Family reunion in the mountains

Can’t say enough great things about Buttercup Haven. Every detail has been considered for what you would need. Beautiful views. Beautiful home. Sunset on one side of the house annd sunrise on the other. The views were part of the entertainment ! Our host was amazing at communication. We will be back!

Sons Wedding

I booked this property for my family several months ago so we could attend my son's wedding in Franklin. It is not an exaggeration to say that it's probably the nicest property that we have ever rented. We have traveled extensively over the years, but this property checked all of the boxes. Incredible views, extremely comfortable, well stocked, and decorated beautifully. Although the wedding was perfect, we really had a hard time leaving the house. We are already making plans to visit the area again at some point and hope to stay at the same place if it's available.

Old friends

Two old friends were coming to the States from England for work and pleasure. They flew into Atlanta and we hosted them at Buttercup Haven from Tuesday to Friday. The drive up from Atlanta is easy, Franklin NC has plenty to do and Buttercup Haven lived up to expectations. The house is well situated to take in the wonderful views. The house was immaculate, well furnished, and had everything needed for cooking and enjoying the meals al fresco. There is lovely dining table as well but the weather was perfect for being out of doors and Buttercup Haven has beautiful and comfortable outdoor spaces. We could not have been happier with Buttercup Haven. Great fun, good times, we look forward to returning.

Wow. Just wow!

When I booked the cabin for an extended family Christmas, I figured we would have to do without a tree. I was wrong. Not only did the owner have a magnificent decorated tree in the living room, but almost every room of the house had little moments of Christmas on display. Then time and effort spent on decorating, made it feel like Christmas and made our family get together special. Not only did the owner decorate, she went out of her way to ensure that we could get packages delivered and was very responsive to questions we had to prepare for an extended family Christmas. As beautiful as it was with the decorations, I think the cabin will be equally as lovely once the holidays are over. The decor is so well done and the design is perfect for small or large gatherings. We had 4 couples and each had a room with their own en suite. There was also a half bath. The hot tub had a great view and the decks wrapped around the house so you could watch the sunrise and/or sunset. Since it was cold, we opted to watch the beautiful sis sets from the living room which offered fantastic views. We have stayed at many vrbos over the years and this cabin had the best kitchen we have ever seen. The. Best. We made large meals for the extended family and the kitchen had every appliance and utensil we needed, along with serving platters etc. There was a game area upstairs, but also a space downstairs to play. The cabin is close to Highlands, Cashiers and less than an hour from Asheville. Regardless of the season or your reason for going, is a well designed cabin with a thoughtful and responsive owner. We can’t say enough good things and will definitely be back.

Great upscale mountain getaway

Outstanding! Great space inside and amazing views! Appliances and furnishings are excellent. 7 adults and two toddlers… plenty of space. We were there for Thanksgiving, so did a good bit of cooking. Best equipped kitchen I have seen in a rental. Great appliances and pots/pans/tools.

A Beautiful home in the clouds!

Buttercup Haven is a beautifully appointed home. Decor is high end and comfortable. Sparkling clean and attention to detail really made our family getaway special!! Best one yet!

We take trips to the mountains as a group every year (3 couples / 6 adults). We have stayed at various properties across western NC, eastern TN, and north GA. This one was far the best yet! Proximity to various towns, hikes, etc and the amenities were amazing. We actually cut our day out on Saturday a bit short because everyone wanted to return to the house and enjoy the views. We will definitely return and recommend Buttercup Haven in the future!

20th Annual Girls Getaway

Absolutely breathtaking property! Beautiful views of the mountains. Clean and tastefully decorated home. Margaret, the home owner, was easy to communicate with and was readily available if we needed anything. We all had a great time in the area, plenty to do. We chased waterfalls, went rafting, visited Biltmore and dined at some fantastic restaurants. We will be back! Buttercup Haven was the perfect home to stay in for our Girls Getaway!

Beautiful Getaway

The scenery is fantastic with wonderful views all around the property. This home is decorated with much thought and great taste. The kitchen is stocked with everything you can imagine for cooking better than any home I’ve vacationed in before. All the light switches are labeled which was very helpful. Beautiful vacation home.

37th annual girls’ trip!

There are 5 of us between the ages of 63 and 85, (this year) who have traveled annually for many years. Buttercup Haven was our best house yet. We had fantastic beds and bathrooms, great kitchen with everything one needs, outdoor seating for the full experience of the porches. And on and on…Franklin was close for groceries, the trash dump or gas. Margaret communicated well and even had a booklet with all information needed. Thanks so much for your lovely house!

Beautiful Luxury Home

Buttercup Haven is one of the most beautiful homes we’ve ever rented. The location is convenient to everything but also very private. Once entering the Featherstone development we didn’t encounter another person or vehicle the entire week. The views are spectacular in all directions. The home is excellently constructed, spacious and comfortable. It is also very tastefully decorated and the furniture and appliances are of high quality. The property and grounds are well maintained. Margaret, the property owner, was easy to communicate with and very attentive. We will definitely stay here again.

Great mountain getaway

Stayed here with our family over spring break and had a great time. The property is immaculate, has great views, is perfect for families, and has very nice amenities including the hot tub and fire place, which we used every day. This side of the mountains is slower paced but that was perfect for us as there is still plenty to do and the area isn't overdeveloped with cheesy tourist stuff. We had a very minor issue with the door code at check in and the host was super responsive and very nice. 10/10 would recommend this place.

Girl's Get Away - Perfect in Every way!

Our women's hiking group found this house to be perfect in every way. Besides all the special touches throughout this beautiful house, we loved the mountain views in 3 directions, especially enjoyed the views from the hot tub including the lights of Franklin down below. The large dinning room table was great for shared meals and game nights and as an added bonus we enjoyed a beautiful sunset during dinner. The sleeping arrangements were perfect and the house is so open and roomy, each room offered privacy and enough separation everyone had plenty of space. We truly hope to be back soon!

Spectacular House

This is one of the most beautiful houses we have ever stayed in with VRBO! Nothing was spared in this house. The kitchen is fully stocked, the linens on the beds, the decor is A+. The views are breath taking. Relaxing in the hot tub after a day of hiking is amazing. The host called to make sure we had gotten in and that everything was in order. We cannot wait to go back. We hiked in the Highlands and saw so many amazing waterfalls.

I fell in love with NC when my husband to be first brought me to Franklin in 1982 to meet his mother and extended family. Since then, I have learned much about my mother-in-law's connection to the area, including the fact that her father's family were among the first white settlers to Franklin. Our family has strong ties to the area, even though we are not permanent residents. I always look forward to my stays at Buttercup Haven and especially enjoy sharing my home with family, friends, and guests.

I fell in love with this property because of its unique location, its beauty, the tranquility of the outdoors, and the magnificent views from every room. The post and beam home has been built with amazing care and attention to detail. Since I purchased Buttercup Haven in late 2012, new furnishings have been added throughout the home.

In recent years, the exterior has been updated with a new color palette, the addition of entry gates, and annual updates to the landscaping, making the yard today a haven for butterflies as well as humans! Additional seating has been added to the outdoor areas.

Buttercup Haven is a home that I personally enjoy with family and friends, as well as a growing number of returning guests.
