Poor Communication, No Response Until AFTER we cancelled our reservation.
Immediately upon booking I messaged the host stating we'd stayed before (booked through another host site) and that we were excited to stay again. Day of, we messaged the property owner stating we would be late check in, and they did not respond. We've stayed on property before with late check-in, and had zero issues. Normally we get a text message with check-in time, room number, and door entry code the morning of, or the night before. We did not receive that this time until 2:39 in the morning, after over 2.5 hours of sitting in their parking lot scrambling with customer service trying to get ahold of the host, AFTER customer service had cancelled the room, advised of return payment, and were left scrambling for a place to stay at close to 3 o'clock in the morning. Through text when I sent them the screen shot of my attempts to contact them, all they stated was "Never Received". No apologies or empathy for the situation. No offer of resolution. Nothing. When I go back now and look at the same message thread, it shows Cancelled and the reason for this is GUEST_MINIMUM_AGE. I'm sorry, what? I'm 45 yrs old. I assure you, age is not the issue here.This is a place I would have stayed over and over due to the convenient location, cleanliness, and ease. After this, I don't think I can ever again, even if I book through the other site.
