Donald and Debbie were absolutely excellent hosts. They truly know everything that’s happening in and around St. John and were an incredible resource for recommendations, activities, and island tips. Donald’s pottery is also beautiful and so unique — such a special touch to the experience.We stayed in the Amore Suite and loved it. The king bed was very comfortable, and having a washer and dryer in our unit was such a huge plus. The location is incredibly convenient — just a short, easy walk to town. From the roundabout, you can head quickly toward Mongoose Junction or straight into Cruz Bay, making it easy to get everywhere. It’s right near Dolphin Market and only about a five-minute walk to Starfish Market.They also offer Jeep rentals, which we found to be very competitively priced and super convenient to book through them.We absolutely love coming to St. John, and this was a fantastic place to stay. We would absolutely stay here again and would highly recommend it to friends and family.

We absolutely loved our stay! The apartment's location is truly unbeatable—everything in town is just a short walk away.Don, was a huge part of what made this trip so special. He was incredibly helpful, picking us up from the ferry and sharing excellent local recommendations. He genuinely cares and went out of his way to ensure we had a perfect vacation.The apartment itself is beautiful and clearly well-cared for, featuring Don's wonderful artwork throughout, which gives the space a unique personality.This is exactly what a great vacation rental should be: a beautiful property with character and a host who loves the area and wants to share it. Highly recommend!

Very kind people who run the place, it was beautiful and exactly as pictured and described. They helped us figure out the car rental and were so sweet to allow us a place to store our bags when our return flight was delayed all while picking us up and dropping us off at the ferry dock when we arrived and departed.

Great location in Cruz bay. Easily walk to all dinner spots/bars. Room was clean and exactly as pictured. Had great amenities for the beach including towels, a cooler, chairs, and other beach needs. Really enjoyed their efforts towards being environmentally focused. Friendly host and everyone who was there was extremely helpful. We were also able to rent a car with them as well which helped streamline our stay. Highly recommend if you’re planning to spend time in Cruz bay and surrounding beaches.

Great space, great location

We had a great stay here. The hosts were even anole to hook us with with a car rental, and were very responsive throughout our stay. Blake gave us great local recommendations, and Donald was very kind. We’ll be recommending this space to our friends.

Stayed here for 5 days for our honeymoon and it was fantastic! Owner are great gave tips on good places to eat and the room was awesome!

We had an amazing stay on St. John. The room was perfect. Very clean and well kept. We loved all the plants! Good WiFi and good cell signal. The location is great, walking distance to shops, restaurants, grocery, ferry etc. The staff was also very friendly. Blake helped get us checked in and she was very kind and very helpful. We will definitely stay here again in the future!

Our stay at Amore Suites was absolutely wonderful! From start to finish everything was perfect!! The place was perfect for my husband and I and was within walking distance to all the restaurants and bars. The place was extremely clean and it was everything we needed!! We would definitely stay at Amore Suites again! Thanks for the amazing hospitality!!!!

Lovango Wedding Weekend

My wife and I stayed the weekend for a friends wedding on Lovango. The host, suite, and surroundings were absolutely charming. Perfect location within walking distance of restaurants, bars, shops, the beach and ferries. Fantastic!

Honeymoon Stay!

Donald was such a joy! He picked us up from the docks and made sure we were taken care of throughout our stay. The location is very central to restaurants and a grocery store in Cruz bay. Only a 5 minute walk to the docks. Even though we both got sick on our honeymoon, we really enjoyed our stay :)

50th Anniversary in St John

My wife and I have been coming to St John since 1976, so there was no other place that we wanted to spend our 50th wedding Anniversary. The Amore Loft Suite at Artistic Villas was the perfect spot to stay, centrally located to the restaurants and shops in Cruz Bay. The suite was clean and comfortable. Our host Donald was very warm and personable. Unfortunately he and his wife left on vacation two days after our arrival but his staff was available to meet our needs, particularly helpful in finding a parking space for our jeep (which we also rented from them). I would strongly recommend staying at Donald and Deborah's place while visiting St John and we look forward to doing so in the future.

Donald & Deborah Schnell have brought the experience ofyears of Saint John living to the creation and decoration of their Villas. Donald & Deborah have made St. John their home since 1975 and have raised their three children - Abigail, Lucas & Michael - on island. Donald & Deborah combine elements of grand Italian Villas from their trips to Perugia, Italy for the Umbria Jazz Festival (the Director & his large family are yearly visitors to Artistic Villas) with traditional, island Caribbean Villas for a uniquely perfect vacation experience. Donald's Studio creates ceramic lighting and offers lighting, design & decorating consultation to all the finest resorts in the Caribbean, and he brings all these elements to their Villas. Originally from Michigan, Donald attended graduate school at the University of Chicago where Deborah was a pediatric nurse.
