Blue Crab Cottage welcomes you to the scenic Wicomico River with the ‘best sunsets' in the county. Wake up to water views in front and behind the cottage. Guests enjoy access to the 3 waterfront piers. Tour the 4+ acres and see the multitude of wildlife. Our favorite are the birds, Osprey, herons and eagles abound. Sip your coffee on the front porch relaxing to the sights and sounds of the river.
Budds Creek Maryland International Raceway is 9 miles close! Easy drives open up multiple museums and historic sites showcasing Maryland's rich heritage of our founding Fathers. Saint Clements Island museum is where you can learn about the first landing in St Mary’s, St. Mary's College and historic grounds all showcasing Maryland’s oldest county. Sotterley Historic Mansion, Patuxent River Naval Air Museum, Point Lookout State Park, and our family favorite Solomon’s Island marine museum with lots of hands-on activities for your family. The unique Amish community benefits the local farmers’ markets in the area. Delectable restaurants like the Front Porch, the Rex, T&J Coves (great deal on crab cakes) and Old Towne Pub in Leonardtown, Foxy Fish in Hughesville, and best crab cake around at Scuttlebutts in Cobb Island. Go by boat! You’ll love the ambiance of the many waterfront dining choices in nearby Solomons Island. Lots to do on our grounds, Fishing and crabbing off the piers, Ping pong, practice golf net and putting mat, corn hole, and frisbee golf goals all on large open yard. Guest love dining in our large boat house over looking the water

Chris and his wife Lynda were absolutely amazing. They included us in their activities and showed us around a bit. We now consider them family! Super prompt with questions, activities, and information about the surrounding area! Loved every minute of our time at the cottage.

Hidden Gem!

This beautiful cottage was the perfect place for our family! The views were amazing and the sunset breathtaking over the water. The home itself was decorated to have a beach cottage feel and were extremely happy there!

Super cozy with beautiful views

Great place.. quiet neighborhood.. our only regret is that the weather was to cold to enjoy it to its fullest. The sunsets are gorgeous. The host was great as well.

Fabulous

Fabulous doesn't even begin to describe how wonderful our time was at Blue Crab Cottage...the cottage was absolutely perfect for our family of 5, as well as our dog Princess. The views were spectacular...the host was so friendly and helpful...the kids loved chatting with Mr Chris and meeting his dogs, who were the sweetest welcoming committee. We had a great stay, and we hope to come back for another stay during our next trip to MD.

A Hidden Treasure on the Water – Clean, Cozy, and Pet-Friendly

Our stay at Blue Crab Cottage was absolutely perfect! We were in town for a wedding in Waldorf, and this cottage was the ideal place to stay—peaceful, beautifully located, and just the right distance from everything.The home was spotless, well-kept, and had everything we needed, including on-site laundry which was a huge bonus. One of the best parts was that they allowed dogs, so our furry friends got to enjoy the trip too!The views of the Wicomico River were stunning—sunsets were truly some of the best we’ve seen. We spent mornings sipping coffee on the porch, watching herons fly by, and enjoyed peaceful access to the private waterfront piers.The owners were incredibly kind, accommodating, and easy to work with. They made everything simple and stress-free. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will definitely return if we’re ever back in the area!

A Great Experience

This was perfect! We wanted to get away from the city and unwind with our teenage son and two dogs. The two dogs had been arranged ahead of time with the owner’s permission.The cottage was clean. It was well equipped with all the kitchen items you might need. There was a K-cup machine, a regular coffee pot, a dishwasher, a full-sized fridge, a range, a microwave, and an oven. The table seats 6 and there are 2 more stools at the end of the kitchen counter.The beds were very comfortable. The sheets were soft and there were plenty of blankets. Each bedroom had its own little AC unit so it was easy to adjust sleep temperature and air movement. The street itself was very quiet. Cars drive 10 mph or less and it didn’t kick up a lot of dust.The hosts let us borrow some fishing poles to fish off the dock. They also helped us set up crab pots and even helped us cook our crab feast. We also borrowed their cornhole set and they had two disc golf baskets in the yard.There were several seats to choose from outside - on the porch, in the yard, near the top of the stairs down to the dock, and we took some folding chairs to the dock itself.We really couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend our long weekend! What amazing hosts!
