In much sought after area with no anti social behaviour peaceful and well respected five minutes to equestrian centre two minutes to dog track five minutes to Mullingar arts centre five minutes to Mullingar town centre with an array of shops/ bars and restaurants everything can be accessed on foot because of its close proximity to everything footpath all the way to town.

We loved our stay at the cottage. Super cute and warm. It was wonderful it had a washing machine for us to replenish our clothes. Only thing as being out of country, our taxi driver had to tell us how to lock the doors. I would definitely stay there again if I ever make it back. Mullingar is an amazing little town

Short stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Noeleen was quick to respond to any questions and we were very comfortable during our short stay in Mullingar.

Cute cottage near town. Very warm and had all the things requiered for a pleasant stay. As there were 5 of us the single bathroom did require some organizing of who had it and when otherwise fine. A suggestion would be to have the clothes dryer in the kitchen next to the washing machine for convenience, and perhaps a second oven tray that fits into the rackng. We stayed 3 weeks and it was very pleasant.

Home Away From Home

We took an extended trip to Ireland and wanting to see multiple parts of the country opted to stay in the midlands. My husband found this listing on VRBO and we booked it. Best decision of the trip. This is a lovely home with a location that made it convenient to visit several other counties in the country. Everything we needed for a comfortable stay was present, including some food items stocked upon our arrival which meant we didn’t have to go right out and shop. That wasn’t expected but much appreciated. The home has a washer/dryer and dishwasher. Several coffeemakers and a kettle. There is also a river where the name comes from to lull you to sleep at night. It took us no time at all to settle in. The homeowner maintained an outstanding level of communication and was quick with replys to help us with cultural confusion (we are American and needed some explanation for things like eir codes lol). I was sad to see our time in Mullingar end but if we return I wouldn’t hesitate to book Riven cottage. Not only is it a warm and welcoming property with a great owner but it’s within walking distance of downtown making shopping and days out convenient. I cannot recommend this listing enough.

Mullingar is a lovely town and neighbourhood it has lots to offer,a good transport system and lots of scenery. The area that river Cottage is surrounded by is close to everything,crime free,friendly and neighbourly.

River Cottage is unique because of the stream that runs along side it makes it different from all the rest.undisturbed full run of the Cottage not shared with host or other guests in the town but yet out of it because of the green fields along side it.
