Welcome to your La Mesa retreat! This charming guesthouse offers a bright and airy one-bedroom apartment with a comfortable living room and a fully equipped kitchen. Enjoy the convenience of a private patio, shared outdoor pool, and a BBQ grill for delightful evenings. Located in the peaceful hills, you'll find a perfect blend of relaxation and convenience.



The Space:

Step into this inviting guesthouse, starting with the open-concept living space. The kitchen boasts retro-inspired appliances, fully equipped for preparing meals, and includes coffee, tea, and popcorn. The living area features a TV and a comfortable queen-size sofa bed. The adjacent bedroom offers a queen-size bed, an office desk, and a reading nook. The newly remodeled bathroom features a large shower. Step outside to your private patio with a bistro set, overlooking the outdoor pool. Guests also have access to a shared laundry room and a large backyard with a playground, outdoor toys, and fruit trees.



Guest Access:

Guests have fully private access to the guest house, and all shared outdoor spaces (pool, courtyard, seating areas)

Nestled in the heart of La Mesa, known as the 'Jewel of the Hills,' our guesthouse offers a prime location in a highly desirable community. Enjoy the charm of tree-lined streets and walkable neighborhoods. You're just a short drive from San Diego's top attractions, including the Zoo, SeaWorld, Coronado Beach, and downtown San Diego. Explore the quaint downtown village of La Mesa, with its unique shops and dining options, all within easy reach. Experience the perfect blend of tranquility and convenience, with easy access to retail and commercial areas.



Getting Around:

Getting around is easiest by car, and we offer free parking. For those who enjoy a walk, the La Mesa Village farmers market and shops are a pleasant 20-minute stroll away through the scenic hills. For travel to San Diego International Airport (SAN), the drive is approximately 20-25 minutes, depending on traffic.



Interaction with Guests:

Outdoor spaces are shared with guests from all three vacation rentals on property. I am happy to assist with anything you might need during your stay. You have a private back entrance to your home right next to where you’ll park.

Relaxing Stay

We were in the area for our granddaughter's 2nd birthday. The poolside retreat was perfect for our stay. Great location, in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood. We will definitely be back!

This is an EXCELLENT little property for families with young children! There are many shared amenities that are prefect for the kiddos and the pool is fully fenced. There is a unit above this one that can be quite noisy as the walls seem fairly thin, and we had a few issues with the wifi going in and out, but other than that would definitely recommend and will stay again!

Retro Poolside 1 Bedroom

The accommodations were in good condition in a quiet neighborhood close to downtown La Mesa. We enjoyed the proximity to relatives that live in the area. You do have to walk from the living room through the bathroom to get to into the bedroom. Since the unit is titled as "Retro Poolside" it was unfortunate the pool was not heated thus making it somewhat unusable in the late fall. If the pool is mentioned in the listing I think it should also indicate the pool is unheated so those looking for a pool know the situation.

Clean, but loud and uncomfortable

Unit A is clean and well-appointed, but it’s on the first floor and you can hear everything that happens in the unit above, including every step taken, a crying baby, walking, running, partying, laughing and whatever else was going on. It was so loud we were woken up many times during the nights and first thing in the morning. The owner was responsive when we complained but there was nothing that could be done. Also the pullout couch is unusable so my sister slept on the couch - not comfitwble at all. Would not stay here again.
