I would like to let our guests know that I speak fluent English, I am the host, my name is Juliano. I am able to help our guests in English, quite a bit in Spanish and my first language Portuguese. Nevertheless, If it is a language that I don’t know, I still will do my best to communicate and provide the best experience for our guests, for instance, using Google translate. Hence, I am able to assist guests traveling from other countries to our beautiful city Rio de Janeiro. I encourage the tourism in our beautiful city and staying at our place with the best experience. This specific review unfortunately does not reflect our hard work to best provide feel like home accommodation for our guests. Even though arrangements were made for an early check-in, this specific guest made it to the location even earlier than informed. As soon as we learned that he was already at the building, we hushed to meet him and handle the keys. Before and after reservation we was always in touch and I assisted answering many questions. That’s part of my job and I love it. Fell free to ask question about the accommodation and city in general. Despite that, we do remind our guests that in Brazil the official language is Portuguese, and only very few people speak other language than Portuguese. Some understanding and most importantly tolerance is key and beneficial, like travel to any other country that speaks a different language than you do. During the stay we always make sure to keep in touch to our guests and be available in case they need anything we may assist with. A hotel will not provide the same experience like being at the comfort of your home, while traveling. Our place does. Your privacy and your way, we invite you to feel like home. This guest review does not really represent what happened. Since the very first contact the guest had been provided with all the adequate information in English, since I’m the host (Juliano) and I am fluent in English, besides Portuguese. I was available to talk to him through out the whole reservation process . He arrived at the apartment way earlier than he told us and previously agreed. But still we made last minute arrangements to not have him waiting, accommodating his early check-in. I am the host and I am able to communicate in different languages even using Google translate if it is a language I don’t understand. Regarding the allegation of waiting in the lobby for 45 minutes, and about the door man not speaking English and unable to assist meanwhile, I have to point it out that in Brazil people only speak Portuguese. Guests visiting Brazil need to understand that the majority of the population do not speak English at all, hence, it is a good practice to be understanding and tolerant about it. Also may use Google translate to help communication if needed. Common sense is not a strength to this guest, although we have mad all the effort to best accommodate him. I encourage other travellers to contact me directly and stay at our place, since this single review does not reflect the majority of other positive reviews and the quality of our services in accommodation sector. A hotel will never be like our apartment. If you like an experience like home, even when travelling, our place is the way to go. You can cook, you can seat on the couch and relax watching closed paid tv subscriptions. Experience way past hotels practices. Lastly, the host correctly pointed out the apartment has excellent location and we appreciate that comment.
