The house provided a peaceful space to recharge. It was a true vacation! Everything was so well stocked (i.e, kitchen staples, bug spray, games, books, bathroom supplies) that it was as if we were being hosted by a close friend. The furnishings are elegant and remarkably modern while retaining the quaintness of an old farmhouse. My husband and I traveled with our young adult children and their friends and worried they would easily get bored. That didn't happen. We only took one day trip away from the house and it was actually our least favorite day. We found so much to do at the house between checking the crab pots, fishing, kayaking, swimming in the pool, and playing yard games in the HUGE yard. I didn't get near as much time in the hammock as I could have used! In fact we extended our stay once we were there because we weren't ready to leave. My advice, which has to do with the location, not the house, is that if there are activities that you would like to do when staying at the house, I recommend planning before the trip as we found that the opening/closing times and availability (e.g., boats, crabs) were not what we are used to in the city. Totally fine because the point was to get away from the city! We were able to do all the things we wanted but I wish I had planned more so that we could spend less time figuring it out while on vacation. Also, mosquitos. The owner was so kind to allow us to pay extra to have the property sprayed for mosquitos before we arrived.
