Try your rig out on the local JEEP trails or rent a JEEP in town and create your own adventure! Ski Breckenridge or Monarch Mountain, fish the local rivers, or take a spa day and soak in the Mount Princeton hot springs. Whatever adventure is calling you the Wanderlust Chalet provides the perfect home base for all of your wanderings. Nestled near the Rocky Mountain Collegiate Peaks, enjoy convenient shopping in the nearby mountain town of Buena Vista or daytrip to upscale Breckenridge.

Absolutely beautiful cabin. I love the rustic log home look and the log furniture. The cabin was extremely clean and plenty of kitchen items to make cooking a breeze. Nice big bath towels. Super comfy beds. Beautiful wrap around deck too. Was happy to see the little chipmunks running around as well as the black squirrels. We don’t have black squirrels in Missouri. Oh and the beautiful bouquet of flowers sitting on the table was such a nice touch. Thank you for letting myself and our family enjoy your beautiful home.

Beautiful cabin

The cabin was perfect,such a beautiful place. Not hard to get to and an easy drive home each night after adventuring all day. The sunsets were very pretty right off the deck and deer every morning. The host Terry was great to work with and if we come this way again we will definitely stay here. Thanks again for a great stay.

Wanderlust Cabin

Peaceful cabin in the woods. Enjoyed spending time in the cabin after riding trails all day. Close to Buena Vista, Salida, and Leadville to dining, shopping, and attractions.

The property was beautiful and a great fit for our family! The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked for all of our cooking needs. We loved sitting on the deck in the cool mornings with a cup of coffee and listening to the birds. Such a relaxing spot!

Peaceful Mountain Escape – A Perfect Getaway

We just returned from a wonderful vacation at this beautiful log cabin tucked back in the Colorado woods. The setting was incredibly peaceful and quiet—just what we needed to relax and recharge. The cabin was clean, well-kept, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed.One of the special touches we appreciated was the fresh flowers in the front room when we arrived—my wife absolutely loved that. Even better, they allowed us to bring our dogs, which made the trip even more enjoyable. It’s not always easy to find pet-friendly places like this, and we’re so grateful for it.Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a calm, scenic, and pet-friendly getaway in the mountains.

Beautiful and Comfortable!

The cabin was absolutely beautiful. All 6 of us (and our dog) was very comfortable. The hosts communicated with us whenever we had questions. We would love to go back again sometime!

Terry and Ronnie have the perfect cabin! It is stocked with everything you need in an absolutely perfect location. Close to Buena Vista and hiking trails! And the cabin is so cozy you don’t even need to leave. Would love to come back!

Love the Wanderlust Chalet!!

Amazing father son trip! Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. The Wanderlust Chalet is in a fantastic, remote location, has every amenity you could ask for, is super clean. This place truly gives that cabin/chalet feel inside and out. The owners take amazing care of this place and we appreciated their communication and hospitality. Can’t wait to come back!

Great place in the woods!

We loved your family trip to Buena Vista and this house was great! Nice that it was remote but also easy to get into BV or drive to Salida. Would definitely recommend this house to others! We appreciated the toiletries and basic pantry items provided too! Our kids loved the old school video game and playing outside.

Perfect stay!!

Great cabin/chalet. Stocked with everything we needed! The notebook with instructions was much appreciated. Loved the decor, the beds were comfortable, enjoyed the Bluetooth stereo and the pac man video game. Loved the remoteness. Everything was perfect!

Early Spring Getaway

My friends and I had a wonderful time in the cabin, we stayed for two nights and the place was amazing with the location, the views, and the privacy. The cabin was very neat and everything worked just fine, the instructions were very accurate and helpful. The communication with the hosts was very prompt and welcoming. The fresh flowers on the dining table was very much appreciated. Thank you.

2025 Spring Break

Being from Texas, we always wanted to experience, a cozy cabin in the woods and we got it with this Cabin. The scenery and drive just to get there were amazing.The Star gazing at night was breathtaking, it was cold but worth being out on the deck looking at the beautiful sky.Couple of cautions- the cabin is out there, and the nearest grocery store is about 35-40 minutes away. The elevation is high if you're not used to it and may cause you to slow down :)

Wanderlust retreat

We had a wonderful stay at this cabin outside Buena Vista! It is a beautiful cabin in a stunning location. The hosts were responsive and wonderful to work with. The cabin instructions/info were clear and comprehensive. This time away brought the rest and restoration we needed!

Updated cabin in the woods

Everything went well when we checked in, and communicating with our host was easy. They replied very quickly to messages. My son enjoyed the small arcade downstairs and watching movies on the main level.

Hi guests!!! We're the owners, Terry & Ronnie....THANK YOU for checking out our little log cabin! We take great pride in our little place and are so thankful we get to share it with others. We do all of the cleaning ourselves to make sure everything is just right for your stay. This cabin has been Mr. Terry's labor of love since he retired. The cabin is close to everything but far enough away from the city life. We really enjoy our time here being in nature and the mountain views. Don't forget about the stars! Warm your toes by the wood stove and enjoy the stars from the couch ! The cabin is away from city lights so on a moonless night the stars are everywhere! Spend a little time looking up and hopefully you'll see a shooting star. We've seen lots! It's a great place to cozy up after a day of skiing or hiking, or tackling that 14er, or whatever your wandering takes you.
We know many guests want to bring their 4 legged love ones with them to the cabin. Please reach out to us for any concerns regarding the size of your dog.
