Great for big family / group gathering
Moonstone Villa was perfect for our family reunion. Us with kids stayed in the downstairs apartment so that the kids wouldn't disturb the rest of the family in the middle of the night, or early in the morning. The pool was the perfect size, and got lots of shade in the early afternoon. During our stay the games room was not available, due to water damage on the ceiling, so that was a bummer. Having a washer and dryer was convenient, but beware, it is outdoors. At night, the indoor lighting is on the dim side, especially in the dining and living rooms, and downstairs bathrooms.
Communication with Tracey was superb, she always responded within 12-24 hours. Khun Chaa, the housekeeper, is a great chef, and she can produce a great dinner buffet by herself! Khun View, the transportation and activities manager, is also very helpful and easily accessible to arrange quick rides. Pick up from the airport was smooth, and it was helpful to be able to grocery shop for beverages and snacks prior to arriving at the villa (if you plan to have Khun Chaa cook, just give her money for the raw ingredients; much easier than buying ingredients yourself ahead of time). We booked an evening sunset cruise on a private yacht, and the family was delighted with the experience. We booked an in-villa massage, which was nice and convenient.
The villa was located in a quiet neighborhood, but depending on other guests at other villas that don't belong to the same owner, it was sometimes loud and obnoxious to hear others' loud party music (especially at 2am!). The sala by the stairs to go down to the apartment is a great place to view sunrise over the trees and rooftops. Overall, wonderful place to stay with a great staff to assist.
