Our short vacation was fabulous. The house was super clean and we had a lot of space for three persons. The house had everything we could have asked for! The location of the house was perfect to get to Isafjordur and other points of interest in the area. We were able to see a lot of whales and a glimpse of northern lights!

Großes Haus mit Billiard, Grill, Terrasse. Ruhig gelegen und nah genug an Isafjördur für den Einkauf. Das Putzen ist schon gewöhungsbedürftig, aber bei 5 Leuten ist man schnell durch.

Perfektes Ferienhaus!

Man fühlt sich wie zu Hause. Perfekt ausgestattet - insbesondere die Küche - sauber - durchdachte Aufteilung und als kleines Highlight - das Spiel- Billardzimmer! Nicht top modern - aber top Qualität- im Wohn-Esszimmer. Tolle Lage für Ausflüge ! …und zum chillen für die Regentage :-)

Our first time in the West Fjords!

Just outside of Isafjordur, this spacious well equipped house met all our needs and then some. Three full bedrooms, a bath and 1/2, and spacious living room with a beautiful view. The kitchen had everything we needed. The game room had plenty of entertainment for our 3 year old. The location was great for seeing all we wanted of the area. You will love this place!

Peace and Quiet in the Beautiful West Fjords

My wife and I truly enjoyed our stay at Rikki and Judi's vacation home in Hnifsdalur in the West Fjords. The first things we noticed, besides the stunning views in every direction, were the peace and quiet. The home is cozy and comfortable and stocked with everything you might need. We did a lot of hiking. We visited the Arctic Fox Center in Sudavik. We ate at several local restaurants including a thai restaurant in the shopping mall that contained the Net market, the Edinborg Bistro and another local place called the Tjoruhusid--I cannot recommend this place enough as the food and atmosphere is excellent (I will leave it at that-you must experience it!). Rikki and Judi were very easy to work with and answered all our questions in a timely fashion. I highly recommend their home and look forward to visiting it again in the future.

A great Westfjords location

The check in was very easy and our hosts were very communicative. The house was very clean and had plenty of space. Although, there were only two of us, there is plenty of room for a larger group. A great location close to town and easy access to many amazing sites/ hikes in the area. It is a Bit of a drive to the Westfjords, but well worth it. If you plan to visit the area this home is well worth it. Thanks!

Great stay at Hnifsdalur

This was one of our favorite places to stay in Iceland: spacious, clean, excellent value, close to Isafjordur with access to many West Fjord destinations. We enjoyed a beautiful hike up Hnifsdalur directly from the house and were pleasantly surprised by the trail network. Some of our favorite activities from the house: Sudureyri geothermal pool, Fosshestar horse riding, Tjoruhusid, Jon Siggurson museum at Hrafnseyri, Litlibaer, Dynjandi. There were many other activities that we look forward to on a future visit. We made good use of the clothes washer and dryer.There were many toys that kids would like too. The housekeeping arrangement worked well for us.

Sehr nettes geräumiges Haus aus Basis für Touren im Westen

Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen, insbesondere so Annehmlichkeiten wie die Waschmaschine, der Trockner, die Spülmaschine sowie auch der Billardtisch (wenn auch keine Turnierqualität ;). Bei schönerem Wetter hätten wir draußen vor der großzügigen Terrasse Grillen können. Es war alles notwendige zum Überleben und Kochen vor Ort. Platz war für uns 2 im Überfluss vorhanden: u.a. 2 ungenutzte Schlafzimmer, ein separates WC...

Natur pur in den Westfjorden

Wir verbrachten eine ruhige, erholsame Woche in den Westfjorden, wo uns besonders die Natur mit ihren hohen, grünen Bergen und den tiefen Fjorden beeindruckt haben. Besonders toll fanden wir den roten Strand, den Wasserfall Dynjandi und einen ganz neuen Aussichtspunkt nicht weit von Isafjördur. Unser Haus war einfach großartig, modern, großzügig und mit allem versehen, was man sich denken kann. Die Möglichkeit, im Garten am Abend ein Feuer zu entzünden haben wir mehrfach genutzt. Die Betten waren sehr gemütlich. Der einzige Minuspunkt war das teilweise sehr kalte und nasse Wetter. Aber das gehört eben auch zu Island und war uns nicht neu. Wir haben das Beste daraus gemacht, denn es gab genug Spiele, ein modernes Smart-TV und kleine Museen in der Umgebung, die uns hier weiterhalfen. Wir können das Haus ohne Vorbehalte weiterempfehlen.

A great location and great property

We stayed for three nights at the house. This is exactly what we needed for the middle of our trip - quiet, secluded, and beautiful area. We felt right at home from the start. We had a group of three photography friends traveling together. The location was stunning and it was everything we were looking for to call home. The host was very responsive to our initial booking request and our questions along the way. From a house layout and cleanliness perspective, everything was great. I’d definitely stay here again.

A good place to stay

We were required to wash the towels and linens before checking out, which makes it hard to get away at an early hour. This may be one of the things about Vrbo rentals, in which case you should be prepared. Apart from that, the house was great. It's well set up and roomy. Towels and bedding are readily available. The location is an easy 5-minute drive from Isafjordur, and is a good central spot to travel around the region. The kitchen is well-stocked with cookware, appliances, and utensils. The hosts replied to my emailed questions in a satisfactory manner in the days before we arrived. My travel mates and I would have no problem staying there again if the situation arose.

A wonderful home base for exploring the Weatfjords

This is a lovely home—comfortable and spotlessly clean—in a beautiful location. It is in the perfect location for exploring the Westfjords. You can enjoy exploring the immediate vicinity or visit the bird cliffs of Látrabjarg for a day trip. Rikki and Judi are helpful and responsive hosts. We would definitely stay there again.

The Perfect Escape

My husband and infant joined me for work in Iceland and we stayed at this property for a few days after I was finished on personal time. It was 6 hours from Reykjavik and an off road vehicle was definitely needed, but you felt like you were in a National Geographic show. Perfect scenery, perfect house, and perfect hosts. Every amenity we needed was available, more than enough space, and Judi was incredibly kind and responsive. Would stay here again and again. My only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer.
