Really nice house but some downsides

Check in was a breeze and easy to find. The house matched the pictures. However, the neighborhood was just a little sketchy, nothing too crazy though. The motion sensor kept going on and off with the trees in the back yard, so I wish there was a way to keep them on. The sheets were not that clean. When the host sent the checkout instructions, the link to the Doc didn't work and I let him know but there was nothing back in time for check out so I am not sure what I was supposed to do for checkout.

Great Rental!

Clean, comfortable, quiet house that has a beautiful backyard sanctuary with firepit and is very conveniently located near key locations in Charleston. Owners are very friendly and truly care about their guests.

Great little cottage!

We enjoyed our stay very much. The location is convenient to downtown Charleston which was one of our main requirements. The cottage was very clean, and the check-in process was extremely smooth. We loved the openness of the cottage and I particularly enjoyed the covered patio beside the cabana.

A terrible stay

Usually I don’t leave reviews but I wanted to give a heads up to any other renters. The entire back patio that is listed is so covered in mildew and dirt it is not accessible. Not to mention a broken door handle. In addition, I heard multiple gun shots, beware the neighborhood is very dangerous.This renter also charged me for dust and clean up that was unnecessary. Just a heads up for people wanting to stay here.

Graduation

My son and i came for my oldest boys graduation from the navy nuke program.. the house is located within 10 minutes of downtown. The house is small but beautiful and the outdoor area and cabania would be a great place to entertain.. i will definitely check availability for my next trip in March..

Great Insides!

The interior seems to be completely brand new, there are still price tag stickers left on things! All the amenities you could need (except side tables next to the bed). Loved the private back yard so you could enjoy the window in the shower and the patio in peace. The neighborhood does seem to be in transition, cute breweries and fancy pizza places a few streets over. This property is still on the side that has been historically under-resourced. The neighbors were very engaged in our comings and goings! One gentleman even followed us into the front lawn as we were grabbing things from the car. But once we were inside or in the back yard it was totally fine, just the occasional train noise!

Perfectly remodeled house

Such a cute little house, nicely decorated/remodeled and easy commute to downtown. I loved the backyard for the pups and the lounge was so cute. Please be aware that mosquitoes are the state bird of SC so bring spray with you! The neighbors were very nice although it was a little loud on Friday and Sat night, but as I live on a farm it’s possible I’m more sensitive than others. Playing rain sounds on the TV drowned out the noise. When I booked I was concerned about the area and while it was out of my comfort zone I never felt unsafe as everyone takes great care of their houses and the neighborhood is up and coming.

Neighborhood needs help

I want to first say that this home is great if you entertain inside and out back. Upon arrival… 3 police cars at one end of road and the other three police cars at the other end. Shopping cart, and trash in the yard. Later on during the stay… we were approached by vagrants for money and cigarettes from across the street. It appeared that the home across the street was vacant and under renovations, but the vagrants sit on that porch several times throughout the four day stay. I would suggest to your local police department to ride this street more often and maybe things will start looking better. Neighborhood clean up day would also be a plus.

Not great.

When I tried to message to host at any point, they never responded. When we got to the property the locking system was dead and we couldn’t gain entry. To get into the house we had to go to the back of the property which forced us to walk through hundreds of untreated ant hills. When we gained entry we found there was no curtain or blinds on the bathroom Window. Exposing people showing to the outside. The fan in one of the rooms was falling out of the ceiling with exposed wiring. When one of my friends/their guests sat down to put on her socks one of the pegs in their bed frame cracked and broke, and she fell onto the ground. The beds are cheap and not made very well. There was dog hair all over the couch. I completely understand that this is a pet friendly property, but there’s no reason that the couch should not have been cleaned before someone else stayed in it. There was long black human hair on my pillows in my room. I have silver hair. So 100% was not mine. We found a giant black mold spot over the guest room window. We had not found it until we woke up and was getting ready to leave. I was very upset that one of my friends had to sleep in that condition. They were breathing in black mold all night. I hate to leave a bad review, but I did try and contact the property several times with no response. It’s an unfortunate situation And we will not be staying here again. It is a good property if you are in a pinch, and you are willing to take the risk on this property.
