We loved this cabin, it's cozy, clean, full of light and beautifully fitted out and we couldn't have been more comfortable. It was nice to be able to walk into town, and getting to the wildlife of the Lamar Valley is an easy drive, and you can also cover the Grand Loop from here, albeit in a long day.
Even though there was still a huge amount of snow on the ground we managed to get a spectacular blue-sky trip up and over the Beartooth Pass (not to be missed). Breakfasts (and Terri's cakes) at the Bearclaw were amazing; the Lamar Valley was breathtaking; and there were bears, buffalo and moose everywhere (even some bear prints outside the front door one day - that must have been the one that the neighbour's dog chased up a tree!)
Cooke City is one of the best-kept secrets of the park and we're so glad we chose this friendly little town and this cabin as our main base for Yellowstone. THOROUGHLY RECOMMENDED!
