Firefly Hill - Renovated farmhouse with large backyard - sleeps 8

This property is centrally located but in a rural small town area in the foothills of central Maryland. It has great views of the mountains and the valley to the north and the pastures of our farm to the south and west. There are four bedrooms and three full bathrooms, as well as a large fenced yard with a grill, hammock and fire ring. The main bedroom has a queen bed and an ensuite bathroom with clawfoot cast iron bathtub/shower. The second bedroom hosts a full bed and shares a full bathroom with the third bedroom, which has two twin beds and a walk in closet. The fourth bedroom is located on the ground floor and doubles as an office and library. Prepare for relaxation and calm atmosphere!
Nearby attractions are numerous, but some highlights include Frederick, MD with tons of great restaurants, shopping, art and city parks; Harpers Ferry at the confluence of the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers, a national historic site and great outdoor adventures; the battlefields of Antietam, South Mountain, Monocacy and Gettysburg are nearby; and many great places in FREDERICK COUNTY to visit.
There is an office with a large desk for a workspace, and a library stocked with books. The front porch has a great view of the valley and mountains- it's the perfect spot to watch the fireflies or a passing thunderstorm. We hope you enjoy this house as much as we do.

Firefly hill is as advertised

Lovely property and a great stay except for the weather. Called the owner about getting some firewood for the pit in the yard and he got it to us the next am. Definitely well worth the price paid

Cozy home in a very cute town!

We were very pleased with the stay. The owners were very caring and attentive to our needs! The home was ready for a last minute booking! We were very appreciative! Highly recommended! Charming House!!

Had a great girls weekend! Everything was very clean and updated. Lots of space and beds! Was overall very nice property and although it rained most of our stay the backyard was lovely and very well kept! Would definitely recommend and would stay again!

Sit a spell on Firefly Hill

We enjoyed the cozy farm house and amenities. This home offered us close proximity for an event in Frederick. There was ample space to spread out and the games and swing was a bonus for children. We love the front porch and kitchen. We recommend a stay at this farm house.

Ladies Weekend

Perfect setting for a ladies weekend. We all absolutely loved this comfortable, spacious and charming farmhouse! The property is Very well maintained with thoughtful details. We spent our evenings outside sitting around our small fire and enjoying the private, fenced yard. Beautiful place-would definitely recommend!

Wonderful home away from home for Christmas!

I rented this wonderful place for my extended family so that we could all stay in the same place for Christmas. We had 8 adults and a couple big dogs, and it could not have been better!! Not only is the place beautiful, comfortable, clean, and cozy, but it also had everything we needed to make a big Christmas meal (and many in between!). The dogs LOVED the huge, fenced-in yards, and my family had plenty of room to spread out. Its location is ideal: It’s only an hour from my home in Northern Virginia, and we enjoyed a day trip to Harper’s Ferry, which is only 15 minutes away. Dianisha was a helpful and responsive host! Instructions were very clear, simple, and easy to follow. We loved our stay, and we hope we can come back one day!

Awesome house!

Vintage with a touch of modern. We had such a great stay at Firefly hill. My granddaughter was so enamored that she didn’t want to leave. Everything is close by only a short ride. Great communication with Dianisha and Dave. Hope to return in the future.

Farmhouse Oasis

We chose to stay at Firefly Hill farmhouse so we could attend a relatives wedding nearby. This newly renovated farmhouse was absolutely beautiful and the views from the front porch overlooking the mountains was breathtaking. Jefferson is a quaint little town with a cute downtown area and relaxing environment. The owners of the house were so nice and very responsive. The house was clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Would highly recommend!

Exceptional Stay

Exceptional!!!!! Our stay was exceptional. The house is absolutely beautiful. It is recently remodeled with good planning and outcome. This is a beautiful 1874 farmhouse, full of history and well located. The furnishing are beautiful antiques. The kitchen is modern and excellent. The hosts are amazing.If there was an issue or questions, they replied immediately. I absolutely recommend this as a wonderful place to spend time in historic northwest Maryland. We will return again and again.

Like coming back home again

We had a family wedding near Lucketts and discovered this gem in the town of Jefferson. Not really discovered as we had lived there for 35 years and the kids went to the nearby school. We also lucked out on being there for the town's 250th anniversary that including a parade. Firefly Hill was perfect for the family as we had 4 adults, 2 children ages 2 and 5, and the dog. The old folks used bedroom 1, the family used bedrooms 2 and 3, and the other son used bedroom 4. The boys loved taking baths in the master bathroom tub and the dog enjoyed running at full speed in the fully fenced backyard! The house is nicely located between Frederick and Harpers Ferry with excellent dining, shops, museums and hiking. There is a wonderful Nature Center (Catoctin Creek) with playgrounds and pavilions for your family gathering and if the weather is warm, some splashing in the creek. Would we stay there again. Yes, very much so. I hope you get the chance to stay a few nights as we did.
