Cedar Retreat located in God's Country, on East Bass Lake. Sleeps 10!

"Nestled in the heart of God’s county, just outside of Gwinn, MI, you will find the peaceful East Bass Lake full of blue gill, largemouth bass, and breathtaking views. Cozied up to the lake, sitting quaintly on its jutting peninsula, is our fully furnished ‘Cedar Retreat’. Blending in with its surrounding vegetation, the Cedar Retreat offers a quiet, tranquil, and a peaceful overall break from our fast-pace reality, while still being accessible to Marquette and Gwinn. Close to trail #8, our all-season getaway is prefect for all walks of life. You will have the entire cabin to yourself and other guests within your party. All linens, kitchenware and cooking spices will be included.

With the ability to sleep up to 10 guests, the Cedar Retreat houses a total of 3 bedrooms and 3 full baths. Our main floor features 2 bedrooms; 1 bunk room with 2 sets of bunks, and 1 bedroom with a queen size bed and private bathroom. The spacious master suite including a private master bath and walk in closet, is located in the loft above. In addition to the beds, there is a pull-out queen sofa bed located in the living room.

A gourmet chef's dream is complete with our fully functional kitchen featuring expansive cabinets, a double oven, glass stove top, and spacious double door refrigerator. Adjacent to the kitchen is a dining room area with a unique, custom made, tin ceiling accent. Across from the gourmet kitchen is the living room, featuring a sensational view. Imagine waking up and drinking a cup of coffee or tea while watching the sunrise or snuggled up by the fire place, sipping a cup of hot cocoa while snowflakes swirl and dance their way to the ground. Just through the door in the living room, on our spacious deck is a hot tub and gathering area perfect for entertaining and taking a relaxing dip after a fun-filled day on the water. While staying at our retreat, you will have accessibility to kayaks, a paddle boat, and our newly renovated dock to use at your leisure. East Bass Lake is EXCELLENT for panfish fishing, toss in a line off our dock and we can almost guarantee a catch with every cast.

Cedar Retreat is also equipped with a Tesla Charger.
We are located approximately 2 miles from trail#8 and the Kwik Trip gas station, 22.7 miles from the heart of Marquette with amenities like golfing, hiking, shopping, and skiing, 44.8 miles from Munising with amenities like the Pictured Rocks Tours, and 172 miles from Mackinaw City.

We chose this location for our honeymoon as we thought it would be a more private location. The cabin was lovely, very clean, and welcoming. The location was beautifully located right on the water. However, if you are looking for seclusion this is not the cabin. We were hugely disappointed to be right in the middle of so many other houses in what seemed to be a subdivision type setting around the lake. If you are looking a family getaway with lake access in a beautiful cabin, this is perfect.

The pictures don't do this justice! This gem is absolutely the best! The best views of the lake! We met neighbors who were so nice, they took us out on a pontoon ride and showed us Bass lake! We can't wait to return!

The house was perfect, just as described. The view was amazing, and the lake was literally steps from the front door. The kayaks and hot tub were a big hit and being able to fish from the docks provided something to do for everyone in our group. The host was very responsive and great to work with. The perfect relaxing week for our families:)

Special location/home. Eagles!! Fishing!!

This home is very special. Fantastic location tucked away in Bass Lake which is known for the best fishing in the area. Grandson caught a couple large mouth bass. He spent hours every single day dock fishing. Family enjoyed the comfort of this home and beautiful view of the lake. The furniture inside and out was comfortable. This is the place to be to unwind from your daily chaos. Hope to return.

Private Oasis

We were pleasantly surprised to find that the property is on a peninsula with water on both sides. The view is gorgeous. There was plenty of fishing to be done from either dock or the shore, but all small—need a boat to get a decent catch. Kitchen could have been better stocked (no can opener?) and missing cabinet handles, but the cabin was wonderful. Beautifully decorated with a lot of thought given to the comfort and convenience of the guests. Loved it!

Cedar Retreat

A beautiful lake front house in the middle of a peninsula. We loved the decor of the house. The house had lots of windows with lake views. A veranda allows you to sun yourself if weather permits or sit under the covered section to listen to the rain. Property manager, Sadie, was very friendly and responsive.

Family Vacation on East Bass Lake.

Beautiful and peaceful place to spend a long weekend. Very responsive hosts that had the house PERFECT for us. The loft bedroom is to die for! The hot tub was a perfect way to end each night. Our family had a great time at The Cedar Retreat. We would come back again.

Wonderful stay!!

No complaints whatsoever! Property was beautiful; the location was wonderful, amenties were great! Communication with the owner/host was outstanding with a fantastic check in process. Would definitely recommend and if going to the area again, this property will be our first choice.

Combined families of 4 adults 5 children (including tween/teens) in town to attend a wedding and enjoy the area for a few extra days. Communication with the host and check in were super easy, prompt responses and very welcoming! The house is 10 steps from deck to water and the water is shallow, clean and clear! We all enjoyed swimming and kayaking! Within 30 minutes of arrival we saw a moose, an eagle and hawk. The home is clean, comfortable beds and the decorative touches throughout truly make it feel like home! Plenty of space for everyone and the hot tub easily fit 4 adults and was a great way to end each day of our stay.If you’re looking for a peaceful space for a family or friend vacation in the Marquette area this is it! Fantastic experience!! We have decided to make this an annual stay for our families!Highly recommend this rental and bring your binoculars!

Family friendly

clean, well decorated, pleanty of room in the kitchen and living room for a large family or a small one. Did not have to bring anything for the kitchen. Fridge was wonderful. Outside you could sit in either the sun or the shade. Very pleasant stay.

Beautiful House and Property

In a nicely secluded neighborhood on the Lake. Very Clean, big deck on the house, updated interior. The lake view is the best. Right on the lake with big windows to see everything. Wonderful to wake up to. Heat was perfect for our stay in November. Will definitely stay here again if we are ever in Gwinn.

All the Boxes Checked!

I was tasked with finding a place to stay for our family to celebrate our son's wedding weekend. I looked for a place that would sleep at least 8 (Cedar Retreat sleeps 10), had adequate space and bathrooms (open floor plan and 3 bathrooms), air conditioning, and a good size kitchen with nice appliances. Like I said it checked all the boxes and exceeded our expectations. The outdoor area is outstanding as well. Seating for 10 people and I know this because were ALL sitting outside star gazing one night. This is when my sister said, "we should make this an annual event!" I knew that Cedar Retreat had a hand in creating a new family tradition. Everyone was comfortable in all areas of the home. Thank you for a wonderful, checked all the boxes kind of stay!

Best Vacation We Have Had

We have been vacationing in the Upper Peninsula for a few years now. Without a doubt I can say that this property has been the best we have stayed at during our vacation. Kelly was great to work with and made it very easy. The house is gorgeous with plenty of room for our group (2 families of 4 and 1 small dog). The property is right in the heart of all of the great places to go see in western (U.P.) Michigan. We spent 8 nights at the property. 3 days we just decided to stay home and enjoy the view, and the lake that was available. We rented a small fishing boat from the local bait shop for the week and was able to dock it to the dock in front of the house. The kids loved catching the bluegill and crappie the lake had to offer as well as swim/kayak. The lake on the backside of the house is not very deep so they had no issue swimming out away from shore. Another perk we didnt know about until we got there was that you have access to both the dock across the street and the one out your back yard. The hot tub was amazing! Especially when it was raining outside. At night, after we all were out in the sun all day it was nice to come back to the house where the central AC made it great for sleeping. The upstairs shower is another nice touch. At night we were able to connect to netflix and watch a movie, while the kids played on their nintendo switch. Really I have no complaints at all. We are already talking about getting this property again next year. Thanks again!!

Amazing Lakefront Getaway

We absolutely loved our week at Cedar Retreat! This cottage was perfect for our family of six (including my senior parents and adult children). We especially enjoyed this gorgeous property's stunning lakefront views, modern furnishings, comfy beds, and roomy interior. During our stay, we had a great time kayaking on the lake, catching fish from this cabin's two docks, and unwinding in the included hot tub. All in all, this was one of the most beautiful, comfortable, and relaxing properties we've ever rented. We're looking forward to returning in the future!

Beautiful Stay

We had a great stay at this cottage on the lake! Caught several fish throughout the stay - pike, a few big bass and sunfish. View from living room was incredible. The hot tub was great. The lake was nice - not a great swimming lake but you can definitely wade in a ways - and our young boys didn’t mind swimming in it! Would definitely return.

Cedar Retreat was a wonderful place for our family of 10 to vacation together. The cabin was very clean and was situated right on the water. The Master Suite was magazine cover worthy! We enjoyed a gorgeous view every day. Our teens had loads of fun fishing and kayaking. We brought 2 kayaks and with the 3 the cabin provided, everyone was busy. Thanks for a great experience!

Perfect Summer Getaway

We loved our stay at the Cedar Retreat and our expectations were exceeded from the moment we pulled up. Picturesque views of the lake and beautifully decorated on the inside. The double-bunk room worked out perfectly for the 10-13yo kids. They spent hours in the kayaks and hot tub. The quiet setting was ideal for relaxing. Docks on both sides of the peninsula provided options for dropping in a fishing line. The upstairs bedroom suite was unbelievable! There's no doubt, we'll look into this property for our next UP vacation. I could stay there for an entire summer. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
