Dear Jane, We’re so happy to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful views of the ocean which are just steps away from the cottage. We take great pride in our cottage, and your appreciation of its high level of cleanliness and of our well-stocked kitchen is so wonderful to hear. We did add an additional A/C for your comfort. Thanks for your feedback – we’ll address each below: Water – We had a new well drilled last summer, new plumbing installed, and also added an inline filter to ensure the water is clean and safe to drink. That said, well water does not taste the same as treated town/city water. The well water has been tested by a licensed laboratory and has been certified as potable (safe to drink). Some people don’t have an issue with the slight mineral taste, and those who are used to treated public water sometimes prefer to get bottled water. Twin beds – We purchased brand new quality mattresses about two years ago, and they are used only seasonally and are not worn out. The twin bed frames and foundations are in fact antiques. Construction – The construction at our neighbor’s property was not underway when we reached out to you. Once we learned of the neighbor’s plans and timeline we reached out to you directly with options. At that time, there was only a possibility of the construction being in progress during your visit. We were transparent with you, and we offered generous options and alternatives which benefitted you greatly. Most of all, we are saddened you did not reach out to us with your concerns during your stay when we could have responded and made your visit more comfortable. We would have been happy to make up the futon sofa bed and address your water safety concerns immediately. Kind Regards, Kim & Doug
