The most outstanding vacation we have ever taken. The home is beautiful and at a perfect location. All bedrooms are very private. The staff, from Glennis to Blanca and Herman are wonderful. Glennis arranged side events for us, ziplining, horseback riding, sunset cruise, paddle boarding, snorkeling, and deep sea fishing. All were a perfect fit for our 10 people. A real highlight was Dania, our private chef! Meals were five star and she made sure the selections were our choosing. This is a five star home. I highly recommend!

Amazing Getaway!

We stayed here for 4 nights and wish we could have stayed a month! This place is amazing! You feel like you are on your own private secluded beach and we spent every evening out on the veranda soaking in the view! You will not be disappointed...this is definitely a one-of-a-kind vacation spot! We can't wait to go back!

Heaven on Earth

We’ve stayed in some fabulous VRBOs over the years but this one has them all beat, hands down. The location, the house, and the gracious and always helpful owner were all wonderful. Add to that all the little things that make such a big difference (charging stations in every rooms, flashlights for beach walks, quality pool floats, private concierge, two large capacity coffee makers, etc etc etc) and you have a property that exceeds every expectation. We’re in the airport waiting to fly home and I’m already dreaming about when we can come back!

Incredible VRBO

This property, from the bedroom suites to the kitchen to the caretakers and the beach, was incredible. We had plenty of space to spread out and the kitchen/common area had everything we could need. As a family that loves games, we enjoyed the closet with so many choices. Caretakers were awesome and the property manager, Glennis, was extremely helpful. From dinner reservations to recommendations on excursions, we were so thankful for her guidance! We would absolutely return again and will recommend this house to others traveling to Costa Rica - it was a dream, for sure.

Family Vacation

Property was very beautiful and comfortable for 9 people. Kitchen was fully equipped with coffee makers, mixers, microwave, glasses, dishware, utensils as well as full array of condiments, mustard, ketchup, etc. The bedrooms were spacious, clean and very comfortable. The main part of the house had plenty of room and seating with tv and sound system. The pool and patio area were outstanding. Local traffic was very congested for travel to restaurants, The local property coordinator was extremely helpful and responsive. The adjacent beach was beautiful but required about 20 steps to access. Very enjoyable with plenty of space for a large group. The on-property attendants were very accommodating- general cleaning, making up rooms in the morning, pool towels available and keeping the kitchen organized. Enjoyed our stay.

Paradise

Our family ages 11-79, loved the week in this beautiful home. It was perfect for our family of 9. The house and location is paradise. The beach is beautiful and almost like a private beach. Glennis was wonderful to decorate the house for Christmas and make arrangements for all our outings. She is so delightful and had everything perfect for us. Chef Luis cooked meals for us everyday and we loved everything he fixed. Herman and Blanca keep the house and grounds spotless. I cannot thank the owners enough for the use of their wonderful home. All 9 of us say we want to return there for our next family trip. Everyone we met in Costa Rica was pleasant and friendly. What a beautiful place.

Our whole experience was absolutely perfect! This home is so gorgeous! The views are heavenly! The design is perfect for large groups! It was so nice that everyone had their own suites that were so quiet you didn’t hear a thing! The kitchen/living area is absolutely beautiful! The pool/lounging area is so pretty and relaxing!! The owner is so easy to work with! I feel like we’re friends! The property managers are so informative and very helpful! The caretakers Blanca and Herman are the cutest and sweetest! And so hard working!! They keep the property looking great your entire visit! The beach is one of the prettiest and cleanest I’ve seen! The location for dining and shopping is so convenient! The locals are so nice, they all make you feel so welcome! We loved our trip and I’m sure we’ll be back!

Don't hesitate to stay at this beautiful home!

We spent a week at Casa Playa Flamingo, ages 1-65. This house has everything you need - beachfront on the quiet end of Playa Flamingo + a clean, beautiful pool with a large 1 foot deep area for the little kids + lovely bedrooms, living area, kitchen with everything (games, full kitchen supplies, plenty of pool lounge chairs + 2 big pool umbrellas, chairs for the beach, chargers, bottled water, plenty of hot water. The caretakers Blanca and Herman keep everything clean and tidy, and the concierge Glennis helps with reservations, and answers questions via Whats App very quickly. The owner helps with suggestions for restaurants, tours, etc. If you have the chance, hire private chef Dania. Her food is very, very tasty and she accommodates a mix of needs (vegan/vegetarian/etc). I can't think of anything negative to say about this house! My only suggestion to travelers is to be careful when eating out - as in all travel, GI trouble can happen.

Casa Playa Bonita - Simply The Best!

The overall experience was first class. Lisa is a great host and facilitated the process on the front end. She is very attentive and responsive. She set up a call with us to answer any questions and provide any recommendations prior to arriving at Casa Playa Bonita. Lisa handed us off to Glennis, our concierge, who was very helpful with setting up our itinerary for the week. She's a local, so she has all the contacts and helped coordinate transportation, fishing, ziplining / horseback riding tour, dinner reservations, a chef to prepare meals at the house, etc. She was there to greet us and continued to support us every step of the way, including making a few changes and additions to the itinerary while on location - thanks for being patient with us Glennis! The house is beautiful and has all the amenities you want and need (kayaks, pool floats, cable TV, fast internet, full kitchen and appliances), an awesome pool with a jacuzzi, and it's just steps away from the beach. Can't beat the location in Playa Flamingo. Blanca and Herman rounded up the experience making sure the place is clean and kept up. We typically travel to Mexico, but we are glad we ventured to CR and hit the jackpot at Casa Playa Bonita. Can't wait to go back!

A perfect beach experience!

We had such a fantastic time at your home! I think you have thought of everything. We have rented many homes through VRBO when we have traveled in the US and out of the country. Yours has been by far the best we have rented! We loved Costa Rica…the location, the people, the beauty of it all. The set up of the house couldn't be better….everything is so well appointed and having Blanca and Herman there was wonderful. I don't think we could have done it all without Yoko's help! She is a treasure! We especially loved our sailing/snorkeling trip with Panache and we could not have lived without our trips to Coco Loco! Your suggestions were spot on! We loved the beach area and made well use of your boogie boards! We were there for 2 weeks…the first week with adults and the second week with our children and grandchildren. Although we enjoyed our trips away from the house, by far our favorite times were poolside and beachfront with our family and friends. It is a unique property. We felt like we were staying in a 5 star hotel by ourselves!!

Best Family Vacation in Paradise!!!

Magnificent property! This home was perfect for our large family. We enjoyed the pool/outdoor area so much! It was so relaxing to float in the pool and relax in the hot tub and enjoy the beautiful ocean views! The stairs to the beach are easy and convenient. You feel like you are on your own private beach. We took out the kayaks that are at the house and really had fun, and also used the boogie board regularly! To hear the sound of waves everyday was very soothing. The outdoor area's for seating/eating are perfect and comfortable. Most morning's you would find us drinking coffee on the back patio mesmerized by the beautiful ocean views. All the bedroom suites were very comfortable and very private. Opening your sliding glass door every morning to the pool area was a special treat! The kitchen is perfect, it has everything you need. We had chef Dania prepare a fabulous meal for us one evening, to celebrate my daughter in laws's birthday and it was truly special. I would recommend if you have a chance. Coco Loco is a must!! I have to say thank you to Lisa for opening up her beautiful home to us. We had such beautiful memories made there... And a big thank you to Herman and Blanca who maintain the home. They are very special. And a huge thank you to Glennis the property manager who made all of our excursions and experiences in Costa Rica so very special.

Family vacation in Costa Rican paradise

Casa Playa Bonita was everything we anticipated and even better. The owner, Lisa, and our family had video calls upon booking and as we approached our arrival date. She was gracious and more helpful than any owner from whom we have rented. She provided us with loads of advice on activities, dining, amenities in the house, transportation and much more. Lisa also put us in touch with the property concierge, Yoko, with whom we had several calls prior to arrival. Yoko booked restaurant reservations, excursions with transportation, in home prepared meals, COVID tests, in home massages and more for us. She was in constant contact with us during our stay via WhatsApp and cell phone calls. She was incredibly responsive. The caretakers at Casa Playa Bonita, Blanca and Herman, took care of our needs without us having to ask. Blanca cooked two meals, a breakfast and a dinner, for us and they were every bit as good as what we had in local restaurants. They kept the inside and outside of the house clean, neat and fresh. They also exuded Costa Rican charm and Pura Vida! The house and the property were spectacular. We enjoyed that all 5 bedrooms exited onto the pool and that the main house was spacious and comfortable. Amenities were plentiful not just in the kitchen but throughout the house and bedrooms. Mornings found us on the patio behind the house drinking coffee and tea after morning walks on the beach or up the mountain. Many afternoons saw us lounging on the beach or at the pool. The beach was beautiful and close to being private. Evenings found us relaxing after dinners in the pool gazebo or the main house playing board games. One evening even had a surprise retirement party. This was the second trip to Costa Rica for about half in our party and won't be our last. If you enjoy a wonderful beachfront location, an inviting house and first class service we recommend Casa Play Bonita.

Paradise!

This property (and the owner) did not disappoint! It is beautiful, clean, every amenity you could imagine and...did I say beautiful! We had a pre-trip conference call with the owner, Lisa and she answered every question we had and then some. The transportation to/from the airport to the house was great and the car rental delivery to the house is worth it. Yoko did a great job making all of our reservations. It was seamless. Trust her to do a great job. Blanca and Herman were delightful and available during the day, but not at all intrusive. After cleaning the bedrooms, you don't know they're around. It was perfect. The house is very spacious, the rooms have everything you need. Each bedroom has shampoo, conditioner, (even coconut scented body wash), hair dryer, multiple type chargers for cell phones, etc., ceiling fan, AC controls, plenty of drawer/closet space, and a tv (though who would want to watch it when you're in paradise). The kitchen lacks nothing. It has an oversized bottled water dispenser that we took to refill once in 6 days (and there were 6 of us). The tap water was fine and we used it for coffee and didn't have an issue. Note: the milk at the grocery stores there is different (the type that isn't refrigerated on the store shelf--we refrigerated ours) but the people who used it said it tasted fine. We could only find one store that carried liquid coffee creamer and it cost a fortune. Might think of bringing the individual miniatures with you. There are a ton of games in the living area chest. Having never been to Costa Rica, I was a little anxious about was the safety of the area/house. After seeing the property and the surroundings, I felt absolutely safe. We walked the beach at night and sat outside late and never felt uncomfortable. Truly one of our best vacations and worth the money. I hope we get to make a return trip one day. Thank you, Lisa! The best of the best beach house in CR

If you are looking for a great property with a large group 10 or so, this house is for you. Especially if you are wanting a direct access to a very private beach. The owner has thought of just about everything for you in this place. In fact it might be the best VRBO I have stayed at (and I have stayed everywhere in them). The house comes with an in house care taker and they clean up and make sure all goes well while you are there. The owner is also the most hands on owner I have worked with. She was a huge help in making my first trip to CR a success. I could go on and on but I am sure this review will make one understand what you renting. Cheers to Lisa and Team

I don't think there could be a more perfect house for a beach vacation! We had a wonderful time. The house easily accommodated our family including a young infant. Lisa, the host , was very caring and communicative and Herman and Blanca, who work at the house, were wonderful. The property is so well maintained and the beach is glorious! We plan to return and highly recommend it.

Disappointed...

Overall, this experience didn’t meet our expectations. I understand Covid has impacted many aspects of our lives, including the service industry, but there are some things where excuses shouldn’t apply. I will start with the very few positive things, and those are: location, layout of the house, access to the beach and local beach restaurant called Coco Loco that is in walking distance from the house. The layout of the house is wonderful. The house has 5 bedrooms with private baths, and each room is like a separate unit, so people may easily and independently have access to the kitchen, living room, pool, and the beach without disturbing other guests. The beach is beautiful and almost feels as if it is private, very few people, clean, secluded, but at the same time has a restaurant in walking distance from the house, which was very convenient for quick and easy lunches and/or dinners. Now, about the shortcomings of this stay…. It appeared as if the house had been vacant for a long time, and it had an awful strong musty smell. The house hadn’t been aired out, and it was almost unbearable to stay in the rooms for the very first night of our week-long stay. Since Blanca (who doesn’t speak any English) and Yoko couldn’t provide us with any solutions on how to air out this overwhelming smell, I texted the owner Lisa, who entirely ignored my message and never followed up throughout the duration of our week-long stay to find out how we were doing. The ‘concierge’ Yoko met us at the house only on the 1st day of our stay and never came by or called to see if there was anything we needed during the entire week. Prior to our departure I had requested to book a fishing trip and find out if there are any aerial photography tours available, and I never got any response on these requests. I ended up booking my own fishing trip via FishingBooker (with captain Victor and the boat named Sea Hunter 1), and we had a spectacular fishing trip! While in Costa Rica, I asked Yoko to see if I could get a tee time for my husband at the nearby golf course, to which she responded that it’s not open to the public without even checking on it. My husband called the golf course and was able to book a tee time with no issues. So, if you are a world-traveler and used to ‘true’ concierge services, please note that Yoko’s services do not qualify as concierge services, and most of the time you will be left doing the legwork yourself. So, this was our experience at Casa Playa Bonita…

Dear Agnese, I appreciate the feedback. I value communication and that is why I personally called you prior to your trip and reached out twice after your trip. Unfortunately, I never received your text. I would have responded promptly had I received it. I am glad you enjoyed the house. I'm sorry that the "service" aspect did not meet your expectations. Just to be clear, Yoko is not a professional concierge. She is my property manager who works with my clients to assist them with reservations and services during their stay. I know that Yoko tried hard to please you and make your stay as positive as possible. She and I communicated several times throughout the week and she made me aware of your unfortunate experience with the chef. I apologize for the water situation. No excuse for that. I will address that issue with my staff. I know this was your first VRBO rental. We consistently provide a great vacation experience for our clients as evidenced by all 5 star reviews. I'm sorry that your experience fell short of that. I take your feedback seriously and always strive to get better. Best, Lisa

We traveled to Casa Playa Bonita with a group of friends (5 couples) and were blown away by the exceptional beauty and functionality of the property. The accommodations proved perfect for our needs of cooking, lounging, boogie boarding, snorkeling, etc. We followed the advice of the owner and concierge and had an incredible week. We highly recommend staying at Casa Playa Bonita.
