A classic Montana cabin with a beautiful pond in the evergreen forest. You will have a secluded and private experience, where deer roam the property daily. This property is located outside of town and you really are out in the woods.

The Retreat at the Pines is a modern cabin with AC and heat throughout.
This cabin offers 4 bedrooms, with 3 downstairs and 1 on the main floor. The main floor provides one bedroom with a queen bed, a full bath, the kitchen, and family room.

The downstairs provides 3 bedrooms which include 2 queen bedrooms and 1 room with 2 bunk beds to sleep 4. There is a full bathroom and laundry downstairs as well.

The large rear porch opens to the pond. Amenities include a gas grill, a hot tub, and a gazebo that leads to the dock into the pond. There is plenty of seating on the porch and at the gazebo area.

You are about 15 minutes from downtown Whitefish or Kalispell. Big Mountain Ski area is another 15 minutes past downtown Whitefish.

Very nice property, clean cabin, a little small on the inside for 8 people in the living / dining area but we made it work. lots of space on the outside for fun activities. Would definitely book this place again!

Beautifully kept cabin on private pond. Wildlife around. Spacious interior kitchen well stocked with culinary supplies. Hot tub well kept cleaned after every booking. Would absolutely recommend this cabin and hosts.

We loved this cabin - beautiful setting in the woods and just secluded enough to feel very private! We spent lots of time in the backyard with pond, hot tub, and covered dining area. Very clean, responsive owner, close to the park - would definitely rent again!

The house was spectacular. Exactly what we needed after a day of hiking in glacier. The house had everything you could think of; it was well thought out and decorated. The kids absolutely loved swimming and paddling the pond when we got home and the adults enjoyed the hot tub under the stars. Carl was an excellent host and answered messages promptly. We can’t wait to come back!

This cabin was comfy and perfect for us. Nothing hoity-toity about it…just simple living.Kids loved the pond (and dad too), along with the hot tub, and being tucked in the meadow was super quiet and secluded. The distance to Kalispell and Whitefish makes it easy to go to either, and GNP too!

Our stay at Carl and Joy’s cabin was incredible! We have 4 young boys and the pond was a trip highlight. The setting was perfect, easy access to all the surrounding areas, but was still a secluded setting. The house had everything we needed and was very comfortable. The hot tub was really nice to have in the evenings when it was a little chilly. 10 out of 10!

Family trip to Glacier

Carl and Joy were excellent host. Very quick to respond to text messages. The cabin was excellent. Clean and perfect for family vacation. Will definitely stay again.

Cabin

Used this for 6 adults and 4 kids (7-10 y.o.) while visiting Glacier National park June of 2025. Cozy , clean, well stocked, plenty of towels and comfortable beds. Cabin is located down a hill behind a residence but still felt private due to trees and foliage between the two. Plenty of wildlife (many deer) around the cabin to look at while relaxing by the hot tub in the evening. Kids enjoyed kayaking and paddle boarding in the pond, the grill was very high quality, and the gas fire table by the patio area was very nice. Only minor inconvenience was the basement bathroom drains . The shower/tub and sink were draining slowly so they would fill with water faster then they would drain. Owner was made aware and responded promptly via text that they would look at it while we were out for the day . This was not fixed during our stay, but we assume it was something they need to dig into further once we left. Overall I would recommend this place to stay and would return in the future if in the area! It was a short drive into whitefish and 30-40 minutes from west glacier entrance to the national park. Don’t hesitate to book this cabin , we loved it.

Beautiful, comfortable, perfect!

The retreat in the pines cabin was perfect! My family of 8–parents and 6 adult kids, fit comfortably and enjoyed all the amenities-sweet little lake with paddle boards and kayaks, outdoor gathering spaces with fire pit, hot tub and amazing natural surroundings. The cabin was so clean and comfortable. We could have fit two more people if needed because one room had two bunk beds. Carl and Joy were easily accessible if we had questions. Beautiful drive to Glacier, national forest, and whitefish. I wish we could have stayed another week!

We had THE BEST stay at Carl & Joy's property. They were quick to answer any questions we had and were so easy to work with. The property is so wonderful. My husband and I took our two sons for our youngest's high school graduation gift, plus 3 of his friends. There was plenty of room for all of us. The drive to Glacier National Park was very easy. Kalispell has a lot of options for big chain type places (Costco, Wal-Mart, Target, etc.) and is a close drive but we chose to spend evenings in Whitefish, which has plenty of amenities but also a small town charm. Highly, highly recommend! I will recommend anyone I know that is considering a trip to GNP to stay here!

Location was perfect-feels far way in the woods but is super close to town and GNP. Property is well maintained, home was clean, organized and had the main essentials. Plenty to do on the property for days you just want to chill in the cabin. Hosts respond fast to questions/concerns. We ended up adding an extra day due to loving the cabin and location. LOVED IT!

Annual friends ski trip

We very much enjoyed our time at the cabin. Easy to access. Short drive to town and to big mountain but still with a secluded feel. Our hosts were easy to work with but non intrusive in our stay. Loved having a hot tub to relax in after skiing some of the most expansive terrain in North America. One of our favorite trips and places weve stayed so far. Would definitely recommend and will be back!

Very nice property

The cabin was nice and clean. It is close enough to whitefish and Kalispell to make for easy drives to both, but far enough away from town to feel remote. Saw deer out the front and back doors several mornings.

Favorite rental ever

I stayed here with a few friends to celebrate my birthday and it was the best rental I’ve ever stayed in. We planned our days so that we could hike and visit Glacier but still have most of the day to hang at the cabin. The backyard is extremely beautiful, quiet, and peaceful. We enjoyed a very clean hot tub and wonderful outdoor propane fire. We cooked dinner in the cabin and read our books with the fireplace on. I had the best nights of sleep I’ve had in a long time. Bring your own shampoo, conditioner, and body wash and you’ll be good to go. I will absolutely be planning another Whitefish trip so I can stay at the cabin. Thank you Carl and Joy for everything!! 10/10

Great place!

We all enjoyed the cabin very much. The cabin was very clean and in a secluded area. Though the water was a little too cold having the pond in the back was great. Carl was very friendly and easy to deal with. Would love to stay here again sometime.
