On the main drag of Hazelwood Village, you can walk to breakfast at Beach Mountain Diner, Smokey Mountain Coffee Roasters, or Farm to Cake Bakery. Shop 'til you drop at cute, locally-owned stores including Blue Ridge Books and Hazelwood Soap Company. For more nearby adventures, walk or drive the mile to downtown Waynesville! If relaxing is your game, stay home and enjoy the stylish, comfortable house and fully fenced yard with your pups ( pet fee of $40 per stay, up to two dogs).

Really cute and cozy home. Very thoughtful touches by the host, including suggested eateries. The location was fantastic. We could visit downtown shopping and eateries within 5 minutes. Loved the place!

We loved our stay in Waynesville! The house was so cute, the rooms were all a nice size and it had everything we needed! The backyard was a nice bonus for our dog and everything went so smoothly! We would definitely stay here again!

The cottage was clean and well equipped. My favorite part was the location. This charming cottage is right in the heart of Hazelwood, a small community with restaurants and little shops. Very walkable!

The house is wonderful and looks exactly like the posted pictures. It sits on a quiet street on a corner lot. We walked three blocks to Beach Mountain Diner, where we had the best homemade country breakfast at a reasonable price. The cottage is minutes away from downtown Waynesville and close to the hiking trails in the National Park. The host was extremely responsive before and after checking in. The kitchen is more than adequate and the off street parking is a plus.I would definitely stay here again.

House smelled like dogs when first got there, had to let house air out several hours and use air fresheners. Otherwise, enjoyed our stay.

Everything was terrific. We had a couple of questions that were promptly answered. The home was super clean. The beds were comfortable-nice linens.

The good: The house itself was perfect for our visit to the area with my wife and I, and two dogs. The fenced in yard was great to have. The house itself was clean, comfortable, relaxing, and pretty well appointed. The bad: The kitchen pots/pans could use some updating (the Teflon was pretty scratched up & we didn't want to use them). Luckily, I found a nice Smoky the Bear cast iron pan at the Mast Store in Waynesville that sufficed for the meals we ate in (took home with me). Know that there was no grill outside. I also travel with my own as these are usually sketchy at most VRBOs as most guests aren't good at cleaning them (No complaint-this house didn't advertise having one & I came prepared). Otherwise, the house was very enjoyable & worth staying at. This was our first visit to this area. I was impressed with the number of good restaurants to choose from nearby. We also enjoyed a daily morning walk around Lake Junaluska. We especially enjoyed driving the Blue Ridge Parkway from Cherokee back to Waynesville. Great views from the overlooks. The only other thing that I think would be helpful for others to know is that the house is walking distance to downtown Hazelwood, but I don't think anyone's ever walked to eat or drink to downtown Waynesville from this house. It's a very quick, short drive, but not something I think anyone would walk to go eat. I wouldn't let that deter me from coming back, as the house is so well situated for all other things.
