control over the thermostat and had to contact Dale to make adjustments remotely. The place was clean and we appreciated having cleaning supplies and plenty of dishes. As for the privacy, we did have a few porches to sit on. One was small off of the double bed bedroom. It had a lot of leaves and spiders so we didn't really use it. The big porch with the grill, fire feature and tables and chairs was really nice. The only issue there was the balcony right above it. There were several people staying above us and they used that balcony a lot. So, when we were on that back porch, they were constantly sitting right above us watching and listening. No fault of theirs, of course. It just didn't really offer the privacy we had hoped for. The third porch area had a balcony above it and a very short walk to the porch directly next to us. We just sorta felt surrounded by people. The bed was comfortable and clean. The bathrooms were also nice and clean. I also enjoyed the views from our room that overlooked an old ski lift valley as well as the rolling hills. .

Forever Chasing Michigan Sunsets

We have stayed at Shanty Creek before & knew we loved the area. The patio space is what drew me to this beautiful condo! It's AMAZING!! We spent a lot of time in the evening enjoying the beautiful night sky and cool breeze, making s'mores, & playing games with our kids. You will read in previous reviews that it is an end unit & a bit of a walk. It's doable for an active adult & better than I was anticipating. We did have a wagon to help bring items in, but there are a few sets of steps. The controlled temperature setting did not affect us & the condo was comfortable. I'm sure if it was an issue, it would easily be addressed with the manager. When we arrived, our code did not work to get in; however, the backup code worked, and we had no issues getting in. We easily could have continued with backup code, but I sent a message & it was fixed by next morning. We also could not find the iron & there was a knock on our door in less than 10 minutes with a new iron after notifying property manager. Loved that this unit had a washer & dryer. Future recommendations (not deal breakers): more towels for shower & kitchen (we washed ours every other day & I'm sure we could have received more if we asked), added curtain panels to the 2-bed room to fully cover the doors at night, curtain panel added to big window in other bedroom to block out light if desired. Loved this beautiful condo and would stay again!

Great Stay

We had a great stay! Enjoyed grilling in the outdoor space after eating out most other nights. My mother was vacationing with us and we couldn't adjust the temperature due to it being locked out. We arrived on a Saturday evening to zero parking availability. Multiple people trying to find parking. We ended up semi parking into loading/unloading zone. When we went out Sunday morning, parking lot had emptied out. We use vrbo often and other condo rentals have designated parking for each unit. There was not enough linen for our party of six but made do. All of these are minor and overall we enjoyed our stay.
