December catastrophe
The owner was unreachable by phone the whole day of check in. We drove 7 hours and did not have a place to stay. After a few stressful hours we finally got a hold of someone at VRBO and they could not reach the owner. They ended up refunding the charge and said they could give a credit for a place. When we finally got the email with the detail of the credit we found it was only if we used VRBO or one of their hotels listed. ALL those listed were booked so it was worthless. We ended up on a friends couch, but could not stay there long term. The owner finally called back the next day and because we had no options we ended staying there the rest of the time.Here is the review of the house. Uneven pavers to front door with lots of leaves. (Yardwork not done until 3 days later.) One of the four bedrooms had no heat or air. Probably an add on.The main bath had a weird 3 foot drop into the shower without a hand rail. The living room sofa only sat 5 and we had a party of 7 and we told him how many in our party.The backyard was full of spiders so we never went outside.Only 1/2 roll of paper towels and toilet paper. And, no hot pads or kitchen towels.We got the feeling this owner did not know what he was doing. Sorry but stay away.
